Advantages: Quiet Disadvantages: Doesn't show how long the programme has left before it finishes
...was enough, and bought a Zanussi ZWF 1421W. I did a bit of research on the internet (not allowed to tell you which sites), and chose this one because various reviews said it was cheap, quiet and reliable. Also, it was in stock in Curry's, and I wanted it ASAP.
My husband collected and fitted it (he's a plumber so knows what he's doing), but if you can't do it yourself, I'm sure your supplier will do it (for a fee). It's cold fill only, as most modern ... ...hot tap. As soon as he'd finished, a quick read of the manual, and the first load went in.
It's a front-loading machine, with a left-hinged door, the pull out detergent dispenser drawer on the left side, and the controls across the front at the top. There are loads of programmes, including cotton, synthetics, delicate, wool, spin only, half load, quick wash, and you can vary the spin speed from 500-1400 rpm by turning a knob. You just load the machine, ...

Advantages: cheap to buy - easy to use - lots of programmed washes - operates quietly Disadvantages: not energy efficient
...and ended up with the Zanussi ZWF1421W for £229 from Sainsbury's online kitchen appliance store.
Price was the major factor in my purchase - as was the fact that it was white and would blend in nicely with the existing kitchen without the need for any changes.
When it arrived it was plumbed in for me thankfully and at 85cm high, 60 wide and 59 cm deep it slotted into the existing hole in the work surfaces. The machine is front loading by which ... ...to no visible sound from outside the kitchen - good news if like me your walls are paper thin!
In short the machines does what it is there for - washes my clothes. Cheap to buy - easy to use - quiet - sums up the Zanussi ZWF1421W nicely. ...

Advantages: quiet, washes clothes Disadvantages: standard 40 degree 6kg wash very long at 2.5hrs
My Indesit died and after researching on the net I decided upon the 1421. I was dithering between that at 1400 spin and 1200 spin. Delivered free from John Lewis direct - an excellent service, they offer a two year guarentee instead of the usual one year.

The 95 degree whites is around 150 mins (2.5 hrs)
The 60 degree whites economy is around 155 mins 2.5hrs), can take the full 6kg load and full 1400 spin.
The 40 degree coloureds economy is around 145 mins, 2.5 hrs) can take the full 6kg load and full 1400 spin.

Advantages: great washing at fairly low cost Disadvantages: none found
lately i found myself in the rather unfortunate p[osition of having to buy a new washing machine and this is what i found whether by luck or judgment i dont know but i did good. this machine for the price of £227 is a pure bargain i got mine from tesco.com and through quidco you get a rebate of just over £5 added to your account. the quality of the wash is superb in my opinion and the extra spinspeed of 1400 is well worth the extra few quid. for ...

Quick review of Zanussi ZWF1421W
Replacement for an old machine that was beyond economical repair. Chose tis model for the high spin speed and eco rating of A and delay timer. A excellent choice 4 years on 15 washes a week and still going strong. Only gripe the the time it takes to wash but this does not bother us as we mostly use the machine on delay timer at night. ...

Advantages: Larger Glass Door, Quiet Disadvantages: Lots of Packaging
...wonderful years from our last Zanussi 1000rpm spin washing machine it was finally time to purchase a new one. We knew that it had to be another Zanussi as nothing can match the price and reliability factor. The main decision was to choose between the 1200 and 1400 spin speeds. As most of the retailers had very good discounts the 1400 was only a few pounds more than the 1200 so the faster speed seemed the best value. There is now an awful lot of packaging ... ...retailers and the drum has to be protected. You will need a couple of bin-bags for the plastic and the tools to remove the safety bolts from the back. If you are just replacing a machine, the plumbing in is fairly easy depending on how accessible your pipes are, most retailers have a removal and fitting scheme in with the delivery. The machine is quiet and has a large glass door, easier for loading bulky items, and a better view of the clothes while ...

Advantages: Easy to use and efficient Disadvantages: Haven't found any
When my fifteen year old Zanussi died after a very busy life I knew I wanted another from the same firm. I am delighted with its performance as I expected. The drum is slightly bigger which makes quite a difference to load distribution. It is very quiet; so quiet I wasn't sure whether it had done any spinning the first time I used it. The programmes are easy to follow in the instructions and simple to work. There is a good range of programmes that ...

Advantages: Large drum, fast spin, manual wash cycle selector Disadvantages: Half load takes nearly the same time as full load
This is my third zanussi washer - the first lasted 13 years the second 10 years, the belt had snapped and it would have cost £50 for new belt with labour, but I decided to buy a new one. I chose the ZWF1421W as it has the biggest capacity with the fastest spin at a good price. I wash everyday and at the weekend I can wash three times a day, if there is bedding and towels to wash. I need a reliable and efficient washer and zanussi have never let me ... ...in one load. I do not use a tumble dryer and prefer to air dry my washing on a line. Jeans and heavy duty clothes are spun easily with no stress on the spin cycle. There is the option to spin on lower speeds, this is useful for lightweight clothes especially acrylic jumpers where sometimes the fast spin cycle can 'spin the good out of them' and they go a bit limp. It can also wash at 30c which is economical. It is not very often I wash on a half ...
