I’ve got a bit of a habit of just buying stuff that looks nice. Razors are funny things, it normally ends up just as cheap to buy a whole new razor that comes complete with 2 blades, as it does to buy 4 replacement blades to keep your old one going. I bought this shaver as I lost my gillete sensor Excel. On my first shave I noticed it was not as close as the Sensor Excel. However on consequent shaves I noticed that the Wilkinson Sword Diamond FX kept its shave quality and closeness where as the sensor excel was becoming blunter and blunter. Ummm I was given the wilkinson Sword FX razor as a present. I looked good (you only buy razors if they look good !!!!) and I had seen the tv advertisments that I was quite excited to use it (pretty sad really!!!!). Advantages: Blades stay sharper, good feel to the razor, just the right weight.
Disadvantages: Blades are expensive.

I like this razor for the simple fact that the blades stay sharper for longer. This is thanks to their diamond tip. Double diamond blades (not complete diamond you realise), no wonder they're so bloomin' expensive. Nevertheless a damn close shave, even if I do say so myself. The look and feel of this razor is especially good, not too heavy and not too light. When you're picky this does matter. There's nothing worst than an uncomfortable razor ... Read review

Disadvantages: Bulky design with cartridge holder

Always been a Gillette fan. The most comfortable shave I had found was the Sensor Excel but it sacrificed a close shave for a comfortable one. I have pretty sensitive skin which is prone to flare ups if I don't shave carefully and have always pretty blindly bought whatever Gillette did next. The secret has always been using a fresh blade cartridge but I am very sceptical about a product that is sold cheaply but depends on regular 'maintenance' ... Read review

Disadvantages: erm, none spring to mind!

I have used Wilkinson Sword blades for before but switched to try several other brands after hearing of other types of razors on offer. Having not liked the other razor blades on offer (mach 3, bics, supermarket brands) and partly due to price reasons I switched to FX Diamonds and have not looked back. The shave is of the same standard if not better and I dont feel the bars on other razors are necessary. This brand is more easily available in stores. ... Read review
