Advantages Advantages Jammed full of Cricket related info/ Fast/ Reliable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Audio is hit and miss

Cricinfo is the largest Cricket related website out there and not only is it the largest but it is by far the best too. With over 20 million users the site is one of largest websites in the world. It was launched in 1993 and was based in London. Today the base has moved to Bangalore, India, no doubt to cut down costs. There are offices in London, Chennai, Mumbai and Colombo. First impressions are good. The homepage is clear and precise. Sports websites are often packed full of banners, adverts and pop-ups but not this one. It has advertising but only a small amount of it and it no way impedes ... more

Some writers and historians even trace back the origin of Cricket to 13th century. Now whether the games like stool-ball, rounders and cat and dog were actually the origin of cricket or the phases it passed through to reach the modern and glamoures sport that we know today by the name of cricket, whether the game played by the name of ‘creckett’ in the Tudor period was actually cricket or did Oliver Cromwell really used to play cricket in his youth, we can’t really say for sure but we can easily trace it back to the 17th century when you could run as many runs as you wanted ... more

    Advantages Advantages Excellent, Reliable Informative

Disadvantages Disadvantages Home page can be clustered with too much info

As a follower of Cricket around the world, www.cricinfo.com has been a godsend for me to keep in touch with what is happening right around the cricketing world. I stumbled across this site one day under the name www.cricket.com, as other websites just didn't cut the mustard when it came to what I was looking for. Right from when you come onto the site, you can choose which server you view the site in depending on where you are around the world, so you have that personalised feel and then this opens up the website and brings you to their homepage and you can begin browsing this marvellous and ... more

Advantages Advantages Enormous amount of information, fast loading, StatsGuru

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor coverage of women's cricket, registering for audio - why?

...oh no...I love it! Cricket means a lot to me, and CricInfo is by a considerable margin the sport website I use most. It's also the one I find most pleasant to use. It manages to combine user-friendliness, accuracy, speed and comprehensiveness in one package, which is a rare thing on the net (or, indeed, anywhere). One factor in its speed is the sensible decision to have separate servers for the main cricketing countries. (Well, the West Indies have to make do with one in the US, but whether you'd call them a major cricketing country these days is open to question.) So you have www-uk ... more

Advantages Advantages This is THE cricket site on the web.

Disadvantages Disadvantages registration necessary for audio commentary

I have seen Cricinfo flourish over the last four years, having jumped on board at its launch. Since then I have watched the site develop into the outstanding cricket site on the web. I have also helped to contribute to its development, by submitting new headers and footers for Austria's page - they will be going up on the site soon and I have helped by submitting scorecards to the site too. The site is so reliable that you can guarantee practically next day reporting of any game. The site hosts a great variety of information, from National sites (ecb.co.uk for example) through to Cricket ... more

    Advantages Advantages Comprehensive Coverage

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

CricInfo has to be the most comprehensive website around covering the world of cricket. The selections and options are very vast and cover almost all aspects of this game. When first accessing this site you are met with the Welcome Page and are prompted to select the server closest to your current location. The choices available are: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, U.K. and U.S.A. Naturally my selection has always been the U.K. one but I assume that any country you select will have their own individual server and will present the matter in their own perspectives. On ... more

Advantages Advantages As a India supporter i enjoyed the day 1 game

Disadvantages Disadvantages There is still 3 days to go!!!

India enjoyed a very successful opening day in the first Test match against Zimbabwe at the Queen's Sports Club in Bulawayo on Thursday. They bowled the home side out for 173 and by close had scored 83 for three. India played well, but were helped by a dismal Zimbabwe batting performance, as one soft dismissal followed another. The early-morning cloud had largely dispersed by the time play started with Heath Streak deciding to bat on a good-looking pitch. Dave Houghton's prediction that the pitch would give some brief early life proved to be correct, and the batsmen struggled for the first ... more

I am a great fan of cricket without Film Four, Sky Sports or longwave radio. So apart from the occasional coverage on Channel 4 and snatches of information on BBC Radio 5 Live.
