Advantages: Good way to declutter or grab a bargain. Disadvantages: Non-existent customer service.
I have been using ebay now for longer than I'd like to admit and yes, it does have its advantages. There is the excitement of bidding on items, the freedom of shopping from home without restricting hours and the opportunity to grab a bargain. But is it always a bargain? I'd like to say yes, but I fear, not always. I have bought so much stuff on ebay that has either ended up back on ebay or in a charity shop. Is it really worth it? Is one man's junk ...

I was recently bidding on an Adidas tracksuit for myself.....for the gym, cos I'm on a diet ya know!! lol
Well anyways, the bidding went up to about £16.50 and the with about 15 hours or so to go the seller withdrew it from sale!! It was listed for with ...

Hi
I started using Ebay a few year ago and it has paid for my family holiday since 2004
Normal on a sunday i will go to the car boot sales early in the moring and buy what i think will sell, the best way to see what sells is to go on to the Ebay site and spend a few days surfing the site to see what sells best, i think you will be surprised at what you can get good money for, things such as Lego certain kids figures, fishing tackle, clothes, books, ...

Advantages: Low prices, range of items Disadvantages: Fake items, dodgy sellers
Ebay. Everyone talks about how wonderful, or annoying, ebay is/can be. I have to admit that I thought ebay was a great thing when I was looking for a prom dress. Got a nice red ball gown for £58. However, I've found getting electrical items can be a bit of an issue. I was looking for a new mobile and I found a brand new one with loads of accessories for £116. The problem was that the chargers and phones had a tendency to be faulty according to the ...

Advantages: Sell worldwide Disadvantages: Listing cost, final value @ 10% of auction plus additional paypal costs,
Ebay now charge so much it's not worth selling nik naks from around the home for 99p, since they bought paypal they charge you 3 times, listing fee, final value fee and paypal fee. This is now not worth my while. Thanks ebay, you have effectively stopped small time sellers.
Once upon a time I used to work from home and make a living by selling 12" records on ebay, nowadays it's not viable to sell anything under a quid unless you are listing 700 similar ...

Advantages: you can sell almost anything... Disadvantages: ...but you're profiteering on misery
The official history of E-bay suggests that the website was first invented by Pierre Omidyar in California on Sept 3rd 1995 and that the first item that was sold was a broken laser pointer.
The official history is in fact a bunch of lies, it's what they want you to believe as what really happened is contoversial, embarrasses royalty and shakes many religious beliefs to the very core.
In 1864 Pierre Nasique (as he was then known) founded a ...

eBay? What can I say about eBay? well basically eBay has been a haven for me for the past few years. I have bought and sold many, many things on this site and in my eyes, its the only place you should go to if your selling something.
The site is so easy to use as you can basically search for any item you want straight from the homepage. Results are quick and appear instantly. Items are put into categories which makes it easier and faster to search. ...

Advantages: all done from comfort of my own home with minimal equipment or expertise Disadvantages: postage costs can deter sales but this is not Ebay`s fault.
In my opinion and in my experience the services of Ebay have encouraged me to earn money, recycle items of no further usage and to help others obtain items at a lesser cost than would have been possible before. By displaying an item for sale or for auction on Ebay I have the whole world as potential customers. If I only had a shop I would only have the people who passed by my windows and door. I believe there is no better way, for some items, than ...

Advantages: none Disadvantages: Compulsory Free P&P on certain categories, complaining very hard, fixed width design: non w3c
Ebay make it compulsory that you have to have free postage and packaging on products in categories like bags and DVDs. But lets you charge what you like in the jewellery category.
When you enter something in a category that is enforced by ebay as free p&p it still lets you type in an amount but then throws up the error when you try and submit the listing 'postage cannot be more than £0.00'
so why is that field there then?
I tried to complain about ...

Advantages: Very easy to use, good benefits, excellent choice, good shopping from home experience Disadvantages: Has always had the same layout, tickets touts selling tickets for double face value!
Ebay is a revolutionary website in which people can pay a small fee to buy and sell items of all kinds, to people all over the world. Ebay is well known for being the place to find tickets to gigs, designer goods, and rare music and film memrobillia.
I was a little scared of Ebay at first, but it's very easy to use. You can sign up for free. It's so easy to find what you want, and the choice is excellent. The feedback process is the key to it's ...

Advantages: Grab yourself some good deals! Disadvantages: Some ebayers may be cons!
We all love Ebay, don't we? I mean, grabbing a gorgeous new pair of shoes for a fiver! You can't get much better than that! But in my opinion, there are also many cons going around on ebay! For instance, how do you know that £150.00 you're paying for the 3 night Spanish cruise is not a con? And of course, many people have been conned out of tens, hundreds of pounds. I would first of all suggest that everybody looks at the sellers feedback, and if ...

Advantages: Lots of sales items Disadvantages: Very expensive to sellers and biased towards buyers - easily scammed and open to abuse.
As both a seller and a buyer and am now really disappointed at the way that e-bay has shifted the bias towards buyers and taken away the ability of sellers to leave negative feedback about dubious buyers.
From experience buyers can take ages to pay for an item and then demand a refund on the basis that they do not like the item or for other superfluous reasons without the seller being able to respond in a structured manner.
The sole use of PayPal ...

Advantages: A place to sell your things Disadvantages: High fee's, Stupid ebay rules and an unfair rating system
Ebay was a good site a few years ago but over time, like most things, it has been ruined by its owners in search of higher profits. Ebay is a great way to sell your old 'junk' and can make the average person a lot of money. Recently it has come to my attention that Ebay are taking down listings that have too many words in the titles (word spamming) and many authentic goods are being taken down every day as to avoid legal battles encase the products ...
