Advantages: Fast, furious, handles great, accelerates great, stops brilliantly, looks wicked. Cheap insurance Disadvantages: Ugly end can. That's it.
...out around £250 a month for 2 years on the Yamaha 0% finance deal. Bargain! It arrives the day after I get home from sea in May so I'll be writing a new review on the latest model R6 once I've ridden it for a while. Expectations are high! ...

Advantages: Its a great pose, a great attention getter, and wonderful ride Disadvantages: I can think of none as a rider
I have both riden and pillioned on the R6 and like many other would vow never to do so again. This bike is definately a lone rider bike.
The riding position would suit people of a taller stature than myself (I'm 5'7)as the pegs are set quite low down. The weight and handleing are perfectly balanced, though I did find that a steering damper gave it just that little bit better responce.
I have fitted a double bubble screen to try and cut down on the ... ...riding at speed a lot smoother.
If a pillion is required then I would suggest a steadier pace is taken as it is easy to forget and loose your passanger at the first set of lights you pull away from.
Currently the parts for the R6 are still quite dear but are slowly dropping.
I have found this bike very easy to ride and very economical. There is very little space under the seat but as you wouldn't buy this bike to go on holiday with its not really ...

Advantages: Lovely little package Disadvantages: maybe to light!
...having ridden a few this Yamaha came as a nice surprise. Given that previously a Ducati 748 was as advanced as it got. All the toys on the digital dash the two trips the auto petrol trip were nice touches. as well as the getting up on a cold morning and just to know that the bike was going to start no questions asked.
The quality of the bike seemed relatively high as well this given I only had it for a month before it was stolen, raising another ... ...or so Kg and you could feel it such a nimble bike. However this also comes as a mixed bonus given the ease that thieving scum can lift them into a van hence the short time I had to get to know the bike. In this time though I did manage to rack up a few mile in all conditions. As I said a lovely bike to live with. An extremely easy bike to ride hard and throw round corners with the low seating also making getting your knee closer to the road. Given ...

I've been riding since I was 7 but have only been on the road for 8 years. In this time have ridden many different types of bikes ranging from crossers to big 1000's. The only one that I have not got tired of though is the R6. To start of with. These things go forever and get better. Mine currently has 28000 miles on, my friends has 40000 and they are still going strong. Service regularly and you will not have any problems. ... ...delivers its power a little on the aggressive side but it is easy to handle. It pulls best between 7 and 14000 just before its 14500 rpm limiter. I think it is geared that little bit more effectively compared to other 600 cc bikes. This bike comes with the same breaks as the R1 so you have no problem stopping aswell. The brakes bite and give positive feedback into every corner.
Corners are no problem either. It handles very well compared to other ...

Advantages: Its light, it goes, it stops, it looks great and it scores an A+ in all these categories!! Disadvantages: Its total race position, so if you want to do a lot of miles, you're gonna get wrist ache, and they dont like to go slow either!!
My first encounter with the Yamaha was back in 2001, when i took one out for a test ride from our local shop. It was V registered, red and awesomely fast. Unfortunately it was also £6000, so i was totally outpriced and went off home with my tail between my legs and a persistant niggle in the back of my brain telling me to sell those kidneys and get that bike! I bought a cheap 1984 GPz900r and ran it till it died then went on to a 1996 ZX9R. it was ... ...to move around. The R6 never left my system and found the hankering was getting too much to bear so after re MOT-ing my zx9r having only done 250 miles on it since the previous one i decided that now was definitely the time for change. Off i went down the bike shop, and there it was. The most fantastic blue (thats the most important bit!!) W reg 2000 R6. With a full akrapovic race system, im told cost about £1100 ouch, goodrich hoses all round, hugger, ...

Advantages: wow, screaming engine, good style Disadvantages: wind blast, small storage under the rear seat
I changed from a Thundercat to this bike after have a R6 as a lone bike whilst mine was being serviced.
The R6 is a fantastically agressive bike, the bike just want to do more, the riding style leaves you with a huge grin every time you ride it. The style and position leave you with a understanding of what the bike is for... Racing.
I found running the bike in very painful, as the bike likes to have the revs high, running like a two stroke, so ... ...weren't high. Once run in this isn't an issue as you can run it wild, the bike will alway take it and want more !
I do not find it uncomfortable, some do, and I am 6'1". I have rode to the T.T. without issue, and the bike was loaded up, it is less comfortable than the Thundercat and the screen is very low, so with a tank bag on the wind does catch it badly so I intend to put on a double bubble screen to help with the wind blast.
Pillons are in ...

Advantages: need a links page for bike insurance/clothes/bikes etc Disadvantages: nonoe - lets work together to produce a list to save everyone money
Firstly i want one of these bikes - they are superb - i think i've read every review (online adn in mags) about the bike and am very impressed with the year 2000 model.
But i don't like the price - i would like to buy brand new but have not found anywhere that has good prices - unlike car's there doesn't seem to be too many people selling bikes online..
I suggest we compile a list of the best web-sites for buying bikes/clothing/accessories for ...

Advantages: Great handling, excellent performance Disadvantages: None
I own a year 2000 model, which has been absolutley perfect for me. The handling is good, particularly around corners. You can comfortably reach 100 miles per hour within seconds. It is also a very good track bike as you can reach the speed and then drop down to corners very easily. Great for also doing wheelies and it's quite a comfortable ride over long distance. We've done about six hours quite comfortably. Even though this is not a brand new bike, ...
