    ASK.com is trying to be one of the great competetive search engines, like google, msn and yahoo. Now taking up Tv Advertising its popularity seems to fluctuate however it is still not in the most visited websites (yahoo being first, google being second).. Ask.com has developed a great new feature which allows you to preview the page before visiting it, this is unique to ask.com - however this is not available for all websites, but is fairly up to date.     Advantages Advantages very flexible, fairly quick. usually finds what you want

    Disadvantages Disadvantages the site you want is somewhere in the 99 you dont want!

    Ask Jeeves any question, and you will get an answer. Usually you will get anything up to perhaps 100 answers. Somewhere in the mass of answers, you will find the web site which gives you the answer you want. If you hit the right one first time, do the lottery quick, as your luck is most certainly in! The odds are you will wade through a number of irrelevant sites until you find the one! Success will to a large degree depend on how you put the initial question. I find it takes some experience in phrasing the question to get only pertinent results! ... more

    Jeeves is a helpfull butler type character who intelligently answers any questions you may ask him. Well so you would think wouldn't you. Well in reality he should be pensioned off a bit rapid or at least his hearing aid batteries should be replaced. On asking a question you are presented with a list of possible options covering the question you asked if ya lucky. You write what you want as a question so this totally confuses the poor old chap and you end up with a load of rubbish with nothing to do with the Key word you typed or worse still he hasnt heard of who or what your asking about ... more

    I like this search engine a lot because you can type in your search in natural language and it will give you accurate results. It makes searching a lot faster and means that you don't need to think about what the keywords are and in which order to use them. The other really cool function is that after the search is done, instead of just giving you a set of links, it tells you what questions you can ask and gives you the option of changing parts of the question. This means that if you are just searching for something in general, it could help you just a little on the detail. ... more

    Ask Jeeves is certainly based around a novel idea, namely natural language searches. Unfortunately it often doesn’t work very well, and just ends up redirecting you to the results of an Altavista or something similar search but with Ask Jeeves advertising at the top of the screen (An annoying trick they do with an external link from their site). When it does come into it’s own though is when you are searching for a term that can have several meanings – here Ask Jeeves can differentiate, with a little help from you.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Very rarely actually finds what you're looking for

    I've been asking Jeeves quite a lot recently, but he seems to be able to my questions with even less intelligence than my dog!! He sometimes manages to finally get you where you want to go, but only after a long process which actually ends with you looking with a different search engine in the first place. It does seem like a total waste of time, and you might as well just start off in one of the others from the beginning. The questions that it asks you so that it can find a more precise answer to your question or subject are just really stupid. I'm yet to actually look for something that has ... more

    Ask.com is quite an easy to use website as a search engine. But, when you want to find out about something general, for example cars it is very difficult to use. However, if you were to search for a specific question ask.com is definately the website to use as it will very quickly bring up all of the websites in which contain your desired question. Sometimes ask.com can be quite annoying if it can not find your question it will usually find completely irrevelant questions which you do not want to know.     I HAVE BEEN USING 'ASK JEEVES' NOW FOR ABOUT SIX MONTHS... IT IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN ANY OF THE OTHER SEARCH ENGINES THAT I HAVE USED... THERE IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT THIS SEARCH FACILITY USES MANNED STATIONS AS WELL AS COMPUTER AIDED SEARCHES. I CANNOT REMEMBER A TIME ,WHEN I HAVE USED ASK...AND NOT FOUND JUST WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR. I CAN HOWEVER, REMEMBER SEVERAL TIMES EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTIES WITH OTHER SEARCH ENGINES.     A very handy sleeve to have up your sleeve if you have a legal or any kind of problem, help or advice is at hand by real persons. It’s so easy you don’t even have to become a member all you do is post your question in the relevant category, so you get more replies and wait for your response. You normally get two or three e-mails the next day to inform you that your question has been answered. You can then check the replies and give them a mark for the answer they gave you.     i always get frustrated when i am tyring to find anything on the internet - especially for school work, so when i discovered ask jeeves.com i was really impressed. the site lets you type in a question and you will get back a list of websites that answer your question or one related to that. it is very helpfull and will always come up with sufficient enough an answer back to help you find exactly what you are looking for on the world wide web. i really would recommend using ask jeeves.com as it provides excellent service getting exactly the right answer you want without loads of dribble that ... more
