Opium may be nice from the other side of the table, but when i wear it, it give me a massive headache! I find it a touch too unsubtle and garish. This fragrance has all the appeal of a Versace shirt, too overpowering and too flamboyant. It is full of vicississitude and narcissistic vaigaries.
Now give me the timeless cologne of the quintessential english gentleman, Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet. A sharp tang of citrus here, and the gentle conviviality ...

Advantages: Long lasting, sweet, unique Disadvantages: Not everyone likes sweet
So, there ~I was, sitting at another airport once upon a time, wondering what I could do with my time. Usually I'd to get some more books, being a voracious reader, but this time I opted for the duty free. Once again I sauntered through the fragrance aisles until accosted by a lucious lady who asked me if I'd like to smell Opium?
Sure! I'll do some of that with you if you want, I thought. Alas she decided to spray some of ysl's Opium edt for men ... ...arm to give me the false idea of a poppy induced fantasy? well she did).
Now, being a man who had pretty much bought loads of edts on various trips (some of the reviews are scattered around this site), I thought I was rather au fait with what was new and cool. Boy, was I wrong. Here I was, engulfed in what I can only define as a sweet aroma. This Opium thingy had me sold there and then. As usual though I had to see if it was just me or whether other ...

My boyfriend wears Opium and I really can't stand it, and trust me fellas, I'm not the only one! I won't go near my man when he's got it on, which is probably the reason he wears it in the first place! To be fair, its not bad enough to keep me away from him,but within seconds my head starts pounding and I'm ready for a lie down, and, no thats not just the effect he has on me!
I wouldn't mind if it was bargain basement stuff, if he'd got it from ... ...many other fragrances for men which smell gorgeous, why spend your money on something that smells like I you just conconcted it yourself in the bathroom?! It's just far too overpowering, fine if you're trying to mask the fact that you've just been rolling about in a rubbish dump but, surely fragrances are meant to be more subtle than that?! Blokes, wouldn't you rather a lovely young lady leaned in close to you to ask "what is that gorgeous fragrance ...

Advantages: Should be a unisex perfume. Disadvantages: Nothing I can think of.
My friend introduced me to this aftershave, as she wears it on a regular basis. I fell in love with this as soon as I smelt it, it has a really nice fresh smell, which is very different to the Opium for Women which I find too heavy. I dont know why YSL dont make this a unisex perfume as loads of women use it. The fragrance is very subtle but at the same time refreshing, the fragrance lasts for ages. Everyone comments on it when I am wearing it and ... ...mans aftershave. Whats more is when my boyfriend stays over he can use it as well, saves him having to bring his aftershave with him. Sorry lads if you think that women should not wear aftershave, but just think if your girlfriends wore it you wouldn't have to buy it would you. ...

Advantages: Rich , Warm Designer Fragrance at a good price Disadvantages: Mainly an Evening Fragrnace

The fragrance i have is Opium Pour Homme Eau De Toilette , Natural Spray.
It is a powerful smelling scent but is very gentle on the skin which is good if you have sensitive skin liike me. It does not irritate like some scents can do.
It is fresh and warm smelling made with a blend of spices and woods giving it a fresh, rich, and sharp masculine scent.
Describing the smell further it smells ... ...and musk from this warm toned Cologne.
It has a long lasting destinctive smell. I think it smells very rich and warm and i really like the touch of spice you can smell from this fragrance. It definately gets your senses going and thats a good thing when your on a night out ! If you get me !
It is suitable for daywear.However, i tend to use it for evening wear because it is rich and warm smelling. But the choice is yours!

...all Yves Saint Laurent products. The fragrance lingers for a long time but you'll just want to keep applying more! Its also quite expensive (around £40.00 for a large bottle) but definately worth it. Lads, if you wear this you'll have the women queuing up after you ;-) ...
