Advantages: Cheap and Function Packed Disadvantages: None As Yet
...revealed a possible successor: the Yakumo DVD Master XL2. Amazon seemed to stock these little beauties at £35…. yes that’s right £35!!! Now I had Amazon vouchers to the value of £20 and was almost stupefied that I could get this delivered for a sum total of £15 with Amazon’s Supersaver delivery… not bad but there had to be a catch, didn’t there? Surely £35 meant that I was buying a budget item that either wouldn’t work properly, wouldn’t sound good ... ...Goodmans had previously done. Reading the reviews posted on the Amazon site my mind was put at ease as every single one indicated that the player was well worth the money. Ciao reviews confirmed this too. On with the purchase I thought… and I did.
Arrival of the Product
The product arrived bang on date, much to my pleasure. All packaging is pretty much dull and lifeless in this price bracket and this player is no different but it really isn’t important ...

Advantages: Mutli Region Multi Disc Multi Cheap Disadvantages: Fisher Price Power Button
...few hundred saved up. The Yakumo was the obvious choice since i had some region one DVDs. When it arrived I wasn’t expecting much for 35 quid but I was amazed when I opened the package. You can tell a quality of a DVD player by the build quality and looks well this has both. Still it’s about visual and video quality isn’t it. So I stuck in first contact for 5.1 Dolby digital from the coax to the AV and the sound and picture quality is up with a player ... ...sound is amazing. Stuck in a few CDs, Nirvana, Emiliana Torrini and some Godspeed you black emperor and they all sounded superb. I don’t think I 'll be buying that expensive player after all. I’m not going to fool you into thinking its a pioneer DV656 but it does rival players of the 100 pound mark at 35 quid inc delivery this was the bargain of the universe. This budget player even out performs my expensive Panasonic A110 in terms of sound & picture ...

Advantages: Multi-region, good audio/video quality, very low price, lots of features, player seems well made Disadvantages: Remote control could be better, MP3 player a bit buggy
I have used lots of cheap electronics in the past, they usually do work but they look cheap and hardly have any features - this however is different.
Not only does it do everything it's supposed to do perfectly (I've played Region 1 and 2 DVDs on it, Audio CDs and CD-Rs, MP3's and PhotoCDs) it looks quite good (if a little square) and seems well made too. DVD video playback is perfect (as good as the best I've seen) and it can output in PAL and ... ...is a bit quiet when compared to TV broadcasts and videos but I haven't used another DVD player on my TV so this could be true for all DVD players. The instructions are pretty good too.
The real only problem I've noticed is the MP3 player sometimes mis-labelling tracks but this could've been just the CD I was using and its ability to play MP3s probably isn't important to you anyway (it's not to me :P) and doesn't happen often. The remote control ...

Advantages: Highly affordable Multi-Region DVD Player Disadvantages: Bulky looking remote control
I recently purchased a region 1 DVD from America but was unable to play it on my JVC player as it was region 2. After many hours of trawling the net looking for access codes I eventually decided it was a lot less hassle to buy a multiregion player-another £150 I thought. How wrong could I be? For under £35 with free P+P I decided on probably the cheapest Multiregion DVD player around. When it arrived I couldn't believe how thin it was compared to ... ...style drawer. The general appearance of the XL2 puts my JVC to shame, with an array of playback features including DVD R, DVD RW, VCD, SVCD, JPG-CD, MP3, CD, CD-R and CD-RW to mention a few. The picture and sound quality are excellent and they even give you the batterys for the remote and a scart lead. So if you want a quality multiregion DVD player but don't want the £150 price tag buy one of these-no actually for that price I'd buy two!!!!! ...

Advantages: Great quality and sound without the price Disadvantages: Not really compatible with LG sets
The DVD Master XL2 is Yokumo’s first plunge into the world of DVD Players and have started with a red hot deal. The XL2 is a stylish looking player packed with features with an astonishing low price. Playing all formats i.e. DVD (-R, +R, -RW, +RW), VCD, SVCD, CD-audio, Kodak Picture CD, JPG-CD, MP3, CD, CD-R and CD-RW media shows the excellent value and first class product you are getting for such an outstanding price.
With all the required connections ... ...SCART out, composite video out, coaxial digital out and s-video) this player can be hooked up to anything.
With extra features like picture-by-picture slow motion, programmable playback sequence or random play, zoom, manual title-search, parental lock as well as subtitles and multiple view angles go to make the DVD Master XL2 more than just a run-of-the-mill DVD player.
Included in the box is a stylish remote control (batteries are included), multi-language ...

Advantages: nice features and looks Disadvantages: a few clitches with the remote and a bit slow to start up/load dvds.
I was bought this dvd player as a present to replace my playstation2( i had a few problems with playing dvds).
I found it to be a great dvd player and a vast improvement on my playstation2!
It is a nice design being 'skinny' and just the right size to fit ontop of my denom amp! I like the lcd screen (looks silver untill turned on).
The dvd player is of good quality and can play multi region dvds(my main problem with last one).
It is multi region! ... ...exactly sure which versions/ones, has playe the ones ive tried, i think cdr rw etc)
The instructions say it can work with a nstc tv, but I found that mine wouldnt (dont know if its mine or tall of them).
The features are as you would expect with a higher priced dvd player , zoom in and out?? (not sure why you would want this), slow mo(4 different speeds), 4 different speeds of fast forward and rewind , play stop, pause, go to chapter, audio options(you ...

Advantages: Value for money, compact, sleek and groovy Disadvantages: Haven't found any yet
I had been searching for some months online to find a good reasonable price for this DVD player. I had read many excellent reviews about it so I knew I had to buy it. I managed to buy it on ebay (brand new) from someone who chose not even to open the box for an incredible £20. With postage it came to about £28. A real bargain I am very happy with it. The many reason I bought it for was it's capability of playing DVD, VCD, SVCD, CD-audio, Kodak picture ... ...with its very own scart lead. I prefer to buy things with all the essentials in one box and not having to worry about buying additional bits to get it working.
I fell in love with it. It has good onscreen menus and a useful remote control. Amazingly light for quite a bulky looking remote control. There are many buttons I never use but it is reassuring that they are there just in case I find a need for them in the future.
I have played American ...

Advantages: Good value for money Disadvantages: Perhaps not as many features as more expensive ones
I've had this DVD player for a while now. I bought it about a year ago simply because it was cheap, and I was suprised at how good it actually is! I have never had a problem with it. It is multi regional. The sound and picture is very good quality. It is very starightforward to install and very easy to use, as is the remote control. The range of features is extensive, but perhaps not as many as the more expensive DVD players. However, it is an exceptionally ...
