    My Acer laptop that I have owned since 2006 has been dodgy for the past few months, running slowly and refusing to perform as a laptop should, so I figured seeing as the poor thing was over 4 years old that I would treat myself in the new year with a brand new one, kind of a belated present to myself.     What a palava. You cannot believe how difficult it has been for me to buy a new Vacuum Cleaner. My old one, which has been faithful until now has decided it no longer wants to pick up the muck and I dutifully did the electrical store rounds two weekends ago and decided on a Dyson DC07 Animal…Grrrrr! We were almost ready to buy it from Currys when we enquired about web prices and the store manager advised it was nearly £50 cheaper via the web, a fact that he was not too happy about, as he just lost a sale to the same organisation.     Advantages Advantages You can take the item away with you when you buy, they price match local retailers

    I bought a tv from Comet a couple of weeks ago, and left it in its packaging for a couple of days, whilst I was selling my previous tv. After I'd set up the new tv, all seemed fine, until I started to get an intermitant flickering picture with HDMI sources. I first went into Comet to ask what the prodedure for returning it was, and was told that either an engineer could come to my house and test it, or that I could return the tv to the store, where someone would test it.     I bought my Acer laptop from Comet online in November 2006. On delivery, I unpacked it and plugged it in and quickly discovered that the card drive didn\'t work. I took it to a local Comet store who told me I\'d have to deal with Acer directly. I argued my consumer rights and after a lot of hassle they suddenly agreed to replace it and I took home a new laptop. At the beginning of October this year, still within the 12 month warranty, I left the room for 10 minutes and returned to find that the laptop had failed.     By half past two this afternoon, I knew that my stressful morning was all due to a member of staff at comet.co.uk. But I'll go in to that later! comet.co.uk is a nice bright colourful site. (mainly orange!) It is very easy to look for the products you want, by using the Products Menu on the left of the home page. I was using them (01.01.01) to purchase a Digital Camera as they were selling it for the best price. Which I found in ~ Cameras & Camcorders>Digital Cameras.     About two weeks ago we had a problem with our gas cooker and decided it was safer to buy a new one rather than getting ours repaired. As it decided to break about 8pm in the evening I decided I would hunt around the Internet looking for the best deal instead on hunting around in the shops in my dinner hour or after a hard day at work.     I've had a terrible fortnight. I have had two broken down cookers, two broken down dishwashers, one broken down freezer and one broken down washing machine. I have had to replace one cooker and two dishwashers. Now, before you begin to think that I am some kind of domestic appliance fetishist (is there such a thing?) or that I have shares in Hoover, let me explain. I run four day nurseries. So that means that I need four dishwashers, four fridge freezers, four washing machines, four tumble driers, four cookers, four microwaves and.....need I go on?     Comet - We Live Electricals, at least thats what their website tells me! The website is in the following categories: Kitchen & Home, Home Entertainment, Computers, Portable Technology, Shop by Brand, Services, Advice, Business Services, The Sale I think the categories are pretty self explanatory and the website is very easy to navigate. There is a section on the homepage called as seen on tv where you can see all the products which have featured on Comet's adverts. There is also a section for more great deals where you can see miscellaneous products which are on offer at present. You can ... more

    Fed up of scouring around the January sales for your electrical bargains? Tired of looking for so called bargains in electrical stores? I don't know about you guys but I always am too late and don't really find the "Manger's Specials" to be that special, by the time I get there all that is left are out of date, destroyed and overpriced products. This year I found myself searching the January sales for a washing machine.....the absolute cheapest possible to go into a house I have just let out to a new tenant.     {The actual site is an off-shoot from Comet's main one. I've e.mailed Ciao! and asked for the category to be created but as yet am still waiting. I'll move it when they do create it.} I've been after a wide-screen TV for ages. I've ordered a couple but they took so long in pratting about with the order that I cancelled them. But I still want one. A shiny silver-effect 32" for the living room. Smart. They are a bit pricey so stumbling across Comet's clearance site (not the main site), of course I had to have a gander.
