5 Stars Luscious Lemonade & A Serenade of Cherries! Review with images 17/07/2011
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Subtle at first, tasty and heart warming scent, freshens too.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not much, may not suit all tastes, limited formats available.

Lemon candles are all the rage when the slightest hint of sunshine comes out. We're reminded months in advance that citronella candles ward away the midges, keep the bees away and any other flying insect who mistakes citronella candles to be anything but flowers, only to be burnt at the nearest hint of a naked flame! Whilst, I'm reminded that I have plenty of Yankee Candles left over and steadily getting through them to replace similar gifts that haven't done so well for fragrance and adjusting the spirit of homes, I couldn't help to check out the latest candle scents that Yankee Candle have ... more

As many of you will already be aware I am a massive fan of the Yankee Candle range which I only stumbled upon after reading lots of reviews of them! I tend to opt for the wax tarts which are basically a wickless piece of wax designed to be melted in a burner over the heat of a tea light candle and my latest purchase was a country lemonade tart. Now the reason I purchase wax tarts is because at around a pound or so they offer a cheap way in which to sample a fragrance. I have also found though that the fragrance seems to be more concentrated in the tarts than in the more expensive glass jar ... more

4 Stars Stunning summer fragrance from Yankee Review with images 07/05/2011
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Smells lovely, summery, fresh

Disadvantages Disadvantages slightly old fashioned tone to it

My boyfriend is a real romantic and is always doing lovely things for me. One of the little things he does is to buy me a present every month on the anniversary of our first date. This month, a few days prior to the anniversary, he left a new Yankee Candle tart sitting in the tart burner on my coffee table. From then on, pretty much every time I left the room, he'd replace it with a different fragrance, and then on the actual day he gave me the limited edition royal wedding candle. The first of the many, many wax tarts he gave me was the country lemonade, which I had been wanting to try for a ... more

As a lot of you may know by now I am a bit Yankee fan and am gradually working my way through the different fragrances, one of my favourite Yankee products is the Wax Tart, an excellent room freshener and an ideal and cheap way of trying out the different fragrances Yankee has to offer before you purchase the actual candles which are a lot more expensive especially if you go for the larger ones in the glass jars. One of my latest Yankee Candle Wax Tarts I purchased to try was the Country lemonade, I love anything that has a lemon fragrance so this particular one really appealed to me, so when ... more

Tarty candles Yankee is a company that is based in the US and produces a wide range of scented candles that come in a range of sizes and fragrances. The one I am reviewing here is a wax tart which can't technically be described as a candle as it has no wick! Instead, you pop the tart into a special tart burner - or you can just use a normal oil burner as I do - and light a tealight underneath to melt the wax and release the fragrance. You can generally get up to ten hours use out of the tarts as you can re-use them. Wax tarts tend to cost between £1-1.50, and it is well worth shopping around ... more

Yankee Candle Country Lemonade Wax Tart Having had great success with the other recent Yankee Lemon Tart purchase when I saw this slightly different lemon fragrances one I snapped at the chance to give this a go as well. I always thought I didn't really like lemon but as it turns out it is such a nice fragrance to have in and around the house. Price and Availability My local shop where I do most of my Yankee Candle purchases sell their tarts at a very competitive price of 90 pence each but the tarts have a RRP of £1.10p and as with most thing that prices do vary depending on where you buy them ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to open & use, smells lovely, not overpowering, good price, long lasting.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

A few months ago we celebrated our wedding anniversary and we went away for a little break to celebrate in style. While there we visited an Edinburgh Woollen Mill and they had a 'fragrance of the month' Yankee candle. Now I have a vast array of candles at home that I am always trying to remember to light on a daily basis so I was quite restrained and picked up one wax tart and one sampler size candle of this 'country lemonade' fragrance. In addition to the wax tarts and sampler size candles you can also purchase small, medium & large glass jars too in any of the several hundred fragrances ... more

    5 Stars Zesty Tart! 01/05/2012
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Fresh, zesty fragrance, long lasting, good value

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing

I had never even heard of Yankee candles until I started reading people's reviews of them on Dooyoo. Like most people I love for my home to smell nice and also have a love of scented candles but I am often left disappointed by the lack of fragrance that actually comes from most of them. The first Yankee candle wax tart that I treated myself to was Christmas Eve which was just wonderful. But recently with the weather taking a turn towards Spring I have been trying more fruity fragrances. At the weekend I decided to pop into Clintons Cards and found that they had some Yankee candles on sale so ... more

Advantages Advantages Great fragrance, easy to use, value for money

Disadvantages Disadvantages Color is not as strong

As I have mentioned in my previous reviews, I am a huge Yankee Candle fan. I have tried a wide range of their scents but I always return to the fruit based scents. I am not much of a flower or food girl. I like my candles to be uplifting and fresh smelling, and that is exactly how I would describe the Country Lemonade candle. I often like to burn candles at the weekend whilst I am relaxing so that I can truly enjoy the full effects of their scent. It really adds something special to a lazy day off work. It always makes everything seem so much more indulgent. I usually but the wax tarts or ... more

    4 Stars Lemon Love 30/10/2012
    User recommends the product

    Advantages Advantages Nice fresh smell

Disadvantages Disadvantages Wish it lasted longer

I love the Yankee Candle Wax Tarts and this country lemonade one is a popular one with me.. I was a bit worried that the lemon smell would be more akin to washing up liquid than lemonade but it avoids that as there is a nice sweetness to the smell and one that lasts a long time. It manages to avoid the fake lemon smell that some products produce. The wax tart is a fairly conventional one, a nice chunk of wax in a sort of cup cake design and it is a rich, deep yellow colour. It certainly has a nice fresh summer smell and the scent is released slowly as the wax melts and forms a liquid. In all ... more
