Things have been dark lately for Sonic who was once a lone hero facing the forces of evil single handily. Even when Tails arrived, the final levels were still all down to the red-shoed hedgehog. Since then there have been characters left right and centre, some have been well received, Knuckles for instance was a welcomed addition both as a villain then as hero. I mean Sonic & Knuckles is a 2D classic. However most additions, especially the last few games, seem hell bent on destroying what was once beautiful.
