At a glance you'd be forgiven for thinking that Wilko was a cheap, nasty discount store that sold naff products and staff who think excellent customer service is talking to you like crap. You'd be wrong then. Next time your passing go on in, if you haven't already. They are rapidly expanding their stores nationwaide so if you don't have one in your area now you soon will. They are basically a housewares store come D.I.Y chain and seel own branded ...
...one of those shops which is hard to go in and come out without having spent a fortune on products you think are "too good value not to buy". Household products are aplenty and extremely good value. They sell bleach to washing powder, clothes pegs to disinfectant and batteries to polishes. Wilkinson's the hardware shop is a Worksop based chain that are lovingly known as Wilko's .I used to work for them and I am a fan of this shop but less so than I used to be . They have branches in such places as Nottingham , Shipley , Barnsley , Huddersfield , Sheffield , Chesterfield and Middlesbrough but are opening more down in the South of England. ...on most occassions I find Wilkinson far superior. It utilises its floor space in the best possible way, you rarely find anything out of stock, and you enter the store virtually certain that you will find a selection of the products that you are looking for. I should imagine for a homeowner (sadly I am not amongst these ranks as yet) it is invaluable. Another bonus is that it is always extremely neat and tidy, at least in the two stores I have knowledge ...
...know is somewhat overlooked in other shops of its kind, but Wilko's standards never fall, it always looks great, even the most mundane of displays. I am very impressed at Wilko by the range of wall papers that they offer. What a wonderful world of bits and pieces Wilkinsons’ stores are – if you are into household bits of pieces, toiletries etc that is! Unfortunately I have to travel to the next town from me (difficult for me at the moment) to get to my nearest branch as my own town is too “up itself” to have cheapy stores such as this! I see Wilkinsons, or Wilko as it’s also known, as a sort of “poor man’s” Robert Dyas ...
...but much cheaper. The stores are large and well laid out though a little crowded but they have a Hell of a lot of stock to cram into that space and there are big savings to be made for the customer so I wouldn’t criticise too much as they obviously make their price cuts by sacrificing a gleaming, up-to-the minute store layout. This may not be very 'hip' of me - but Wilkinson's has to be one of my favourite stores. So as this is a Consumer Opinion site, here’s my ‘consumer opinion’…… You can buy just about everything you want there from razorblades, suitcases, picture frames to plants, stationery and ladies 'unmentionables' (or so I'm told !) Wilko's is the best thing that has happened in my life! The store in my town has not been here for too long. Only for the last 2 or 3 years, but it's been a godsend! They are cheap, cheerful, and very nearly always have their products in stock! Well, what exactly do they sell, I hear you ask? PETS ~~~ In the pet section, they sell food, which you can put in bags yourself, weigh it on the scales and put the price tag on it. Food for your pet birds ...
...cat. Cages for your hamster or bird. Also they sell toys and accessories for your animals, and stuff like flea sprays and shampoo's. (Shampoo being a necessity for my dog!!). I love Wilkos, or Wilkinson to give it it's full name, and have done since I first shopped in there many years ago. It's one of those stores which manages to sell a wide variety of quality products and amazingly low prices. Products range from cosmetics and toiletries to garden equipment, pictures and frames to stationary and wrapping paper, wallpaper, paint, crockery, cutlery, toys, sweets, clothes, medicines, candles, light bulbs, plugs, chains ...
........ It's great. You can pretty much find anything ou look for inside, and Wilkos usually has it's own brand product for what you want, which cuts the cost even more. I usually buy my toiletries and stationary here, and my father is always buying bits and pieces for the garden. It saves me a fortune. For example, I bought a 250ml bottle of Organics shampoo and the same size conditioner at just 85p each. WOW. This lower price is comparable on most ...

As i have been a regular shopper at Wilkinsons and have been very impressed with their store, i feel i ought to write an opinion to recommend them to you. I have recently adopted a hamster after his previous owner had moved to a smaller flat and could no longer keep him. As it was all done very quickly i needed all the accesories pronto!
