Nothing over Sixpence

AdvantagesRead opinion

DisadvantagesRead opinion

"Who used to sell hand painted Clarence Cliff style teasets for 6d a piece? The answer is Woolworth’s. (6d=2½p) This was the store that was the consumer’s champion. This was the store that used to claim that “ Nothing in their store was over sixpence” (Marks and Spenser fought back with nothing over one shilling and eleven pence three farthings) Not quite the same ring to it somehow. OK so I can’t remember those days ..." Read review

AdvantagesEasy and fast way to shop

DisadvantagesNone

"I recently got the new Woolworths Christmas Cataloge which you can pick up at you local 'Woolies'. I have to admitt, i dont do much shopping at Woolworths, maybe a quick peep in and out thats about it, but since it was coming up to Christmas i picked one of these up on the way out for a nosey! Looking through i seen a DVD/Karoke machine at 49.99, with 10 free DVDs. So off i was down to fetch myself one before the big Christmas rush when there ..." Read review

the shop around the corner

Advantagescheap prices and delivery

Disadvantagessent wrong item, cancelled another without informing me

"I have bought more products than I could remember from Woolies over the years as we have a had a local store as long as I can remember - I'm 35 now so thats longer than I care to remember as well. From buying records - remember them, to tapes - slightly newer, and then on to cds I have boughts most of them there. Then there's all the other useful items you could buy - spending pocket money as a small child on pick n mix sweets to the range of good ..." Read review

No Wonder its Woolworths

AdvantagesEasy to navigate, good returns policy

DisadvantagesDelivery Charges

"I used the Woolworth's on-line shopping service the other day for the first time after hearing an advert for it. I was not dissapointed. Sadly where I live we have no local woolworth store, our nearest is a 30 minute drive away. So the creation of an on-line store was great news as I do enjoy shopping at Woolies particularly at Christmas time. The website was fast and easy to navigate although the actual range of goods on offer is quite small by ..." Read review

Worth it!

AdvantagesShop in comfort

DisadvantagesDon't wait for the email

"We have all been to the Woolworth Store on our High Street and we are familiar with the Dime Store layout: narrow aisles, crowded shelves, placards and low prices. It is much more comfortable to visit Woolworth online. The brash red website is instantly recognisable, and you might like to enter their competition before you browse. If you go via Nectar online, you will pick up some Nectar points, thereby getting an even better deal. The site is ..." Read review

Nice shop, that's about it...

AdvantagesCheap prices, wide range of products

DisadvantagesCancellation of order without notice!

"I wanted to order a CD and a video for my dad as a Christmas present, so I decided to order online from Woolworths as they had the cheapest prices in comparison to Amazon and Tesco. When I finalised the order, I noticed that the video would take 2-3 days to dispatch, while the CD was going to take a little longer - 2-3 weeks (understandably due to its lesser popularity), and that the items would be dispatched separately as they became available. ..." "...a good 30+ items from woolworths.co.uk mostly CDS DVDS and games although there has been other products such as toys and homewares. they offer a good service where you can order an item (which gets charged to your card once dispatched) and have it delivered to home which is free for CDS, DVDS and games or £4.95 for other items of have them delivered to store to pick up for free. Had what the store in town didn't

Advantageseasy to navigate, had stock that the store didn't

Disadvantagesnone yet

"When my daughter's Baby Furby went on the blink shortly after Christmas I tried to get it replaced. The major toy store I bought it from did not have it stocked anymore and any of the stores in town only carried it at the extortionate price of £21.99. I was not about to pay that. Finally after much searching on the web I had a look at the Woolworth's site. The Woolworths in town were not at all helpful and looked blankly at me when I asked if ..." Read review

Woolworths stuck in the last century!

AdvantagesNone that I can see

DisadvantagesPoor service & unreliability

"What can I say about shopping with Woolworths online? Dire springs to mind! I was searching for (an admittedly fairly obscure) CD in all the usual places when I stumbled across the Woolworths online store. Sure enough, there it was, at a reasonable price. I Ordered the CD early August , accepting the 2-3 weeks likely delay. Nothing arrived until late November and then it was the wrong one. Wrong artist, wrong title, wrong everything. I could live ..." Quick review of Woolworths.co.uk

"Don't buy anything electrical from Woolworths. 15 months ago bought the Disney Pixar TV/DVD Combi for my son's birthday. About 10 months into warranty the DVD became intermittent in starting and stops part way through a film. It has not been overly used, about an hour a day. Due to holiday and Christmas did not get round to reporting it until over 12 months. Contacted Woolworths and supplied reviews from Amazon and Buzzillion of similar problems and they will not exchange it. I've got to pay for an examination of the problem and they will decide whether to pay for it or not. The manufacturer is from the Far East and no UK Office so can not go to them.

Its well worth it

AdvantagesEverything

"Good old Woolworths is back with a bang online. Shortly after Woolworths stores closing nationwide across the UK the website closed down. Everyone thought that was the end of Woolworths but it was not after months of rebuilding the site back up it was finally back online. I recently purchased my first thing from Woolworths since making it's comeback this summer. I purchased FIFA 10 on the PS3 it ws due to be released on October the 2nd but to my ..." Read review

Excellent service

AdvantagesEverything

DisadvantagesNone

"I decided to buy a Wii Fit+ after Xmas, when we had weeks of snow & ice, and no chance of decent exercise. Unfortunately, everyone else seemed to have had the same idea, and there were no local shops with any stock. Most online stores had no stock, my normal port of call, Amazon, had hiked the price to over £110 (obviously taking advantage of the situation) and the others were all unknowns. I searched reviews of stores & chose Woolies. I have no regrets ..." Read review

Take a Tip

AdvantagesEasy comfortable

Disadvantagesnone

"Woolworths online shopping is an Ideal way to look round your Woolies store without leaving home. The site is very easy to navigate, it's fast and the online ordering is easy to use. A great advantage of this site is that when your goods are delivered, you can decide if you wish to keep them, or you can return them by freepost, or better still you can take them back to your local Woolworths store who will refund you there and then with no hassle. ..." Woolworths.co.uk - My Worst Online Shopping Experience

AdvantagesFast Email Response

DisadvantagesUseless Email Response; Incorrect Refunds; Lies; No Apologies

"My experience with Woolworths.co.uk - they are: Cowardly and rude. They apparently had a problem with my order for a full week, cancelling within a few hours of the expected delivery, but I still have not received a single email from their customer services to apologise for a problem, to explain that my order has been cancelled, or to explain why. Three emails asking these questions have had the questions entirely ignored. Not a single human response ..." Read review
