Yamaha XT600E

The XT600E is a strange beast. A four stroke single cylinder on/off road bike which is greatly favoured in the likes of France and Germany but rarely seen over here (UK). I bought a 1992 machine last year from a friend for the princely sum of £1400. I was suffering withdrawal symptoms having sold my year old ZX-6R a few months before. I sold the ZX-6R because every journey on that beautiful bike was "Engage warp speed Scotty" stuff. Totally mental, ...
...a potential jail case. So I thought something tamer but "different" (different in that every second bike in the UK is a sports bike) would satiate my lust while allowing me to keep my licence. In the end it was a love/hate relationship and it left me for one of dozens of clamouring buyers a few months later. The bike would do 105 mph on the clock lying flat on the tank. Review of Yamaha XT600E

I purchased my XT600 new in 2002, and I'm afraid that it only comes out of the garage in dry weather. If you are looking for a fast thrill machine then don't buy one of these, if, however you want a very dependable bike for commuting to the office then this is the bike for you. Very easy to handle in the long traffic queues, there is no arm ache due to the upright riding position. Not the fastest bike but there are 600cc's if you need them. Good ...
