Advantages Advantages high quality, good price

Disadvantages Disadvantages the CD is unpleasant

I was a person who had just finished school; and I had definitely needed to learn something. I had thus decided to buy a Guitar. I bought the Yamaha acoustic F310 for a reasonable whole Argos price of £100, I chose this one because it was rated as a very good beginner guitar. The rating I had recieved on my computer on a page called about.com top 5 begginer acoustics. F3100 is number 2. I would be 18 years and before I buyed the F310 I would have never held a guitar before in my life so I did not have an absolute idea how to play it. It was thus by practicing and experimenting for many hours ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to learn on, good size.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only six spare strings.

My Girlfiend bought this guitar as part of a Starter package, replacing a cheaper guitar,(cost £69),she had allready bought and out grown. The Kit cost £99 and came with a small music book of songs to learn, a cd to play along with, guitar tuner pipe, four plectrums and a spare set of strings (6). The Guitar... The guitar is very well finished and has a lovely colour to the wood work, all the joints are well fitted together and there is no overlaps, as on the cheaper model. All the six strings are in place and almost in tune, you will have to tune it your self. The 'keys' for tuning in the ... more

    Advantages Advantages cheap, starter guitar

    Disadvantages Disadvantages cheap-looking finish, small

Well the first thing that should be said when reviewing a guitar is that a lot of it comes down to personal taste, so one shouldn't rely on anyone elses opinion without trying it themselves, so this will be based on how I found this guitar. I originally became aware of this guitar's existence in the market by looking around on a guitar shop website, who recommended this (amongst a few others) as good guitars for starter players. On the strength of this recommendation I went into my local guitar shop to try it out and see if I liked it. I guess the first thing that one judges a guitar on is its ... more

Advantages Advantages High quality for price, durable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Accompanying book is of little use

I have had my F 310 now for over two years and would be delighted to recommend it as a first, or even second acoustic guitar. The start up package that I got all those years ago (2 years seems like an age ago now somehow) included the Yamaha F 310 acoustic guitar, beginner songbook and an accompanying CD. The guitar itself is of a high quality for the price, and I'm pretty sure that it's the UK's premier selling acoustic guitar at the moment. It is not difficult to see why, with a warm and potentially powerful tone, this is a quality bit for kit for the price paid. Admittedly this guitar ... more

    Advantages Advantages Lightweight and economical

Disadvantages Disadvantages not acoustic-electric is the only disadvantage

I just bought the F310 for $50 Canadian, brand new. You guys think you got a good deal! Oh yeah, this guitar is all that and some. It sounds great, plays great. It is easy to play, the4 action on it is very good. It's not a pro setting, but it is pretty close, and that makes it easy to play high up the neck. It is lightweight, therefore easier to carry around and easier on the lower back for shows. I bought it as a beater because I have more expensive guitars, like $800 Seagulls', and I'm blown away by how good this cheap guitar really is. If you get a chance to buy one, take it. You won't be ... more

Advantages Advantages Good sound for a cheap price

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Thin neck

This guitar is an all time classic. I have had mine for about three years now. It is still in perfect working order without a scratch on it. This shows it is very well constructed and mine was made in China. I mean for such a cheap price aswell. The appereance is nothing special. It is your classic dreadnought guitar and i believe to get that great sound when strumming, you need that perfect body shape. And that is what the guitar has. A large body that amplifies the sound and produces it crisp and clear. The fret board is somewhat of a problem, due to its only 23 fret neck. You can play a ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap, good size

Disadvantages Disadvantages Soft sound, too much bass

This acoustic guitar is great for beginers. Not that a pro could'nt play it, or that a beginer couldn't play a 2000$ guitar, it's just that if you don't know if you'll play guitar for a long time, investing 2000$ is not a good idea. It will give you a great idea what it is to play guitar. This guitar is normal-sized, so it is not too small. It is also solidly built and, has I had it for 3 years now, I can say that it hasn't changed at all.. Sound is basically the same, it hasn't warped and the frets are not coming out of the fretboard. Apart from that, the sound quality is not good. Even if ... more
