Advantages Advantages Good content, nice people, lots of members.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Evil capitalist marketing scam.

Bolt is an online community for teenagers and college students. With over 210 million page views a month, and 4 million members, it's a busy site. Members sign up with a simple screename, and every member gets the following in their profile: "About me", a place to list your interests and tell other members about yourself. A diary section that allows you to keep a passworded electronic diary on your account. Useful! "Tagbook" that lets the users pose questions that the rest of bolt can answer by viewing your profile. Users can gain badges by participating, and the vast majority of bolt's ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great fun

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Addictive

Ever since I got the Internet in November of last year, Bolt has been like a second home to me. I was just messing around on a search engine one day when it popped up onto my screen like magic, and from that moment I was hooked. If you take a look for yourself then you’ll understand why. But if that isn’t enough to entice you then I guess I’ll just have to explain exactly why Bolt is without doubt one of the best sites on the web. By now you’re probably asking me ‘so what on Earth is it then?’ That’s a good question, and one that isn’t entirely ... more

Advantages Advantages Colour and different things to do

Disadvantages Disadvantages Needs small down load so doesn't woek at college

ukbolt.com and bolt.com I don't really use this site anymore as it can be quite slow and the computers at school wont load the chat, but when I used the chat site at home it is a quite good one. The layout and design is good and there are hundreds of rooms to choice from. You can even create your own room and lock it when you have everyone you want in it for privacy and security. This chat site allows you to use different colours in your speech which is a nice touch. Bolt also has a number of other features including such as bolt notes and searches so you can match friends to your interests ... more

    Advantages Advantages Very various.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Useless stuff included and a bit slow sometimes

When I'm at the Internet, I open at least 2 windows: ciao.com and bolt.com. I like bolt.com. It's a community center with more than 10.000 members from all over the world. Bolt.com has several abilities: the bolt notes, a e-mail server, countless chatrooms, a webhosting service, the famous bolt boards and many other options. The bolt notes are for small notes to send to other members. The e-mail server is of course for e-mail. One of the most important things here is that you don't get any junkmail. There are chatrooms for the members and the boards are messenge boards with topics variating ... more

Advantages Advantages lot of fun, great way to make friends

    Disadvantages Disadvantages can get bitchy

I happened across bolt.com during a long, tedious lunchtime at school. The site is basically a huge international on-line community where you can send people notes, e-mails, instant messenger messages, post on the boards, take part in surveys, create a member profile, play games, and much more. First, of course, you have to register. I'm now on my third ID, with about my millionth icon. It doen't cost to register, though if you wish to upgrade to bolt plus, you do have to pay a subscription. Layout The site is a bit cramped, with a lot being put onto each page. The left hand side is the ... more

Advantages Advantages range of people, free web space and e-mail

Disadvantages Disadvantages can be slow, server has 'off days'.

I like bolt.com. I really do. I've been around there for about 2 years and I'm a regular on the cool/uncool board and various others. I'd have to say that I think the boards are the best feature though - the chat is pitiful and the clubs vary wildly, depending on the people in them, and obviously the subject. I've talked to loads of people through bolt that normally I'd never have been in touch with - there's a real variety of people, from 13 (minimum joining age) right up to 25+ (there are college and university boards and features) and from all over the world. uk.bolt is much more limited ... more

    Advantages Advantages Friends, email

    Disadvantages Disadvantages boring

Bolt.com is for teenagers and I have been using bolt.com for a while now but I only use it because I have a friend on there, if I didn't have this friend then I would've stopped using it a long time ago. You have to register fistly and choose a user name. This is for meeting friends and having email. So the email is quite handy. With your email it lets people leave voice messages for you and you can leave them for other members. Once you have joined, you can start using the different facilities that it provides such as the chat rooms, edit your profile that other members view, listen to the ... more

Advantages Advantages free, lots of uses

Disadvantages Disadvantages full of teenagers cybering

Bolt.com is a site aimed at those aged between 15 (minimum age to join) and those aged about 20, although there is no upper limit you really should have left the place by then. It is a teenage community that offers; 1) E-mail [membername@bolt.com] 2) Bolt notes (messages that can only be sent to other members, and stores speratey from E-mails, much more convenient too). 3) Message boards, boards for everything from Pirates, Chickens, and Cows, to Religion, Sports, and Country's. 4) Chat room. Unless cyber sex with smutty little children is your thing you should avoid it like the plague. 5) ... more

Advantages Advantages can look for friends to chat to

Disadvantages Disadvantages too US centric, most of the people you wouldn't WANT to chat to

i found out aout about this because it was one of the things hotmail told me about when i set up my account. at first i thought it was mediocre, but them my estimation went down. i found it quite difficult to navigate at first, but i did get over that. i couldn't find anything to suit me though. it seemed too US centric, and the boards were full of stupid people with no opinions worth saying (Hello Mr Kettle). i thought the way you could look for friends quite good, and found a few people to chat to, but not good friends or anything like that. overall, this is a rushed, poor quality opinion ... more
