Wii Resort For Island Sports

Advantages: Some great mini-games that really show off the MotionPlus accessory
Disadvantages: Expensive to fully kit out two remotes. One or two less compelling mini-games

'''INTRODUCTION''' Our Nintendo Wii has been hibernating under our TV, gathering dust since shortly after Christmas. The Wii party games made a brief appearance for the holidays and the shine of Wii Fit wore off after our New Year’s resolutions met with their usual success and longevity (i.e. none). It’s a fab console, but it’s very ease of “pick up and play” makes it just as easy to ignore in favour of other pursuits. However, we were intrigued ...
...gadget, and when Wii Sports Resort (WSR) – essentially Wii Sports 2 – was announced, it was immediately added to our Wish List. As such, I was delighted when I received it for my birthday last week, and It has played a part in our nightly entertainment since. '''WHAT’S IN THE BOX''' WSR comes packaged with the game (in its own DVD-style case) and an elongated clear silicon “skin” cover with the MotionPlus accessory already pre-inserted into it, designed ...

Island of Sporting Desire

Advantages: Three or four really great sporting games
Disadvantages: The need to 'calibrate' Wii Remote

...which came free with the Wii console, 'Wii Sports' had little to prove - a title designed to show off the ingenious controls of the new machine, which at times meant that it felt like a bit of a glorified tech-demo. The sequel 'Wii Sports Resort' is tied in with the release of MotionPlus - the little white box that plugs into the bottom of the Wii controller, offering much more accuracy and finesse of controls - but does the game make the most of ...
...to do is hold the Wii Remote in front of you like a bow, and then pull back the Nunchuk as if it were the string. Releasing the 'Z' button sends your arrow shooting toward the target, hopefully into the bullseye. There are three different difficulty levels to choose from, with each one increasing wind speed and target distance - personally, I would have liked to have seen a fourth difficulty setting, as it's a sport which can be mastered over a relatively ...

Wii should go to the Sports Resort!...

Advantages: Good for all the family, Great fun, Entertaining, Something to do on a rainy day
Disadvantages: Expensive

...year, and saw a Nintendo Wii sitting there looking at me, God, I could hardly contain my excitement! I rushed over to it and read the label. It was a special gift for all of us, and what a fantastic gift to give to us as well!! We soon realised that to get the maximum amount of fun out of our Wii, we were going to need to get some games to play on it!! We’ve got quite a lot of games for it now, such as ‘Wii Play’ and ‘Wii Sports’ but none are as ...
...is also known as Wii Sports 2. There are a few reasons for why we purchased Wii Sports Resort. I will list them below: * We had some Argos vouchers we needed to spend! * The game looked really good and we wanted to try it out for ourselves to see how good it really was * We hadn’t been on the Wii for a while so we thought getting a new game would be a good idea to get us back on the Wii * The fact that it is called ‘Wii _Sports_ made us think ...

Get active at Wii Sports Resort.......for a price!

Advantages: fun to play with family and friends, lots of game choices, some really fun games, multiplayer
Disadvantages: very expensive, some potentially boring games, not as well designed as it could be.

Wii Sports Resort was my youngest brothers birthday present but for the purpose of research I decided to try it out myself. The game is for the Nintendo Wii and has a whopping recommended retail price of £49.99 although it is currently selling on Amazon for £39.99. This price includes the game and a “Wii Motion Plus”. ==The Wii MotionPlus== This is an accessory which attaches to your Wii Remote to enhance its motion sensing capabilities. It detects ...
...in the game. The Wii MotionPlus is essential for game which is why it is included but its inclusion automatically makes the game a pricey one which is a bit of a shame. Whilst you only need one Wii Motion Plus for single player games and the remote can be shared for games such as bowling and golf, there are many sports such as canoeing and table tennis that you will need an additional Wii MotionPlus and Wii remote for in order to play against someone. ...

Better than Wii Sports, but still leaving room for improvement

Advantages: Many more good events than Wii Sports. Great use of the Motion Plus for realistic control.
Disadvantages: Too many filler events; only a couple of sports strong enough to stand up on their own right.

== Introduction == Wii Sports has been one of the main selling points of Nintendo's latest console ever since it was bundled with the machine at launch in most territories. Whilst being something of a step back in terms of visual realism, it offered a much more authentic feel of the sports involved by the use of motion controls. Wii Sports, launched in conjunction with the Motion Plus which adds accuracy to the Wii Remote, is the long awaited sequel ...
...Tennis - Roughly analogous to Wii Sports Tennis, but with a much more realistic means of adding spin to the bll, this fills much the same niche. Two player games are as brilliant as ever, although it's not got the ability to play doubles, which is a significant omission as the rules of table tennis make it quite interesting. **** Swordplay - More great use of the Motion Plus here, as the event faithfully recreates your every lunge, sweep and parry ...

Wii Sports Resort- Fun for the whole family

Advantages: fun forf whole family, lots of games, sensitive controls
Disadvantages: expensive extra devices needed for multi-player

...purchase in 2006 the Nintendo Wii has enjoyed immense success. One of the key reasons for this is probably that it reaches a wider demographic than the majority of games consoles and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Wii sports resort, released as a kind of improvement on wii sports was released in july of this year, and is no exception, providing entertainment for people of all ages, and has the potential of being enjoyed by the whole family. ...
...device in the form of wii motion plus, which is a more sophisticated sensing device than the regular wii remote, and is able to pick up more complicated and sensitive movements when you are playing. This obviously improves the experience of the game, making it more realistic. Like wii sports this game can be played in single player mode, and there are more games on offer than in the original wii sports. In my opinion sports resort offers more enjoyment ...

