    Advantages Advantages HUGE RANGE (good for hard to find editions), free worldwide delivery, titles packed seperately to avoid duties

    Disadvantages Disadvantages longer delivery time (same as most US based shops), navigation could be better, disc information could be alot better (maybe due to large range??)

    Why would you want to buy DVDs from overseas??? If you have a multi-region DVD player you are asking me a daft question!!! Firstly, nine times out of ten films are released in region 1 (USA/Canada) roughly 2 months before they are released in the UK. The other 1 time they are released simultaneously here and USA. Secondly, DVDs from america have more extras on them!! They get more special editions, and generally just more titles are available on DVD from region 1 than in the UK.     Firstly, anyone who is serious about DVDs has a multi-region player and is buying Region 1 discs - anyone who isn't needs to wake up. Assuming it's Region 1 you are after, DVD Box Office is simply the best place to buy discs. This Canadian upstart has been around a while now, and has a great reputation. Most notably, they offer FREE SHIPPING internationally. This makes a huge difference in the price for those used to paying shipping from DVD Express or Empire in the States.     After receiving the URL for this company from a friend, I took a look around to see what was on offer. I have a region-free PC setup and so was not restricted on which region I could watch DVDs from. DVD Box Office has an excellent selection and I found it hard to choose which DVD I wanted to buy first. The best thing about these guys is that delivery is free and is not always tagged onto the price of the DVD you wish to buy. The other good thing is that they send out DVDs in plain Jiffy bags so that you do not incur additional costs that you may get by ordering from other companies. The ... more

    I use DVDBOXOFFICE 99% of the time when I buy DVD's. Not only are they the cheapest (which is very important!) but they give excellent service. I have never had any problems with any order I have placed. The free delivery offer, which has been on offer for as long as I can remember, is the only one that ships free to the UK I have found on the internet. This keeps the cost of the actual DVD down, I hate paying loads to have things posted to me! Delivery to the UK takes about 1 or 2 weeks but you still receive some films before they are out here.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Are limited in the range of DVD's, slightly longer delivery than UK order

    Why go out when you can stay in and get a good movie on DVD (which you can watch over and over) not too long after it comes out to the cinema and for not much more than it would cost you to go to the cinema! By the time you go out, use petrol, pay for parking and pay your entrance fee to the cinema - follow that up with the extortionate prices for Pick'n'Mix and drink prices almost in line with your local - the cinema is no longer a cheap night out.     There is little point in retailing DVD’s on the high street in the UK. How on earth places like HMV and Dixon’s make money from them is beyond me, especially at the £20 price point they insist on levying. Let me introduce you to www.dvdboxoffice.com, possibly the greatest DVD retailer in the whole damn universe. Their based in Canada, so you get all those lovely region 1 discs months, yes MONTHS, before the UK releases are even thought about.     Usually I use play247.com to get my region 1 dvd's but occasionally I also use these guys. Based in canada, dvd boxoffice are an excellent source for region 1's at occasionally better prices. Example "Four weddings and a funeral" - I actually found it hard to find any uk retailer who stocked the title so when I found it here I was very happy. Even happier when the canadian dollar price translated into £12.95 (and that includes postage - which is free!!).     I have only bought one dvd from DVD Boxoffice and like everyone who is reading this, I was apprehensive the first time as to what would happen. But my fears were unfounded. DVD Boxoffice is not one of the fastest for delivery, but they do offer free world wide delivery and your dvd will arrive in an unmarked envelope. Also, their prices are hard to beat and you will be able to purchase dvd's that are not out in this country yet. I purchased the dvd Always and it cost me £14.72 and when it comes out in this country later in April, it will sell for between £16.99 to £19.99. Something else you ... more
