    *Note - This is a review of the photo development section of the website, other sections include, posters, photo books, canvases & other personalised photo gifts. I have been desperate to get one of my sets of digital photos printed for ages. Numerous trips into Sheffield city centre confirmed that this was going to be very expensive. At 54p per photo I simply could not afford to get them printed. This was an issue as they were part of a present that I was running out of time to get.     Last Christmas I was browsing the internet trying to find something different for my poor dad who for the last 10 or so years has received the usual socks and deodorant for Christmas of me. That's when I got a pop up for FOTO.com. Now I am not usually somebody who would opt for even paying attention to these annoying thing that pop up as you are trying to work or more importantly, shop for Christmas presents!     I used Foto.com to have some large-format prints made of some arty photos I'd taken. I chose them primarily because of price - at approximately B2 size, their prints were under £5, whereas the nearest competitors were more than 3 - 4 times that. Uploading the photos was a challenge - after grappling with the Java upload thinger in Opera and finally getting my photos selectable, I was unable to complete the process and had to drop down to Internet Explorer.     I'm not a big fan of printing out digital photos - I prefer them online. So when I need to get copies done for relatives I want a site that is easy, quick and cheap. Foto.com has so far been all three. There are many different types of business, the small intimate ones, the expensive luxury ones and the supermarket that does it all, cheaply. I'd rate foto.com as the latter, it's not somewhere I would expect to go for personal advice but the quality of their prints has always been perfect, at all sizes.     Purchased 3 Photo books from this company.When they arrived the Text on the Front cover which should have been on the bottom was half way up the page covering the picture and half of the Text was missing. Sent about 6 Emails to the companies customer service ( as they have no phone number ) before they replied , asking for photographic evidence of the error. Sent this to them and waited 6 days for a reply. The reply was to Shred or Destroy the books , take a picture and then they would decide on if they will refund or Reprint. Very nice of them 2 weeks before christmas so you have no hope of ... more

    Worst ever Photograph site on the Web, Firstly avoid the canvas prints, they are rubbish, not even true to the colours. To order your prints, takes forever to upload, It is so slow that it makes dial up look fast. What I ordered was a canvas print of my daughter and son a poster of my daughter, a mug with the same picture as the canvas print, and a 176 6x4 pictures., totalling around £100 pounds all in all. What I got was one ruined canvas print, totally wrong tones and a very muck grey colour all over it, countless emails and still no feedback from them. My 6x4 prints arrived after two weeks ... more

    The first thing I'd suggest if you're thinking about using foto.com is to just try it out. It's so cost effective and the prints will be with you in days. Try them for yourself and make your own mind up.... I'm slightly confused after seeing the negative reviews here. I'm a professional photographer and have used foto.com a number of times now and never had a problem. Maybe I've been lucky or others have been unlucky? The cost is very, very competitive.     Briefly. The website appears to have been translated from French to English by a machine, not by a human. Uploading photographs takes forever - much longer than on other photo development sites I've used. Still, the prices seem cheap, so I decided to put up with these two annoyances and order a basic digital photo album. Delivery of my goods is quoted at 2-4 days. It's now been 2 weeks, and I've had nothing, even though my money has long since gone. I've sent countless emails, none of which have been replied to, or even acknowledged.     Oh dear.I've used foto.com for some, finding it cheapest by far with pics coming quick and of good quality. However, the last time I did not get my order. Despite several emails I recieved no replys. Customer service is RUBBISH! Don't expect a reply. I got pics eventually. Now I can't even get on to the site. It's sad but I feel it's a victim of it's own success. Foto.com really needs to improve and expand its wedsite as it is difficilt to get on to.
