Advantages: none Disadvantages: won't recognise correct address, oor allow user to edit it
Their website is entirely useless for me.
It asks for your postcode and house number. I put those in and then it automatically 'suggests' an address -- the wrong one. It says the street name is actually the road that leads to the road I need to send my purchases to.
This is not uncommon. Amazon and others do the same. The difference, with Amazon and everyone else is that the 'suggestions' are just that: they all allow you to edit them; or add extra ... ...a note to the postman/woman; to make sure the goods get to the right person. Not Boots. Oh, no. They assume their system is infalliable.
It isn't, and so, I can neither use it, nor will I trust such an arrogant trust-the-systems-not-the-customer company with my purchses even if they fix this glaring fault with their 'systems' in future. A fault that they know exists and have still not fixed, by the way, because I called them to explain and they ...

Advantages: Easy to place orders Disadvantages: Not responsive to customer complaints
I'm a great fan of internet shopping - it's great for those of us who hate braving the crowded shops at lunchtimes, queuing for ages, going to buy something specific and not finding it and feeling annoyed that you've wasted a big part of your lunch break. Boots is one of those shops where I tend to do most of my cosmetics and beauty product shopping. When I found out several years back that Boots had an online site, I was pretty much over the moon ... ...fact that I could browse the online store from the comfort of my own home and order at my leisure and that all I would then have to do is wait for my items to be delivered. '''THE SITE'''
On entering the site, there's a familiar feel about it. At the top left side of the screen is the Boots logo and the text and background is mostly blue and white with some headings in dark green and photos of items in full colour. I won't give you a blow by blow ...

Advantages: Not having to leave home to shop, paying with paypal Disadvantages: Everything else
I use boots.com because I can pay with Paypal from monies earned on eBay and collect Advantage points at the same time. But those are the only reasons for putting up with such a cumbersome, lumbering, slow, poorly designed website. I know they have a lot of product lines to manage, but if supermarkets can manage user-friendly online shopping then Boots should be able to too. It is hard not to rant about this site, but I shall try to contain myself; ... ...navigation is flakey, the search function very unreliable and pages frequently fail to display properly. If it's because I'm an Apple user browsing via Firefox then that's cause for further ranting. Once the goods arrive the disappointment continues; poor packaging and everything covered in sticky labels and stock control tags. Not such a nuisance on boxes of plasters, but a bit off-putting slapped all over your favourite beauty products. Will I ...

This christmas i saw boots.co.uk had free delivery and thought i would take advantage of this as I shop in boots quite often. Boy i wish i hadnt. For a large chain of stores I have never seen such a poorly layed out website. It constantly crashed, the shopping basket does not seem to like you actually buying stuff, and if they do actually let you buy from them they wont add on vouchers or give you any boots advantage points. Once i had finally orderd ... ...getting nearer and nearer and there was no sign of my gifts, i decided to give them a call, they seemed to be unconcerned and assured me that the gifts would arrive before christmas. Two days before Christmas i ring again, they tell me they have not even posted it. Next time I am just going to go into the store! ...

Quick review of boots.co.uk
Yes - I don't think Christmas is Boots' strong point either. I ordered a large photograph I needed to get framed as a gift in November. Instead I received somebody else's picture. I let them know, they said send it back to them - I did and that was the last I heard. Just a week until Christmas and I've still not received the photograph or had any response to an email asking what was happening their end. Try and get through to their customer services and you'll be lucky to peak with somebody. ...

I ordered three items for my new kitchen. After 2 months I received only one. I was asked to wait for cooker not made any more, failure to deliver two other items on arranged date as driver go stuck in traffic , on re arranged date second item was missing, apparently Boots never ordered it. I was then asked to wait three more weeks for second item always costing me money due to delay in installation. I paid a fortune in phone calls.Bad customer service, ...

Boots.com
Background to the company.
Boots.com is the official website of the famous high street chemist store Boots. They are actually the largest chemist retailer in Europe now, and certainly are the most recognised high street chain within the UK. Everyone knows who Boots are! They have over 1,500 stores across the UK, but more and more are finding customers switching to their website to make orders. This review covers the website only (I'll ... ...You might be surprised to know that Boots has been running as a company since 1898, and it's first flagship store was opened in Nottingham in 1892. So it's a company that is over 100 years old! Pretty impressive, really! It started small, as a shop on Goose Gate in Nottingham, run by a gentleman called John Boot and his wife Mary, selling herbal remedies they made up themselves. That was in 1849. John died quite young, at the age of 45, but the family ...

Advantages: All your toiletries delivered to your door Disadvantages: Delivery Charge
I have shopped in Boots for many years, this is where I used to purchase all my toiletry needs etc. When the internet came along and then came the Boots website I just had to have a look. You can find it at www.boots.com

Having made the quite momentous decision to change from disposable nappies to cotton [due to the guilty feeling produced by watching 'No Waste Like Home' a couple of weeks ago] we set off virtuously to the large Boots in our nearest city to pick up everything we'd need. We have a three month old and a twenty-one month old ... ...We returned home despondent but decided to try ordering from the Boots website. Advantages: Buy online, reasonably quick standard delivery, advantage points Disadvantages: Normal prices don't compare well with other retailers
Having spent well over a month looking for a new kettle and toaster to go with our new modern kitchen, I was beginging to lose hope of ever finding something suitable.
I'd had a look at the Boots site before and never been that impressed. The website itself has always struck me as a bit basic and, although easy to navigate and understand, it's never made me feel like staying to browse like some do. The choice is limited for most things and the prices ... ...offers). I can't really understand why anyone would use it to be honest and the only reason I made a purchase was because I was searching the net for kettle prices and found a link to a special offer.
So, out of the blue last Saturday, I noticed that Boots.com were doing the Kenwood EON kettle and toaster, normal RRP £80 each for £40 each including free delivery. Normally the web prices are no where near what I could get just by walking up and down ...

Advantages: Quick delivery, discount vouchers, Advantage points Disadvantages: High prices for non-sale items
I was buying a digital camera and did not naturally think of Boots.com as they are known mostly for pharmacy and cosmetic products. However a search on Pricerunner bought up Boots.com as offering a special promotion on the camera I was looking at. Boots.com offered free delivery on orders over £40, which is quoted to take up to 5 working days. Boots.com also deliver to an alternate address, as most retailers will only send to the credit card billing address. This means ...

Advantages: Well stocked site Disadvantages: Terrible service
...I was thrilled to discover boots.co.uk ! This ment I could get the things I needed without the pain and hassle of trying to go into town. Their selection of products is good, ranging from toiletries to gifts. They also have some great offers. Their website has a clean look, with things well sectioned in drop down menus. Advantages: Online discounts, quick delivery, great returns policy Disadvantages: Out of stock stuff on a regular basis, delivery charge under £40
I've shopped at Boots.com so many times now, I've lost count. To be honest, I prefer to shop there than I do instore.
Despite the fact that stock seems to sell out quickly and take a week or so to be replenished (I suppose that's an indication of how many people buy from the site), the site's quality is unquestionable.
Boots.com have all the same offers that are available in store, plus many more specific online offers and the well-known Boots ... ...think I've discovered yet is the amount of online discounts that can be used on the site, £5 off £10 minimum spend, 500 advantage card points when you spend £50 online, that kind of thing and despite the delivery charges on orders under £40 (all orders over £40 are free), the delivery times are quick and the returns policy is excellent. We have been shopping online with Boots Online for over 2 years having made about 20+ orders.
For once I am pleased to say it's nice to deal with a company who appears to be totally reliable in the service they deliver.
