The flexibility that YAC offers with it's variety of options appears to be better than other competing services. The fact that you can set up two forwarding numbers which it will try is useful, as is the ability to select where to have voice mail sent to. You can use another voice mail sevice (eg divert it to your mobile) or have all voicemail messages sent to YAC so you can pick them up together. Be careful how you set up all your diverts and voice ...
...and have things looping around. YAC also offers the option to set the number to voice only, fax only or voice and fax. I have only seen one other service which offers slightly better forwarding options but that one wasn't free, unlike YAC. Free to the user that is. To sign up for YAC - its free. As a user, to use YAC its free. But nothing in life is free right! So who pays? Well, with this unified number service, its the caller who pays sligtly extra. But then when you think a mobile phone costs more, is this a problem. I have had my YAC number for 2 years now. It can be configured in 3 ways; Voice only, Fax only and Voice & Fax. All inbound messages are emailed to an address of your choice, as attachments in your choice of format. YAC will forward inbound calls to just about any landline or mobile number in the world, can it can try several numbers in sequence, if you wish. I have never received a 'junk fax' on it, and even if I did receive one, no paper need be wasted in printing it. I think this is down to the mobile-style charges that the caller has to pay. Since getting my own personal YAc number, the amount of calls i have received has risen massively. people always know they will get through to me, and will not have to speak to some answering phone, or voice mail, which costs them and me, which is a waste of time.
