Advantages Advantages Easy to Read - Great Sassy Dialogue and Innuendo

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some event require you suspend disbelief - alot!

Hush, Hush OK I will only mention Twilight once in this review and get it out of the way quickly. I bought this book because of Twilight withdrawal and was still looking for something in that vein. Apart from the fact this book opens in a biology class (sex education class no less) - there the comparisons will stop, because this is a very different type of book and good in its own way. Story The main protagonist is Nora - who is you've guessed it - a normal girl who attracts trouble. This comes in the form of Patch - who you just know is going to be her love interest. Now at first the names of ... more

About the book Hush, Hush is the debut novel from Becca Fitzpatrick that was released late in 2009. The genre of the book is fantasy/ romance and it can be found in the young adult section of most book stores. Plot Nora isn't looking forward to Biology, especially when she realises that it is time for sex education. Luckily for Nora, she always sits next to her best friend Vee but today, her teacher has other ideas in mind. Everyone in the class must swap partners and Nora gets stuck with Patch, the transfer kid who never seems to get involved. Their task is to get to know as much as possible ... more

I've never really been one for Angel's in literature however I've recently come across a few. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick is one of the few that I've read cover to cover and enjoyed. I like to think I have a fairly active immagination which really allows me to get lost in a good book and often, if gripping enough, sometimes the things that are coming can actually scare me. Some of the moments in this book really did make me feel a little uneasy and having me check the door was locked at night. Plot Summary Hush, Hush follows the life of Nora Grey, her best frined Vee and a potiential love ... more

Advantages Advantages Interesting plotline with some good characters

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not visually descriptive enough for my liking

As a 28 year old, I'm clearly not the target audience for this sort of Young Adult /Teen Fiction book. In fact, I almost didn't pick the book up at all, with the recommendation comments on the cover coming from 'Sugar' magazine, and from a website called BellaandEdward.com, I almost dismissed this out of hand as being 'too young' for me . But something about the cover really appealed - the silhouette of an attractive young man in dark jeans, bent backwards, his torso exposed as he falls from heaven really was quite appealing. And, I haven't read many books in the whole 'angel' genre, so I ... more

Advantages Advantages Packed with mystery, interesting characters and dialog

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No

The story begins with an ancient oath taken in France in 1564. Then we are transferred back to the present day with Nora Grey as the main narrator, an ordinary high school girl. A change in the sitting plan in biology introduces her to the mysterious and good-looking Patch. Not too long after that, other characters such as Elliott, Jules and Miss Greene enter the scene and a serious of horrific events starts to happen around Nora. She is getting confused as to whom to trust especially Patch as he seems to be around everywhere she goes. As Nora gets closer to the truth, she discovers that she ... more

    Advantages Advantages A Fast Read

Disadvantages Disadvantages Boring and strange characters

I really wanted to like this book. I had heard such great reviews about how it was so much better than any other "young adult" novel out there. The story even sounded interesting when I read about it on the internet. A young girl who meets a fallen angel and they fall in love, sounds romantic right? I thought so too, but the main character is very plain, and not likeable at all. Also, the "fallen angel" is very strange, and he tries to be all dark and romantic but with no success. I was very creeped out by him. The two main characters who were supposedly "meant to be" have no chemistry ... more

Advantages Advantages Lots of twists and well developed characters

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Predictable

Hush, Hush is a story about a girl called Nora who ends up more involved than she could have ever imagined in the life of Patch. Right from the start Nora is annoyed by the boy called Patch who ends up in her class, yet still she ends up going to find him outside of school. She tries to convince herself that it's for any other reason besides liking him. However, for some reason Nora is drawn to Patch. While the story is interesting and the characters are well written I found this book kind of predictable. There were a few more twists at the end, but if you spent a little bit of time thinking ... more

    Advantages Advantages Fallen angel story

Disadvantages Disadvantages I really didn't like his name

Oh my God!This book is one of the best I have read. It is about a fallen angel who has to sacrifice a young girl in order to become the angel he was again and he's all ready to do it except he falls in love with her. Everything is explained throughout the book and it doesn't feel as though you're lost at all. I loved reading it and was actually crying at it's end ( don't worry it's a happy one), even though I'm not a crying person at all. His love for the only person whose death could bring him what he was looking for for so long, is so great that is willing to sacrifice it all in order for ... more
