One fine amp...

Advantages: good sound, both in stereo and surround
Disadvantages: no digital inputs.

...bought a pristine second hand Yamaha DSP-A592 home cinema amp from Richer Sounds for £135. This uses yamaha's natural sound technology, and whilst I had previously never attributed much to that badge, the sound does seem to be a lot better than the Sherwood 1010RX stereo receiver I used to use. I find the amp sounds very good in both stereo and surround modes, but suffers from not having any digital inputs, and thus only has prologic decoding. It ...
...sumthing a bit newer and with digital inputs you should go and check out the other yamaha DSP range, especially the A5 as that is the succesor to my machine and is only another £140. GO and check them out..... and see if you can hear the 'natural sound'... ...
