Advantages: Sturdy, Much Cheapness, Throwaboutable
Disadvantages: Lack of power

The XT600E is a strange beast. A four stroke single cylinder on/off road bike which is greatly favoured in the likes of France and Germany but rarely seen over here (UK). I bought a 1992 machine last year from a friend for the princely sum of £1400. I was suffering withdrawal symptoms having sold my year old ZX-6R a few months before. Around town bike pulls good wheelies!

Advantages: Very nimble in traffic, comfortable seating position
Disadvantages: Slow, clunky gearchange

I purchased my XT600 new in 2002, and I'm afraid that it only comes out of the garage in dry weather. If you are looking for a fast thrill machine then don't buy one of these, if, however you want a very dependable bike for commuting to the office then this is the bike for you. Very easy to handle in the long traffic queues, there is no arm ache due to the upright riding position. Not the fastest bike but there are 600cc's if you need them. Good ... Read review
