    Disadvantages Disadvantages Kind of slow when using Secure Server, but for good reason.

    I don't shop online very often - usually because the Internet makes shoplifting so terribly difficult. (Just kidding.)     Having been recommended this site by a friend I thought I should have a look, basically it offers music lovers ‘an unprecedented selection of music products’ and yes their database is quite large and you’ll find most tracks but I have seen better databases. Besides CD you can join their Cosmic Credit program: -by linking your web sites to promotions and artist pages, you can make money. -you can also increase your web traffic by having your site listed on Cdnow.com and you can give your visitors access to hard-to-find albums, sound samples, music reviews, contests and more ... more

    Ever since I started using the internet about five years ago CDNOW was one of the first big places to shop at online. Naturally there is now so many more stores to visit but through the times of dotcom businesses going down the drain this is an outfit that have rode the storm and are still surviving. Here in the UK we are subject to some rule that means we have to be overpriced for our entertainment goods such as videos,cd's etc. A visit to this site will show you that you can save money.     CDNow have the potential to become big players in the home entertainment market as they now ship DVDs in addition to CDs to customers in the UK. SELECTION: Based in the USA they stock many items with an emphasis on music including a good selection of CDs, videos, DVDs, music collectables, MP3 players, keyboards, DVD players and so on. They cater for gift certificates and have the unusual option of producing custom CDs made to the customers track specification.     CD now offers a huge range of CDs to its customers. It also offers short extracts from tracks on all its stocked albumbs, although some songs are not available as thirty second clips. Probably because they have to get the copyright owner's permission to put it up on the site, but if you like Amazon.com you should be pleased with CD Now. Delivery is not usually longer than a week, most orders arrive in a matter of days. Plus, want a song but don't know the tiltle, just search for the artist. CD now makes reccomendations that can be quite helpful if you aren't sure what to buy. But beware of ... more

    Although I have not bought anything yet from them, they seem to have a very large selection. My attention was captured by the section on Latin America, where they currently have a 30% discount, including the everywhere present in the States Gisselle. My biggest surprise was to find a Brazilian singer, OTTO, and his Samba pra burro. I have it already, but i had to ask friends from Brazil to bring it here. i could nto find it in UK. This website mails all over the world, but, if I could find the same CD here, i would buy it form a local website, although the prices are cheaper in the States ... more

    CD now is probably the best US based CD site, useful if only for checking out US prices and seeing how much us Brits are being ripped off by. I've used them a number of times, they have efficient service, wide product range and well geared to european delivery. Big advantages are that almost all the US based rewards type schemes offer CDnow certificates, so you can end up getting those CDs for free. Main disadvantage is shipping costs, around £5.50 for two CDs. Their rewards scheme is OK but only if you use them regularly, you have to spend $280 dollars (before shipping costs) to get a free CD ... more

    CDNow is the number one online retailer in MY opinion. CDNow was my first ever online purchase. The CDs were very cheap at less than £7 each (including p&p). Although there was a problem with my first order, it took two months to came! This was my fault however because I ordered direct from the USA only part of the site and not the Europe shipping area. All other orders after that have come in only two weeks because I used the europe service. At first, their service seemed very attractive - offering significant discounts to high street prices (as well as frequent promotions and special offers), I could afford to buy more CDs, and more often. Also, because they were not limited by floor space as with a "real" shop, they offer a much wider range of products.
