Advantages: hours of great game play Disadvantages: poor colour quality on the balls
I bought world championship snooker 07 for my partner because he really loves playing his sports games and he also loves playing snooker down at the local snooker hall so i knew he would really enjoy playing this game.
This game has six modes of play which I will list below although I can only give information on four of them as the other two modes I have not done myself as yet but as soon as I have i will update.
The two modes I cannot comment ... ...start at 52nd in the world and your player stats are really poor you have to pre qualify for tournements and if you win a match you earn points these points can then be used to build up your player stats and also earn you ranking points to put you higher up and nearer to becoming number one in the world.
In this mode the tournaments you play are opens,masters and world championship.

...including the Masters and the World Championship. You start out with low stats and a low ranking (so have to play through qualifying rounds against lowly opponents to reach the tournaments proper) but as you start to win games you earn points which can be converted to skill enhancements (such as improved potting, spin, safety etc) and your ranking improves.
The game can also be played in three different formats, short, medium and full, typically ... ...The choice will probably depend on how patient you are and how much time you have on your hands...
...and you will need LOTS of time to play this and get the most out of it. Normally I go for games which are fast, fast, fast, like Need for Speed, fast and tactical like Rainbow Six or fast and crunchy like Gears of Phwoar (Phwoar as it looks PROPER SEXY on my new Samsung telly - see my reviews of both for more if you're interested). Advantages: lots of snooker and pool to play. Disadvantages: commentary gets repetative after a while.
i have found world snooker championship 2007 on the xbox 360 to be a fantastic snooker simulation game.
the commentary is good and the graphics are excellent and the controls are very straight forward basicly pick up and play.
you can create your own character to use which is a good feature as it gives that sense of playing as yourself.
the best feature of this game is the new positional play where you get a black circle showing you where the ... ...much easier to plan your next shot, i found this makes the game way better than previous versions.
although this has snooker in the title you can also play the pool championship either the 8 ball or 9 ball games are available to play.
there is also a trickshot mode to play and online multiplayer mode too, if you like snooker then you will be playing this game for ages. ...
