A misleading first impression

Advantages: tastes lovely with cakes or chocolate
Disadvantages: if prepared wrong, it tastes rather disappointing

Review of Whittard Vanilla Tea Bags

Calm in a teacup

Advantages: Subtle flavouring, not too overpowering
Disadvantages: Little on the pricey side

After trying a selection of whittard coffees, with weird and wacky names such as Guatamalan Elephant (made by elephants from real Guatamalans), I decided to play it safe with a plainer sounding tea. For this, Vanilla Tea Bags sounded right up my boulevard. ...no initial smell of vanilla about its character. After brewing said tea bag, the scent is more apparent as the tea, vanilla and bits of fluff move around inside the bag. The taste, however, isn't as strong as the smell. There is a slight undertone of vanilla, but not an overpowering flavour. They do taste very similar to ordinary tea, and unless I knew it was supposed to be vanilla flavoured, I doubt whether I'd have noticed the flavour of vanilla. ...

Bit of a disappointment

Advantages: None`
Disadvantages: Not the delicate flavour I was hoping for.

I bought a box of these teabags after a trip to Paris, where I had some vanilla tea in a wonderful tea shop near the Pompidou Centre. Rather than remind me of my lovely Easter break, it left me with a nasty taste in my mouth. There is very little, if any, taste of vanilla to this tea. It's very insipid really.
