    I have always been a fan of comet as i have found the prices on offer are normally one of the cheapest available and this is often backed up by the price comparison site www.pricerunner.com as i always use that site first before going to the website of the retailer with the best prices. This is my experience of the website www.comet.co.uk and the service I have received from them over the last couple of years.     Disadvantages Disadvantages They Lie about price matching and terrible customer service.

    I used to like Comet. I used to find their customer service excellent. I used to find they had good deals both in store and online, But that has completely changed after I went online found a vacuum I liked and was in budget as my Dyson has died after many years of use! I thought I would go in to the store and buy it with Love 2 Shop vouchers, as they are burning a hole, but I thought that I would just check the vacuum was in stock or if it would need to be delivered.     Advantages Advantages Easy to use online shop, good illustrations and descriptions of products, excellent auction service for clearence items

    Disadvantages Disadvantages This site can be somewhat slow at times, especially during the early evenings

    I have been using Comet's clearence site for over a year now and I can tell you, I have had some very good bargains. I found the site whilst looking for a new tumble dryer early last year. To be honest, I thought the actual prices on the Comet website were quite reasonable but still a little expensive for what I was looking for.     Just a quick review tonight! Few towns in the UK are far from a ‘terrestrial’ COMET site, they’ve been around for around 25 years or so, and they have a fairly good reputation for providing branded consumer electrical goods at good prices. Like many large enterprises, they operate a ‘web store’ – which offers modest discounts from the ‘shop’ prices. I was on the lookout for a new Personal Computer, a SONY VGC-V2S, (which I’ve just reviewed) and found through KELKOO.CO .UK that COMET were offering this particular model on promotion at around £300 less than the list price.     As with most people I try to avoid the Christmas shopping rush like the plague. All those people with pent up festive shop rage, no thanks. So like the number of sensible people I try to get many of my Christmas gifts via the net.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Pushy, unhelpful, misleading, expensive

    Having waited in all day, they didn't deliver and when I called them they simply said the item had not been put out for delivery and that it would now be delivered tomorrow instead. No apology, no compensation. I wrote in to complain that they had wasted a day of my life. Any worthwhile company would have taken this as an opportunity to put right their wrongs - but not Comet - again, no apology, no compensation. My purchase was slightly cheaper at Comet than elsewhere, but taking into account the time wasted in staying in for them, it turned out to be a false saving. I cannot see me shopping ... more

    After bad shopping experiences with Comet many years ago (approx 20years ago), receiving nothing but bad customer service and faulty goods, I swore never to use Comet again. Recently I had an incident which resulted in me receiving Comet vouchers for replacement goods, so reluctantly I returned to Comet.co.uk to select a replacement item and settled upon a Macbook Air 128GB at £1099.00. I kept monitoring the site noticing that these items were never in stock in stores and you could only buy online to be collected in store.     I was looking to buy an Epson 1290S printer on the web, as there were some good savings to be made. Online prices can be about £40.00 under the normal price for this product. Many of the online retailers selling this model have had a lot of negative reviews about customer service, delays etc., so I thought that Comet deserved a good review from a happy customer.     Looked at a review on this site, and it was everything they said it was, and in my opinion more. Alright, we can all find faults with anything, but if you are going to save some money, I think you can just about put any disadvantages out of your head. I came across COMET AUCTIONS, completely by accident while looking for a new telly. I saw the little tab at the top with `auctions` on, clicked and away I was.
