We have had a Wii for years but after the initial excitement it sat in the cupboard unused as my husband does not like it and prefers the Xbox so until my children were old enough to use it we found it collected dust. After my operation I became a couch potato as I could not really move for the first 4 weeks and was on ordered bed rest when it came to exercising again I had no motivation and I decided to purchase the Wii fit board and Wii fit plus game to try and get up and at least making an effort. Setting up Once you put the disc in and load the game you are asked to make a Wii Mii which is ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None!

I’m a fairly healthy person, I eat relatively healthily and run around after the kids all day but since injuring my knee last summer I have been unable to continue with my daily run which I’ve been doing for the last couple of years. To be fair I have only put on a few pounds since stopping running but as I graduate in 3 weeks, and have bought a lovely dress, I wanted to try and shift the extra few pounds. About 3 or 4 weeks ago I decided to buy the Wii Fit Plus. We had a Wii Fit a few years ago and I used it a lot to shift some weight after having my youngest child, and surprisingly it worked ... more

Advantages Advantages Games are designed to be fun but practical

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price is a little high and should only be used as part of your exercise programme

My wife (Sue) and I needed to shed a few pounds before setting out on our fantastic 2 week family holiday to Disney World in Florida in early August 2012 and as we are both not exhibitionists neither of us fancied the simple option of a daily / weekly jog that probably would have completely knackered us out or left us in an even worse condition than we were in before. Three months before setting off we took the extremely brave decision to buy a Wii Fit Plus, so it was simply a question of where we could by this sadistic piece of kit. It came as a bit of a surprise when Sue picked me up from ... more

Advantages Advantages Good value, fun, keeps you in shape, keeps track of how many calories you burned

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not enough games

Wii Fit Plus is a fun way to lose weight. There are lots of games, muscle workouts and even yoga to do. It's a very useful program. They keep track of your weight and how many calories you burned altogether and from one exercise. You can make your own workout using yoga exercises and muscle workouts. They also have a collection of their own workouts depending on your goal. For the yoga exercise and muscle workouts you pick either a male or female trainer(I personally prefer the female). They explain and lead you through the exercise and tell you if you are losing your balance and they even ... more

Advantages Advantages get to see how many calories you are losing, wide variety of games and exercises

Disadvantages Disadvantages hard to get motivated because it IS exercise

I absolutely LOVE my Wii Fit! I love the fact that you can see approximately how many calories your losing per game and that motivates me to play more of them. It is also handy as you do not have to leave the house so it does not matter what you are wearing, or what you look like while doing it. I have knee problems and I like that I can choose activities that I am comfortable with and that will not stress out my knee too much. There is a wide variety of activities to choose from such as running on the spot to yoga moves to mini games like boxing and jumping. I like that when you make a ... more
