I have used Fasthosts to host some of my own and also customer websites for about 18-months now. Their online Control Panel which allows you to configure domains, database connections, FTP and email accounts amongst other things is a great idea and very user friendly but the service overall lacks any kind or reliability. Despite what others have said here, fasthosts do provide quite a decent service. I am on the onld NT accounts and the power that I have is amazing. With unlimited websites and webspace the only thing you have to watch is your transfer - of which you're allowed 10GB a month - fairly generous. Admittedly they do have a few downtime problems but the FTP has been speeded up and is a lot better now and for the price it is an amazing deal. The new deal ...

Hosted a business website with fasthosts for 5 months, in which time fasthosts seemed to treat my business as an annoyance. I have had a Fasthosts shared Linux hosting for three months and it is unbearable. There are errors with the site loading every single day. The technical support people haven't done anything other than to tell me that there is no "Service Level Agreement" for their shared hosting, which means they can provide you with a terrible service and you can't do anything. They have absolutely no support whatsoever, and are ridiculously expensive, especially considering how cheap and good US hosting services are.
