OK, so I'll start with saying I have had good experiences with Click and Collect. You sometimes get a better price than just going to the store, and the stock should be in stock. Comet in general - I reserved online the day before collection - and still got the WRONG product - which of course they wouldn't come out to replace. I had to take the product back yourself - the option was given to replace the product, but as after sales service was so bad, I simply returned it. The online discount promised also was not given, so make sure you check everything very carefully before you leave the shop, if you do shop with Comet.

My experience of Comet follow up/aftercare is bad bad bad =( They sold me a washimg machine knowing that it had a manufacturing defect, made me sit at home waiting for them to arrive to fix the faulty parts...no one turned up and the 'engineer' (hahahaha) told blatant lies by reporting I had not been at home when he called, when I had. They then didnt turn up to the next time we made...in all it took over a month to sort out and then when I complained they did nothing about it. Comet aftersales are sh*te and wouldnt send my dog there for anything, even if he was desperate. Spend your mony somewhere else...one star is being very very generous

Bought a 'Tom Tom One' from Comet as a gift for a friend. She already had one so took it back the next week completely unused and in mint condition. Their website has a guarantee that they will give full refund. Despite emails and telephone calls to customer services they flatly refuse to take it back. They've told me the matter is closed and it is up to me to take legal action if still dissatisfied. I think they are about to go under and can't afford the refund. I'd recommend not spending any money you can't afford to lose outright. Their stores are persistently empty and I suspect they will be the next casualties of the credit crunch.

Advantages: Occaisional discount prices are good.
Disadvantages: Instore sales staff can't seem to leave me alone.

I was looking for an upscaling dvd player, but the one I wanted, a Toshiba XDE-500 was over £100, so couldn't believe my luck when it dropped to £59.99 on comets site, so I reserved one at their Gravesend (Kent) store, and went to collect it straight away. I recently used Comet.co.uk to buy 3 large kitchen appliances (fridge, freezer and tumble dryer) and also took advantage of their multisave offer online. I only saved about £30 (plus free delivery) by using that, and to be truthful I would have liked to have saved a little more by taking the time to multisae, waqit for an email reply, call them up and be offered a price. This review is just about the delivery service, which was excellent. We ordered a freezer on Saturday and chose the 2pm-6pm slot for the next day (Sunday). They phoned us just before 2pm to say they were on the way, and should be arriving within the hour. They arrived at 2:30pm. They unpacked it and took all the cardboard and polystyrene away, so I didn't have to fill up my wheely bin. I was most pleasantly surprised!

Advantages: The store is close to my house, THATS IT
Disadvantages: Repair server VERY VERY BAD

Getting really angry right now, I used to work for Comet a few years back and while i was there I bought a 32inch panasonic TV with a 5 year cover, on the 8th of aug it went broke down making it unusable, called the comet repair line and they said someone will be out to in within 5days. so i thought fair enough atleast someone will come fix it. the guy came out and messed about with it and said oh i need to order a part we'll be back out a week ... Purchased a hob and oven from Comet.Delivery only arranged for following Tuesday. Called Comet back to say I would like installation as well as delivery. Told by staff that delivery only is possible on Tuesday,will have to wait until Thursday to include connection. i saw this site advertised in the media and thought i give it a look, it has would have good possibilities for bargains if it wasn't for the stupid pratts bidding on it and i mean STUPID. Why bid against your self and over the bid increment price, one bidder did it 4 times going from £26.00 to £176.00 and the bid inc was only £26.00, come on if your that thick and don't understand the way it works don't bid at all. Unhelpful, rude, condescending and emotional staff. Rang Comet to ask if I could collect a fridge freezer from the local shop. Didn't have to wait too long. Was confronted by a member of Comet staff that was unwilling to check a short list of in order to tell me which Bosch fridges they had in stock! Surely that was not an unreasonable request.
