    Disadvantages Disadvantages headset

We all know that nothing will ever beat a top quality PC rig for gaming. But if you want the best console (at around a quarter of the price of a PC rig) then the Xbox is definitely the best choice you can make. From unboxing, I knew that I’d made a good choice. The console comes well cushioned and padded. The outer box isn’t too ‘over the top’, simply displaying a few features. The extra included things (headset, power supply, controller w/ 2x AA batteries, standard definition AV cable) were separated into their own bags and compartments within the box (something mirrored with Xbox LIVE – the ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast, fun, loads of features and great graphics.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Online is expensive, needs batteries for the controller.

Right, there is no stupid fanboy stuff in this. Just to start off. I sold my PS3 recently, to buy one of these. And I have to say that the Xbox is much better. Starting off with the design, it generally looks very sleek and nice, I've got the matte version, because I don't like fingerprint magnets. It has two touch sensitive buttons to turn it on, and open the disk tray, which I absolutely love. It's a small thing, but it counts. It has 5 USB ports, which is very good over the PS3's 2 USB ports. I think it has 2 HDMI ports in it too, I'm not sure, so don't go by what I say on that. The setup ... more

4 Stars Xbox 360 Slim - Worth It? Review with images 01/07/2010
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages ''Whisper Quiet'' ''Beautiful Design'' ''Boastful 250GB Internal Hardive'' ''Handy 802.11n Wi-Fi'

Disadvantages Disadvantages ''No Significant Changes To Performance'' ''Wireless interrupted when upstairs''

Xbox 360 Slim - Worth it? Looks May Decieve In the opinion of many people, it now appears that Microsoft's new release of their Xbox 360 Slim (as it's unofficial nickname) or Xbox 360 as its Official status is what's known as a smart but pointless release. In terms of it's new design the 'New Xbox 360 has really come upmarket it an attractive way, the new sleek design really does make it a proud member of your Entertainment Area and boosts that professional look, but it's Piano Black finish really does become an ''A class'' finger magnet and after polish disintegrates the delicate finish ... more

Advantages Advantages Massive hard drive, wireless connection built-in, HDMI, so much quieter than the old model

Disadvantages Disadvantages Maybe the price, audio cables

I recently recieved the Micrososft Xbox 360 Slim with 250 GB hard disk for my birthday. This was a replacement for my original xbox 360 which keeps crashing and is about to give up on me entirely. The first thing that struck me is the noise, or lack of it, when I turned the new console on. Previous models are famous for sounding like a jumbo jet trying to take off, but happily this version of the console is more compact, much quieter, and far less likely to overheat. If you're into DLC (Downloadable Content) for your games, the 250gb hard disk gives you plenty of room. With the massive choice ... more

Advantages Advantages Great catalogue of games, good range of features

Disadvantages Disadvantages Loud, would of been to include the transfer cable.

I bought this model of Xbox 360 after my first one died with an E72 error after 5 years of usage. Unlike the first design, this one has in-built wifi which is a useful addition. The box also includes a wireless controller, a composite cable (which doesn't include a component cable unlike the other xbox I owned), power cables and a headset. It has a glossy black finish, which for me is alittle too shiny, but it's not too offensive. The device was easy to set-up and once powered on, it was easy to get going and start playing games. I do like that Microsoft made it relatively easy to transfer ... more

Advantages Advantages Kinect adapter built-in, more USB drives and no need ring of death!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Touch buttons not really necessary!

Since Microsoft have had major problems with their previous iterations of their popular Xbox 360 consoles, they have decided to release and new and improved revision of Xbox360. Here are the changes listed 1. No more red ring of death- or so Microsoft says. Plus the fact they removed the red LEDs, so it there is a problem the users won't know about it. Probably the amount of extra air vents they have added to the machine help with the overheating issue that has the plagued the Xbox360 since day one! 2. Smaller design. The new Xbox360 is 1/4 smaller than the original Xbox360 and Elite models ... more

Advantages Advantages 250GB HDD, Quiet, Slimmer, Built in WIFI, More Reliabe

Disadvantages Disadvantages Loud Power Supply, Get's Very Hot

Microsoft has just released an update to one of the most successful consoles ever. It's been dubbed the Xbox 360 Slim, but the official name is the Xbox 360 Elite. Is it me or will some customers be confused by microsoft's inability to distinguish the two very different consoles. Onto the console itself. In recent years, Microsoft has tried to defend their consoles against the RROD error, they released numerous different versions of chipsets to help, but to no avail, many still complained of RRODs. Thankfully this console won't recieve these bizzare errors (apparently). The console has a new ... more

Advantages Advantages Whisper Quiet, smaller design, great system

Disadvantages Disadvantages still runs hot, censors for open tray and power buttons can be frustrating

Great improvement from the old Xbox 360, Microsoft really did well with this system. A great purchase for anybody who does not yet own an Xbox yet. If you already own an Xbox however, it is not really worth the purchase. Its sleek and shiny new look even makes it look like an improvement. It also comes Kinect ready, which is great for anybody looking to purchase a Kinect. "Kinect ready" means that it has an extra slot for the Kinect to connect to. The normal Xbox 360 can also use the Kinect, except it will need to use a USB port instead of the port that the new Xbox 360 already has available ... more

    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Quiet cooling fan, Slim design, built in storage, built in Wi-FI.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive

The new 2010 design for Microsoft's Xbox360 is a massive improvement to the previous console. The main improvement is the new slim black design that is much smaller than the previous console. In feel that the built in wi-fi is a massive bonus as there is no extra hardware that needs to be bought to enable wireless online game-play. New touch buttons on the console are a great addition to the console as it means that all that needs to be done to turn the console on or open the disk tray is swipe your finger across the icon on the console itself. During game-play the console is very quiet ... more

Advantages Advantages Beautifully designed, excellent game play, good value, awesome XBOX LIVE.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Heat's up a lot.

I am an XBOX man. I have had Playstation's come and go, but this machine is the one. The sleek design, quieter than before cooling system (how effective, I'm not sure), and touch button fascia are all welcome additions. Internal Wi-Fi is the consoles strongest point over previous XBOX releases, because it allows you to get XBOX LIVE. Consoles will never be as good as PC gaming, but this comes mighty close. The graphics and sound performance are excellent with the HDMI outlet, and with 5 USB ports an external hard drive or flash drive can be read and used. I find the console easy to use, meaning ... more
