Advantages Advantages Nice staff and unbeatable value!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Make sure you check your booking details! (Update on this at the end...)

Canadian Affair came highly recommended to me, and they didn’t disappoint. They are the winner of the Canada Travel Awards Best Canada Website 2002 and 2003 and deservedly so. They offer exceptionally cheap travel between a good range of airports in both Canada and UK, currently starting at prices as low as £148 return, including taxes! I’m actually now onto my second booking with them (second journey not yet taken… *g*). Both times have been flights to Vancouver, flying with Thomas Cook airlines. I’ve done a separate review for them. I find the website is sometimes temperamental and won’t ... more

Advantages Advantages Quick, easy service with polite staff and helpful post-sale enquiries

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Bad booking system

First and foremost - Money. Make no mistake; Canadian-Affair offers literally the best value for money fares to Canada, full-stop. To order a ticket (with full trimmings such as premium seats and insurance) for one person going to busy Pearson airport in Toronto in the height of holiday season for a measly £350-£400 -DIRECT FLIGHT I might add -is simply astounding. The website was easy to navigate - the step by step process helped me hand in hand with ordering my ticket and with payment. In each step I was given the opportunity to go back and to change any details or to double check them in ... more

Advantages Advantages Sometimes you get lucky

Disadvantages Disadvantages They don't respect their customers

My wife and I travelled from Toronto to Manchester with Canadianaffair ten days ago with reserved seat positions for the return flight back to Toronto on Wednesday July 23rd. Upon arrival at Manchester Airport for the return trip we were refused boarding and told to see the representative at the Canadianaffair office. We did this and were then informed that despite having reserved seat positions we may not be given a seat on the flight due to overbooking. We were flabbergasted and angry. We also had to wait around for a few hours to find out if we would be allowed on the flight. To cut a long ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheaper than competitors, simple online booking, cheap insurance, good info on Canada

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only Canada 3000 flights, unable to pay rest of balance online if you choose to only pay deposit..

When the time came to booking my flights to Canada this coming summer I didnt quite know where to start.. I quickly realised I would save a few pennies by booking online but argh there were so many flight specialists, so many prices to check.. I quickly came up with a shortlist of 20 or so such companies and begun to look.. However a lot of the sites I visited were a struggle to use, and I felt that I was getting nowhere.. then I came to Canadian Affair. The name of the company itself was encouraging, a company that specialises in Canadian - UK flights would surely be cheaper than the ... more

The other ops on Canadian Affair are a little out of date, so I thought I would update things. As a Canadian expat living in the UK, I have been using them for about 5 years on my frequent trips back and for family and friends to visit us here. I will start with a trip that we made in November 2001, when Canadian-Affair was still using Canada 3000. We landed in Toronto to be told by my brother that it looked like Canada 3000 was going bankrupt. Indeed, the next day, they ceased operations. An email to Canadian Affair elicited an instant response, with the promise that we would be taken care of ... more

Advantages Advantages Very cheap flights to Canada

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Believe me - i know how to save a buck or two - so when i was going to Canada in peak season i knew i'd have a better chance of getting a good price over the internet - I must of compared prices of over 50 online airline booking places and nothing compared to www.canadianaffair.com - don't believe me - try them yourselves. Instead of paying £600 and over for my seat i ended up paying just £379 inclusive of tax. If you are ready to leave on short notice then there are some serious bargains to be had from this company - just keep checking their late availabilities - you cannot beat their prices ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Policy, staff, insurance costs, we were treated like animals while dealing with a family death

I purchased two round trip tickets online for my parents to fly to London, UK, from Toronto, Canada to visit me. Four days prior to their departure my father developed pneumonia and was unable to fly. I contacted Canadian Affair to let them know what happened. They refused to do anything as I had not purchased their insurance. When I had asked their customer services dept how much their insurance would cost over the phone (it was not offered online), it was several hundred dollars, almost half the price of the tickets! Hence, why I didn't purchase it. I informed them that we would try to get ... more

Over 20 people have booked flights and accommodation with Canadian Affair as I am getting married in February. Originally booked from Manchester to Calgary. [1] Return flight changed from Monarch to Thomas Cook - no problem [2] Outbound flight changed from Manchester to Calgary to Gatwick to Calgary. I had a feeling this might happen as I read something on a website about this. I rang CA and asked if the flight was still going from Manchester. They said yes. We only found it that it actually was going from Gatwick when I tried to book extra leg room on Monarch's website and the flight number ... more

    Advantages Advantages None!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Uncaring, take your money and run!

We too were treated appallingly by Canadian Affair's so called customer service! We were due to emigrate to Canada in Dec 2005, and were at Gatwick airport, saying our goodbyes. My husband received a phone call from his sister to say that their mother had taken a turn for the worse (she was in hospital with leukaemia, but things had been looking good, hence why we were still flying out) We took ourselves off the flight and didnt expect that money back, but we had paid 500 pounds for car hire, thru Crappy Affair, and were told that we couldnt have that transferred to the new dates when we would ... more

Advantages Advantages Good prices, easy search, good customer service, no surcharges

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only deals with Canada 3000.

It would make sense that a travel agent that only deals with Canadian Flights would be the first place to check when looking into a Canadian holiday. The agency deals with Canada 3000 as their carrier - a good charter airline that has a solid reputation both here and in Canada. The agency deals with flights instead of packages, and there is agreat search facility to quickly look up availablity and prices. Online booking was recently introduced, which makes things much easier! There are NO credit card surcharges (which are extortion!) and the tickets have always arrived quickly. The company ... more
