Advantages Advantages Great concept, fun to collect, something for nothing.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Beginning to wind down - get out whilst you can

Beenz were one of the most successful of the online rewards schemes. But notice I'm talking about them in the past tense. Yes, Beenz were a great idea. Started in the UK, this innovative scheme, which rewarded members for visiting websites, shopping, recommending friends, playing games and doing surveys, soon spread all over the world. With websites in the USA, UK, France, Japan and Australia, Beenz really were the thing to collect. Beenz.com gave 100 beenz for opening an account and a further 50 beenz for each friend you recommended. With alliances with a whole host of different companies ... more

Advantages Advantages Fun, easy to get beenz, welcome gift of 100 beenz

    Disadvantages Disadvantages The 'fun' section

Beenz is one of these sites where you have to do things in order to get stuff. Myth - it is like all of these other rewards sites. Reality - it is not, it is a lot easier and there are loads of products that you can buy with these 'beenz'. My aim with this op is to give you a personal insight into this world. Registration You have to give your e-mail address, which can be used as a login name and also a password. Unlike ciao, you can choose your password from the very beginning. Then you give personal details like your postcode etc. Once you have done that, you are ready to begin. You are ... more

Advantages Advantages Well £150 is a good advantage...

Disadvantages Disadvantages ...although beenz are no longer giving away daily beenz.

I've made a total of £150 in vouchers, one mousemat, a book and two pins from beenz in six months!!! Although beenz are rumoured to be going downhill a newcomer could still collect enough beenz to exchange for something worthwhile, just sadly there are no ongoing daily or weekly beenz to collect. **So what are Beenz?** Beenz is the Internet currency. They're cute little red things that hide all over the place. You get paid them mainly for buying things but I'm personally just collecting the free ones...and doing quite well too! You can pick up a 100 or so for just registering with a site, or ... more

Confession time folks - hands up who signed up with Ciao in order to make a quick buck? I'm not interested in how much you're addicted now, and how much you'd still write even if you had to pay Ciao, etc etc. The fact is, you were initially attracted by the idea of something for...well, very little. Which makes me think that you're either a beenz member already, or there's some reason why you're not. I'm pretty sure you've at least heard of beenz, if not, then you have now. *What are Beenz?* Beenz are most commonly described as "an internet currency". This is because you can use Beenz without ... more

Advantages Advantages Free, gets you stuff!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slow to do, requires copious amounts of effort, and no big companies support paying by Beenz

A while back, talk started about entirely 'electronic money'. Transactions would be made online, the money earned online – indeed, you would never see any physical cash at all. It's clear we haven't quite reached this stage yet, but a step towards this type of society can be found in Beenz. Beenz are an internet currency. You earn them through fulfilling various tasks online, and then you spend them online – essentially, you get something for nothing. Sounds great doesn't it? Well it is. Sort of… Let's look at the earning process first. In it's simplest form, you can earn b10 ... more

Advantages Advantages Totally free, can redeem them for products and vouchers

Disadvantages Disadvantages Addictive, may receive unwanted junk email

Do you ever get the feeling that there is a divide on the internet at the moment? You are either a beenz collector or you aren’t. I don’t think that there has ever been so much fuss made about a reward program but Beenzers seem to take their collecting *very* seriously. As far as I can make out, beenz has become very addictive and this is primarily due to the phenomenon that is "daily beenz". Daily beenz, as the name suggests, are ones that are collected on a daily basis and Beenzers will do anything to ensure that they get online every day to get them. You collect them by visiting ... more

The demise of beenz.com has been widely predicted, so it wasn't really much of a shock to discover today that one of the best-known internet loyalty schemes is finally coming to an end. According to the beenz.com website: "the operation of the beenz economy will be terminated on August 26, 2001. No beenz earning or spending transactions will be honored after that date. Any beenz remaining in a Member's account will be invalidated by beenz.com, and the Member will not be entitled to any compensation of any kind for such invalidated beenz." So if you have any beenz left, spend `em quick! I ... more

With the rise of the Internet came the need for a universally accepted electronic currency for transactions on E-commerce sites. beenz.com, an incentive-based currency for online merchants, succeeded in creating a globally acceptable alternative to money that would influence and reward online consumers. Beenz was the first currency designed specifically for the Internet economy. With it, consumers can earn beenz for performing simple online tasks, such as visiting a Web sites, registering with online businesses, shopping online, or accessing the Internet through a service provider.
