Advantages: easy email address, easy to use Disadvantages: sometimes slow
Email.com is a partnership between email.com & mail.com. It used to be part of NBCi but isn't anymore.
Getting started
~~~~~~~~~
It's pretty easy to sign up to email.com - just go to www.email.com and select register. To create an account you'll need to choose your email login - as email.com is less popular than hotmail for instance you are more likely to get the login that you want. Your email account name can contains letters, numbers and an ... ...offer any 'cool' features.
On the whole I've been happy with the service I've received from email.com - years ago they migrated to another system and lost a load of my messages which I wasn't happy about. They were suitably apologetic and I haven't had any problems since. ...
Advantages: Good features, Great email address (@email.com), simple to use Disadvantages: 5MB account size limit, USA based
As you'd guess email.com is an email provider, and its absolutely free! The email address you recieve is "yourname"@email.com, as in if you want john123 a name, your email address will be john123@email.com. Pretty simple to remember and tell people really!
Of course thats not the only thing thats great about email.com! they have a wide range of features including Chat, Clubs, E-cards, Calanders, and on the NBCi page there are lots of other features.
... ...that!
And one more thing, its a USA based email thing, so all the links and adds are also for US products.
So, if you want an email address that is easy to remember, free, and with lots of features log in to email.com and sign up today! ...
Advantages: Nice looking address, forwarding is convenient Disadvantages: An extra stage to fail for your email
...I don't use the email.com web-mail features, so I couldn't really comment much on them. However the site is pretty easy to use when I go there, except for it's irritating branding with NBCi. Since they're the ones paying for it all I suppose I can put up with it though!
One of the top points about using this service is that you get an address of [yourname]@email.com . This looks good, and is pretty easy to describe to someone. If your address is ... ...this may well be useful.
I've found messages are forwarded promptly, with very little difference to them being sent straight to my ISP.
The only problem with using this to forward your emails is when they go down for maintenance. This means that you con't get your mail for a while. This generally only happens for a few hours though, and I've only had problems with it 2 or 3 times in the last 18 months or so. ...
I have been using email.com for a few months now. It's free, easy to log on, and I like the design. It's easy to read your mails on screen, too - not too much scrolling down the page, unlike some some email services I've used. The main problem with it has been it is just very, very slow. And I mean SLOW. It can take several minutes to access, or delete a single message. I have no idea whether this is just my PC, my connection or if it is a general ... ...use the e-mail account for mailing lists, so the amount of mail in my mailbox can mount up rather - but it's never been more than about 200 messages in the Inbox, and maybe 100 messages saved in folders. And my Inbox has never been more than 18% full. Basically, because I receive a lot of emails this way, at the moment it feels like I can't read and manage my e-mails any quicker than they are arriving! The site does appear to go down quite regularly, ...
Advantages: Easy to use, easy to remember, does everything you need Disadvantages: Bad and annoying advertising in pop up screens
...a friend told me about email.com and I tried it out.
Signing up for your free account is quick and easy. The choice of possible addresses is good (although - may have declined as the sites popularity has grown) and it's fab because the last bit is so easy to remember - email.com. Passwords are case sensitive now though - so pay attention! I didn't and found that the reply to my resulting query was rapid and helpful. The system itself is incredibly ... ...is dead simple even for a technophobe such as myself and navigation is childsplay.
But, and there almost always is one, you will get fed up with the advertising - pop up windows that drive you mad. Still, it just takes one click and they are away, so in balance it's hardly a major issue.
The system is generally reliable, fast and simple. So, if you are looking for a new email address - go with this nice simple option. ...
Advantages: Professional looking email address. Disadvantages: Too slow to login
http://www.email.com is one of the best email providers out there. You can have whatever name you want providing it hasnt already been taken. It looks the most professional email address when sending offers to clients or just to impress your freinds. The services are good, you can view your inbox straight away, write messages straight away, and save drafts of long or important email. This has to be one of the best email providers I have come across. ...
