time to de-clutter the house - again

Advantages: lots of brilliant ideas for the home
Disadvantages: none

Since writing this op Your Home magazine has changed slightly. There is a price reduction and unfortunately there are 16 pages less but it is still a fabulous magazine. What's more though, I have recently subscribed to it at a cost of just £1.00 per issue! That's a whopping saving of £7.20 per year! Time to update this op so please give it a read and re-rate if necessary! Cheers xxx Your Home magazine is a brilliant mag for the home-lover! It gives ...

My home is my castle...

Advantages: Not expensive, great hints and ideas
Disadvantages: to each his own!

...on decorating /revamping and accessorising your home / garden and it covers most budgets. What’s It Like? Well, for a start, it very rarely comes in one of those plastic bag thingies, with lots of useless junk paper. The cover is bright and usually eye catching. It does the ‘peak your interest’ bit quite well, for instance, on the June issue (which came out at the beginning of May!) – “I transformed my dingy garden in 24 hrs for £100” or “37 clever ...
...‘how to’ do things around your home. This is usually a main decorating feature; this time it’s how to make room feel light and bright, plus a few tips on flooring and using patterns on walls and fabrics. Major competition - £20,000 (top prize) spending spree at Debenhams, plus various other monetary rewards. Downside – it costs 75p a minute to find out if the number on the front cover has won anything! Back to the magazine – quite good tips on how ...

Great Homestyle At A price You Can Afford

Advantages: Loads - see text
Disadvantages: none

What a super magazine Your Home Is. I have been buying it since the first issue and as I buy a lot of these types of magazine because of my great interest in interior design, a magazine has be be good to live up to some of the competition. (There are many other great home style mags out there too). What I really like about this particular title is the fact that the products they feature are affordable and the interiors featured use items which can ...
...Home which includes products way out of my budget). Readers' homes are trendy, of all styles, often colourful and individual (not just like showhomes) and there are always plenty of pages featuring garden style too. The July / Aug issue has a 'Decorator Of The Year' competition, which I might go in for next year - we're just about to move house which needs re-doing from top to bottom :-) All in all this magazine is bright and breezy and appeals to ...

Small price to pay for home improvement!

Advantages: Good value with good ideas
Disadvantages: None

Your Home magazine is about home improvement ideas, generally on a smaller budget. It has a cheap'n'cheerful feel to it - not a glossy mag with thick glossy pages, but it does pack in a lot for the money. I particularly like the cheap'n'cheerful aspect of the magazine because it feels accessible - you feel that the improvement ideas are not going to be wildly expensive or out of your league skill-wise. This makes it feel a lot more personal than ...
...they are more about wishful thinking rather than "roll-up-sleeves and get stuck in". Overall, I think if you are looking for ideas you can achieve yourself, Your Home magazine is really good value. It has feeling of accessibility which I find encourages me to try things for myself. ...

best home improvement magazine on market

Advantages: cheap and helpful
Disadvantages: uses expensive model furniture etc

...on real homes. Your Home gives you helpful information on how to tackle diy jobs such as laying underfloor heating, putting up a shed and also more simple tasks like re-vamping a photo frame. This is a magazine aimed at women who want to do more than just pick a colour scheme or take up a curtain. Every month there are real make-over sections where people have written in with their own home-makeover (inc tips on how to do it yourself), jobs to do ...
...helpful ideas for brightening up your home. My only disappointment with YourHome is that i think when showing furniture/accesories they recommend they should keep in line with the whole concept of the magazine - cheap and cheerful. A lot of the furniture/accesories shown are out of my price range and i feel this may reflect a lot of readers opinions. However, do not let this put you off as this is still a top magazine. ...

Housewife Porn!

Advantages: Cheaper than many competitors
Disadvantages: Change of publisher reduced quality

...Barker on the cover! Now, Your Home used to be my fave mag, in fact I had a subscription to it, until they seemed to fall off the edge of the planet, and stop publishing without warning. Most inconvenient - especially as their subscription people decided to swap me to House Beautiful without asking - bad move seeing as I already had a subscription to that as well! However a couple of months later it reappeared in the shops - still the same mag, ...
...mine rather than cutting edge designer pads in the docklands, but oh dear -is it me, or has the paper quality gone tatty and cheap? Bring back the glossy - but apart from that if you only buy one home magazine, buy this! Its realistic, well laid out, and full of good ideas. The only other one I would look out for is House Beautiful, as they have a lot of good cut price subscriptions on at the moment too! ...
