Advantages Advantages Cheap prices, free p&p and excellent customer service

Disadvantages Disadvantages items could be packaged better

Having traded on cdwow for over 2 years now, I feel it is customary to tell you all about this fantastic company and what they have to offer. cdwow is a small company that started off in February 2000 and fast became a popular site, having been voted no2 in .net magazine's 'The World's 20 Best Online Stores'. The company has worked hard on not only offering competitive prices for cds, dvds and games, but priding it'self on excellent customer service. How do the prices compare to other online stores? ******************************************* ***************** The cds that they sell are ... more

******Please update at bottom of this review******* Over the years I have used several internet sites when it comes to purchasing DVD's and other gifts for family and friends. I have always found the site that offers good customer service, value for money as well as a prompt delivery. Out of all those companies the worst has to be, without a doubt, CD WOW...... I have an MBNA Reward card and I exchanged some points for a CD WOW e-voucher. Up to this point I had never used the company and so I started looking for the DVD of my choice to use the voucher. The Company CD WOW is based in Hong Kong ... more

Advantages Advantages Very cheap, reliable service.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Delivery time of 5-7 days, Limited to popular music.

I was introduced to this site by a friend who merely laughed at me as I returned from Virgin one day, proudly clutching my "two cd's for £22". I thought I had a bargain until I was shown this website. I have vowed never to buy CD's from the high street again. Background ---------- CD-wow is now regarded as one of the best on-line stores and a short look at their very nicely designed site shows why. From their customer service centre in Bucks, they run a business that provides CD's and DVD's at unbelievably low prices. Launched in February 2000, they offer CD albums for £8.99, slightly more for ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none!

How would you react to all the top 75 CDs all for the price of £8.99, free delivery and for a bonus it really works (always a good point) Look over to CD-WOW for the solution to all your problems relating to music then. It really is as simple as that, they have a selection of CD’s always the current UK top 75 albums, as well as a few classics all priced at £8.99. There is also free delivery to any UK address so is it really as good as it makes out to be? One entering the page (www.cd-wow.com) it really hits you. They are proud of their prices, and show it off quite a fair amount. The ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheapest supplier of CDs on the Web - and run by real people

Disadvantages Disadvantages Limited selection, three-day (best) delivery time, international versions only

If you have used CD Wow! in the past then you will already know about the Web’s cheapest supplier of digital music, but you might not know about its recent facelift. Likewise, if you haven't been in the last couple of weeks, you might not know that they have started to sell DVDs (albeit a very limited range). If you haven’t heard of the site at all, then boy are you in for a treat! CD Wow! are, in their words, “an international supplier of CDs”. Because they operate out of Hong Kong and send out all discs under separate cover, they neatly exploit a tax loophole and can ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap @ 8.99 each, great customer service, good communications, very quick site, quick to add to cart from main page

Disadvantages Disadvantages delivery time a little long (acceptable), not a huge back catalogue yet (ever increasing)

Let me start by saying this is ONE OF the cheapest places to get your CDs, online of offline. Anyone who still buys CDs in the shops I can only say WHAT THE HELL??? Currently CDs in HMV or MVC cost at least £14.99 each. I believe that to be highway robbery and you’ll NEVER catch me buying a CD in the high street. Now onto the site, where you can get CDs for 8.99!!! I have now been using the site for about 18 months, and have watched it grow from a very basic text like site in the beginning to what it is now. Okay, I kid you not, all single CDs on the site are 8.99 and all doubles are 10 ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great prices

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Limited choice

Aah, the good old days! When you could stroll through most towns and cities the length and breadth of this fair isle and find in any one a multitude of record shops, independent and with a huge range to tickle any palate. These days, alas, you’re lucky to get any more than an HMV or an Our Price or, at a push in the bigger places, a Virgin Music store. True you do get Smiths, but you can’t call that a record store, now can you? All they seem to stock is classical and the Top 10 singles. No variety in music shops is firmly a thing of the dim and distant past and all you can get on the High ... more

Well, here’s a departure for me – an opinion about online shopping (unpaid at that!). I don’t do a great deal of shopping online due to having one of those Solo debit cards which aren’t accepted by many places! Most of my experience of such shopping is with Tesco which can prove problematical. However, I have a more positive experience(s) to report on! Namely during my Christmas shopping at the end of last year. I needed to buy a couple of CDs for friends and family and being on a very tight budget needed to find somewhere as cheap as possible. Shopping around offline in high street shops only ... more

    Advantages Advantages Quick and cheap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Erm, none.

You've all had a similar experience - a friend sends you an e-mail saying "I've found this website! It's magic! It's fantastic! You MUST try it!". So you go and have a look at your friend's latest foible, and find it to be a steaming pile of cack. Well, imagine my surprise when, about 6 months ago, a friend of mine pointed me in the direction of a website saying "I've found this website! It's magic! It's fantastic! You MUST try it!", and it actually turned out to be one of the best money-savers I've ever discovered. That website was cd-wow. PRICE: ----- Cd-wow is probably best described as a ... more

After paying the RRP for music cd's on numerous occasions, I didn't think a website like CD-Wow existed and thought that there must be a catch. However there isn't. This is the website to go to for cheaper CD's, DVD's and Computer Games. It is very easy to use, you register by clicking on 'Sign Up'at the bottom of the home page and by filling in your details such as name, address, telephone number, and the bit I like is whether you are a Gentleman or a Lady (a nice change from Male/Female) You then give your email address and a password which has got to be at least 5 characters long. You will ... more
