Advantages Advantages Great Friends Waiting To Be Made and Fun Times To Be Had.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too many fake accounts, virus's and not enough protection for the gamers.

I have read a few other reviews regarding Facebook and some are pure brilliance, some not so much but I do find they seem to turn into a step by step guide or walk through hand book rather than a personal experience review, probably because the site itself is huge with 100‘s and 100’s of features. I’d like to try and take a different approach with my review, rather than tell you the different features and how to use them, I’d rather tell you about Just a few of my experiences, there has been too many over the years to review them all.. What Is Facebook? I personally like to describe it as a ... more

Advantages Advantages Great social network, very interactive, it's free

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Highly addictice

First we had Myspace the first online community that become intensely popular overnight and everyone made a friend called Tom… then came Bebo a more immature online community but still based on the same idea of finding all your friends and family online and having them all in one place so you can message them. Finally came Facebook, not all necessarily in that order, but that is order in which I joined them. Facebook like the other two applications is an online community or a social networking site which through no fault of its own has become more and more popular over time, well that and the ... more

If you aren't aware of Facebook - where have you been the past few years? Facebook is the largest global social networking website on the internet. It was founded in 2004 by university student Mark Zuckerberg and his roommates Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. Facebook has overtaken MySpace as the biggest social networking site - MySpace has become "so 2007..". Whoever saw that coming?? Facebook allows you to add your friends (or strangers, if you don't mind them seeing everything you write/post/like etc..) and interact with them online via different methods. You can write on ... more

Advantages Advantages Stay in touch with Family and friends

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A political minefield

What is Facebook? Facebook is a social network site that anybody with an e-mail address can sign up to. On the site you make friends with people and then as you would probably expect from a social network site you interact with these people. As well as interacting people you can join groups to show your support for almost anything you are interested in. If there is not already a group for this then it is easy to set one up yourself. Also there are various games available to play which in essence make this site so much more than a social network site. Why did I join? I initially joined after ... more

    Advantages Advantages So many

I was drawn in about a year ago to this online phenomenon known as Facebook and I have to say that my life has not been the same since. I know that sounds like a bold statement to make about what is essentially an online networking site, but trust me. If you are not already on facebook and are ages between 18-30 then you are in the minority. This site has exploded over the past year, eclipsing other social networking sites such a myspace and Bebo. *History Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004 to enable students of Harvard college to communicate with each other. Since then it ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be a lot of rows and irritating people!

What Is It? Facebook is a social networking site created by Mark Zuckerberg. It was launched in February 2004 and has since become one of the most popular social networking sites around. It has undergone several "makeover's" in it's time on the world wide web, and not all of them were popular with users. One of the things most people recognise is Facebooks iconic "Like" symbol, it is found on most websites these days and lets you share with your Facebook friends the things you like on other sites, as well as on Facebook itself. How Do You Join? It is simple to join. You just go to the website ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Potentially very dangerous

FACEBOOK Had I written this review six months ago it would have been a completely different review to the one that I'm writing today. I know that there are hundreds of reviews on here about Facebook- mainly I would imagine, singing its praises; I'm sorry all you Facebook addicts, but this review is going to be very negative - it is basically how Facebook has destroyed a big part of my life. I am sure that most people already know that Facebook is a "social networking" website. It was originally set up in America in 2004 for Harvard University, by one of the students. It now has over 300 ... more

Advantages Advantages Entertaining, fun, lots to do, catch up with old friends

Disadvantages Disadvantages Confusing, security issues a possibility

I am not a big fan of social networking sites. I have successfully avoided creating a MySpace or Bebo account and until recently, I never intended joining Facebook either. Then I heard from an old school friend out of the blue and he suggested I join Facebook, so we could keep in touch that way and share photos - so I did. Since then, I have been on Facebook every day! THE BASICS I won't bore you with the details of how to join. Just go to www.facebook.com and follow the process there. It's easy and it's free - those are the two things you really need to know. It's up to you which information ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy and quick to navigate, huge variety of things to do.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not as customisable as MySpace and fewer members you may know than Friends Re-United

Facebook is a strange hybrid in the Internet’s world of social networking. It combines both the social networking of a site like My Space with the “friend finding” ability of Friends Re-united. In combining the two elements, the people at Facebook have managed to create a rather unique site which has its own personality. Registering for Facebook is very straightforward and involves the standard online form filling you would expect from any site worth its salt. Registration also heralds the beginnings of the creation of your “Personal Profile” and how much you put into this is entirely up to ... more

Advantages Advantages Keep in touch with friends, make new friends (networking), waste time

Disadvantages Disadvantages Waste time, privacy concerns

Facebook, for those that don't know, is a friendship networking site, not unlike Friendster or MySpace. It began in the US and was, until fairly recently, restricted to students, but now anyone can join. Signing up is about as easy as most other websites, but the difference is that on Facebook while you don't need to input much information the idea then is to create a profile - you can list your favourite activities, books, music and movies, education and work details, contact information, websites and anything else you want (and you can set privacy levels, so some or all of this information ... more