Is the wii motion plus ermm.. a plus

Advantages: Swordplay, Bowling, Table Tennis, Wakboarding, Air Flight, Canoeing, Archery
Disadvantages: Basketball, Cycling, wii motion plus recallibration, no online

...want to know if the wii motion plus is as accurate as it advertises and if it actually makes gameplay more fun than the original. But due to the 12 varied activities, the game is a mixed bag. There are a lot of activities in this game which get quite tedious and repetitive. Basketball has you just raising the wiimote and thrusting it forward repeatedly. Cycling has you just shaking the wiimote and nunchuck in unison to gather momentum. It's these ...
...fun, but don't use the wii motion plus very well. Wakeboarding was simply tilting the wiimote side to side to steer where your surfboard went and thrusting it forward whenever a wave was coming. Fun, but simple. However; swordplay, archery, bowling and canoeing work very well. Swordplay is quite accurate but I found that the game occasionally didn't correspond to where my Wii remote was. This got quite frustrating. Archery was interesting and fun, ...

Sporty fun in your front room!

Advantages: fun for everyone!
Disadvantages: price

I love the wii and it's amazing ability to encorporate sports into a game which doesn't involve you just sitting on your sofa but involves you getting up and having fun as well as keeping fit in a very different way! I bought wii sports which is the original of this game and really loved it but since playing Sport's Resort I can see how limited it was in comparison. Wii sport's resort has so many different games that there isn't really much chance ...
...they are not the same! Wii sports comes with the Motion Plus sensor which is the latest must have gadget for the wii. It basically tracks your movements so they are much more accurate and so really enhances playing these games! Wii Sport's Resort comes with just one motion sensor so if you want to play multiplayer and not pass the remote back and forth and to have all options available then it's well worth investing in buying more. They are also ...

sports resort got me active!!!!

Advantages: great fun, great multiplayer capabilities
Disadvantages: possibly the price but other than that nothing!!!!

Wii sports resort is the next step up from the original wii sports game, only not only is it a step up its a leap forward in the fun factor. With even more sports available its difficult to get bored of this game, and very easy to get addicted to it!!!! There are 12 sports available on the game:- swordplay Wakeboarding Frisbee Archery basketball table tennis golf bowling power cruising canoeing cycling airsports. So far my favourite sports have been ...
...each of the sports. Wii sports resort has one other major difference to the original wii sports game. As well as having more sports to play it is powered by the new wii motion plus. The wii motion plus accessory has to be attached at all times whilst playing wii sports resort, but its well worth investing in as the difference in playing is brilliant. The wii motion plus accessory mirrors your movements quite accurately giving you very fine motion ...

A good game but requires extra gadgets!

Advantages: fun for everyone!
Disadvantages: limited if you don't have all gadgets

I love the Wii and the amount of variability and possible options for the games . I like the fact that it is so very different to other games consoles and I bought this particular game- Wii Sports Resort- as I had read some good reviews about it. The game is a follow on from Wii Sports and it uses the latest function that the wii have brought out- wii motion plus. wii motion plus is a lot more accurate, it makes your moves much more realistic which ...
...I was doing but with wii motion plus it is much more accurate. The games on wii sport resort are very varied so there is something for everyone. There are 12 games in total including: *sword play *Frisbee *Archery *Wakeboarding *table tennis *Basket ball *power curling *golf *Air sports *Cycling *Bowling *Canoeing Games can be played for up to 4 players and you can either pass the nunchuck and control between you or have your own, however ...

Great Family Fun

Advantages: Keeps the kids quite for ages!
Disadvantages: Only one motion plus Inc.

...one of the best interactive wii games out there. I like the motion plus but you only get one with the game and you can't play two player or more, without it. They alone are £22! This is the only down side. Seeing as there is only this game at the moment that you can use the motion plus for. Oh actually there is the Tiger Woods new game but that's not everyone's cup of tea. I love these type of games myself. It does keep the child entertained for ...
...It's an extended version of wii sports game, but more acurate with the motion plus. Which does make a difference actually. Archery is very good and keeps you entertained for hours. Thats my favorite. Bowling is the same as the Wii Sports but with the Mii's wearing different clothes. Ping Pong and basketball are also very good games but the cycling one is quite hard to get the hang of at first. The price is up there with most wii game prices but like ...

This is what the wii was designed for

Advantages: Increased sensitivity in the motion capture provides greater accuracy in-game.
Disadvantages: Only one Wii MotionPlus attachment comes with the game.

...first releases for the popular Wii console was the Wii sports package which used the revolutionary motion tracking capabilities of the Wii remote to allow users to perform similar motions using the controller as are required in the sporting activities available in the package. This original title however had its floors. FIrstly, the motion tracking was prone to confusion and was not as precise as the designers originally intended. Although fun, the ...
...may cause a strike in Wii bowling in one instance yet end up in the gutter in the second. WIth this in mind, the designers returned to the drawing board to improve upon this fault as well as come up with several other activities that would be suitable for kids and grown-ups alike. The result of this re-design was Wii Sports Resort which is the first Wii game to successfully use the new Wii MotionPlus Accessory for greater accuracy. The Wii MotionPlus ...

Disadvantages: Extra MotionPlus accessories needed for multiplayer.

Since the Wii launched in 2006, it has came bundled with Wii Sports, a collection of 6 different mini games that each use the Wii Remote in a unique way to control the action and show what the Wii is capable of. Now it is 2009 and we have the sequel, Wii Sports Resort. Like it's predecessor, Wii Sports Resort is a bundle of mini games designed for the whole family to enjoy. This time there are 12 different sports (Swordplay, Wakeboarding, Frisbee, ...
