EBid - you just HAVE to try it to believe it!

AdvantagesSingle payment then free listing & no selling fees for store owners

DisadvantagesNot all sellers seem to compare their prices before listing

"...- Pay a visit to eBid.co.uk and dip your toes into a free bronze membership. This is enough to get you started. Take all the time in the world to browse and become acquainted with the feel of the site, navigating it, searching through the categories, investigating the 6000+ stores, and then try a few bids on items that take your fancy. eBid is more of a trading community than a multi-national trading machine. There aren't thousands of shareholders ..." Read review

A site to rival eBay? Diamond review

AdvantagesFree listings, bargains to be had, some nice features

DisadvantagesNot many bidders, less choice of goods than eBay, high 'Security Subscription', PPPay integrated into the system

"I am an eBay addict, so what am I doing writing about a rival auction site? I stumbled on eBid by accident, being desperate for an item that wasn't available on eBay. I did a search on google for auction sites, and so found eBid. I have been using the site for a couple of years now. In case anyone reading this does not know about eBay either, both sites are on-line auction sites where you can buy and sell almost anything - from a pencil to ..." Read review

THE NEW EBAY

AdvantagesNO SELLING FEES

DisadvantagesA NEW SITE NOT MANY HAVE HEARD OF THERFORE NOT AS MUCH CHOICE.

"This IS the new 'ebay'. Many years ago, I discovered ebay and quickly became a devotee, having several times created and deleted accounts for one reason or another. Over my time on there I became more and more disgruntled with it. This is due, partly because of the new meanness of the buyers who seem to no longer delight in getting a bargain at a good low price, but who now seem to have devised buying strategies which include, watching an item ..." The Web's Best Kept Secret

AdvantagesStill undiscovered territory so stake your claim while you can

DisadvantagesIt's all so hush-hush!

"****For Buyers***** This is a great site for buyers because so many buyers have their noses stuck in Ebay that they often forget that there are great bargains to be had on other auction sites out there! Since the Ebay fee increases, many Ebay sellers have flocked over to Ebid as it's free for them to list. And as it's free for sellers to list on Ebid, many of them pass on these savings to their customers. Just looking through many of the categories ..." Read review

eBid - miles ahead of other auction sites

AdvantagesFREE!!! And 100% excellent customer service!

Disadvantagesneeds to make potential users more aware of it's presence

"As a keen eBay user, but SICK of the fees imposed on almost everything when selling, I decided to look for an alternative. I found all the usual ones, but none held any interest for me, especially as they were smaller, had way less buyers, but still charged fees. Then I found eBid. Which was 100% free to list items, with NO Final Value Fees. In January 2003 I joined and listed a few bits and pieces. I didn't really expect much to come from it at ..." Read review

OOOOO I LIKE IT HERE

AdvantagesExceptional customer service, very fast growing and no fees

Disadvantagesnot as big as ebay... duh who is?

"As online auction sites go this is the best i've seen. I think the easiest way to give you a true idea of how good it is is to directly compare it to the current 'best' auction site which is ebay listing Fees: Well as we all probably know by now ebay has recently raised all of there fees making life for sellers of small low value/collectable items a living hell as the fees cancel out any profit they make eBid has the advantage the it ..." A fair auction site better for buyers than sellers

AdvantagesLow fees, easy to buy and sell

DisadvantagesMuch less sells than

"Many people rubbish Ebid. But to be fair I have found it be to a fair to good second site to E Bay - although for sellers the traffic is much slower, and I agree with many comments seen that compared to E Bay Things do sell slower. But on the plus side the fees are much lower. For a normal Seller the fee is 3% on Ebid. If ugrade to Seller + (£49.49 within 24 hours registration) then the listing fee is free with, if you choice to have a picture gallary ..." Read review

Breaking the monopoly of Ebay

AdvantagesGenerally cheaper than Ebay

Disadvantagesfraudulent sellers/buyers common on all auction sites

"www.ebid.co.uk is a site I only really noticed around 6 weeks ago. I had never heard of it before, and, as some of the non-ebay auction sites are a bit empty, I wasn't expecting much. So, imagine my surprise to find there were thousands and thousands of items on there! Okay, so not as many as Ebay, but not too shabby either. It was easy to join, and if you register a credit card details with them, you can immediately jump from bronze to silver ..." Read review

www.ebid.co.uk - FREE to sell - best auction site

AdvantagesFREE, fantastic support, friendly forums for help and advice... FREE!

Disadvantagesnot enough people know about it!

"Hi, I am a member (buyer and seller) in several auction sites (ebid, ebay, QXL.com, amazon etc) but I'd just like to say out of every auction site I have came across so far - ebid is the best! The first distinct advantage it has is that its FREE! Yes you read it right - you can sell an item on there without paying any listing, selling or membership fees. Even opening up your own shops free! You do have options where you can upgrade your listings ..." Read review

do you want to bid on ebid

Advantagesfraud protection

Disadvantagesfraudulant sellers

"I have moved my ebay op to the ebay bit were its meant to be but a while ago Ebid.co.uk is one of the only online sites that i trust with my. Although there are a lot of methods used to combat the problem of false sellers there are always those who slip through the net and manage to sting people for hundreds of pounds. I have heard many stories of this happening but the one that sticks in my mind is this one; My friend decided he trusted ..." Read review

Ebid.net the best internet auction site

AdvantagesList for free

Disadvantagesnot many

"Ebid is the best internet auction site. Advantages for Buyers. Due to the recent massive changes on ebay such as a huge hike in listing fee's, changes to the search that is now in favour of the big boys that ebay have done special deals with, and changes to the feedback system etc, many Ebay sellers have flocked over to Ebid because it is free for them to list. Many sellers pass on these savings to their customers. Go and look through the many ..." Read review

ebid made easy

Advantagesno listing fees

Disadvantagesneeds more poeple to sign up

"I have been a member of ebid now for about 2yrs. There are not as many people on ebid as there are on ebay but, it has the protentional to expand, and is expanding. It has very easy instruction on how to use the site, and easy to navigate before you start, this I really recommend you do, if you are users of ebay it is a little differant but is very easy to follow.you dont have to pay fees for listing your item and only pay a fee if your items that ..." The Jury's still out???

AdvantagesFree to list, easy to navigate,

DisadvantagesNot many buyers.

"I have been a user of e-bid for a while now, and am still not sure about whether this site is as good as it makes out. I found the site through a seller on Ebay, who pointed me in the direction of Ebid when the fees on Ebay were upped yet again, and as a small seller there was little profit to be made once the fees had been paid. The fact that Ebid don't charge fees for a normal auction (unless your item sells) and the cost of the other features ..." Read review

EBID - Great for Buyers- Great for sellers

AdvantagesOne off sellers fee then free to list. No FVF. unlimited listings

DisadvantagesNeeds more publicity

"After being totally dissolusioned by EBAY and Paypals disreputable customer services I came across EBID by chance. I have read other positive EBID reviews here and thought I would give them my vaildation too. I joined EBID in April 2005 - 6 months ago, and paid a one off sellers joining fee- equivilant to one months EBAY fees! I set up an EBID store (very easy to do) which now has 30 different categories- a sell a very wide range of items! ..." Read review

E-Bid

Advantagesfree to sell

Disadvantagesnot a huge audience

"While surfing one day i came accross a banner advertising an auction site which it is free to sell on, i thought as i sell a few items on e-bay i would give it a look, this is when i found E-Bid. I signed up, which is a simple process and free, and listed a few items, which is also simple, and FREE!! The problem i had was a week or so later when i checked my items and each had only been viewed once or twice when the same item on e-bay would ..." Read review
