Advantages Advantages Hot water and central heating on demand

Disadvantages Disadvantages The cost of installation

As I said in my previous opinion about our new washing machine, when we moved into this house in July, things were definitely not as they had appeared to be! We had a conventional hot water tank with an immersion heater that worked so we could get hot water, but when we tried the central heating, there was nothing doing. We couldn’t get it to work on the timer or by manually switching it on and off. And so it came to pass that the plumber was called. We’d found ourselves a good plumber who had been as part of the group of people building and kitting out the en suite bathroom in mom and dad’s ... more

2 Stars Good but overrated Review with images 03/02/2009

    Advantages Advantages Customer service

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Everything else.

The Worcester Greenstar boilers are probably the most overrated boilers on the market. Often people argue that the boilers are very good quality German boilers, in reality these boilers are not German but are actually made Worcester, UK! I would not describe these boilers as "rubbish"or "unreliable" but rather over hyped and not worth how much there are. Another thing about these boilers is that if you really wanted to get this boiler you would have to get the top of the range model to make your purchase worth it. The problem is that the standard and budget models are often not of the best ... more

I had a Worchester Bosch gas combi boiler installed about 4 months ago. I waited so long for writing a review on it because I wanted to make sure that I am writing a review after I test it. So, me and my wife moved into a two bed split level flat in London, which was in a very poor condition, having an old warm air heating system and a separate hot water heater which smelled gas when fired up ! I wanted to change all this and I decided to go for a combi boiler to save space - you know that the flats in London are pretty small, actually But which combi boiler to choose? I read a lot of ... more

Advantages Advantages Great Service/Warranty Package; easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing yet.

We had the Worcester / Bosch Combi Boiler Greenstar 30CDi installed in May this year, having recently moved into a house with a pre-historic back boiler. Having had over 8 heating engineers round to quote for the job and provide advice on their preference of boiler for our 3-bed semi, and then having reviewed the various boiler recommended (Valiant etc) we opted for the Worcester / Bosch Combi Boiler Greenstar 30CDi primarily on family recommendations, the fact that it came with 2 year warranty (3 years if installed by a Worcester installation engineer - as ours was) but the winning factor ... more

4 Stars Quick review of Worcester Combi Boiler by highflowbarney 08/06/2007
We inherited a Worcester Bosch Highflow 400 seven years ago. It has chuntered away in the utility room giving us instant heat and water with relatively little trouble in all that time. It is sensitive to drops in pressure in the system (ours is a sealed system) so when we use the boiler relatively little ie on holiday or during summer it can cut out. We have to top up the water using a spiggot attached to the pipework outside the boiler, remove the front to check the pressure gauge which is a bit of a fag and press the reset ... more

Advantages Advantages When it works it is very efficient.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Noisy and unreliable - due to the pipes I believe

I had my old Vaillant boiler which I had for 12 yrs replaced as it was noisy even though efficient. I bought the Worcester Combi as it came with a 5yr warranty. I've only had it installed since May with an authorised dealer (yes, I did everything by the book!). My boiler has been making water gurgling noises when the temp drops in the night. This has been happening since Sep. I had Heatforce Cardiff look at it in Oct and they said nothing was wrong, then I contacted Worcester Bosch direct and they sent someone out in Nov and again said it was OK. Dec with the freezing temp the noise was so bad ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent energy efficiency and money savings over older versions

Disadvantages Disadvantages Time lag to generate hot water on economy mode

My wife & I decided to research our required product before going ahead with the installation. We spent a while doing this to ensure we got exactly what we wanted and more to the point what we required for the house we had just purchased. After looking at many manufactures websites and reviews on this and other sites and in conultation with the Corgi registered plumber, who we had chosen to do the installation, we decided on the Worcester / Bosch Greenstar Condensing combi 30CDi. The Actual installation took two days but his also included having all our radiators fitted with Thermostatic ... more

Be warned- I had the above boiler installed sept.2008- guaranteed for 5 years- the boiler has been repaired twice in less than 6 months- now however now . it is the controls that are not working - contacted worcester bosch- and they informed me THEY DO NOT GUARANTEEE THE CONTROLS- these do not come under the guarantee- was told to contact the installer- Delta ne. Advantages Advantages pumps heat out, when the thermostat isnt fault which is often

Disadvantages Disadvantages two new thermostats within three months of new- can't be coincidence

The boiler is fine -- I had one fitted at the end of October 2007 and it's excellent. The digitizing thermostat (wireless) is so unreliable it is next to useless. Give Worcester their due - their jolly little call centre does call back and arrange a visit and replacement very quickly but . . The thermostat began to dysfunction on 21st Dec- by 29th Dec I'd had enough of no heating, coming home to an icy home. Once I reset the receiver it worked fine. . Until the next time - two or three times a day I had to reset it. Waste of money! Worcester replaced the thermostat and receiver in 8th January ... more

1 Star Quick review of Worcester Combi Boiler by zeegoman 20/04/2007
Model Bosh Scottish Gas ICC2. Lasted 4 years before heat exchanger packed in causing £1000 worth of repairs or maybe a new boiler. Sold as Rolls Royce more like a Morris Minor. Don't waste your money buy a cheaper one so that when it fails you don't feel so bad. PS this is the second condensing type boiler to fail on the heat exchanger in 13 years. Can someone tell me how this benefits the environment?
