    Freeloader is a website where you can download free games. Apparently they went bust a while ago but the site is still there for now, so go while you can. The premise of the website is simple but very effective, you can download full PC game for free. These are not shareware, demos or ten-year-old games. These are full price releases from a year or two ago. I'll go in to more detail later on, but examples of games include Jimmy White Cueball 2 and Grand Theft Auto 2.     I first heard about Freeloader through an advert in an internet magazine. Deciding to see what all the fuss was about, I hopped over to the site, signed up, and headed for the games section. The concept behind Freeloader is simple; you are bombarded with adverts and questionnaires in exchange for free computer games. Fair enough. You need a certain number of credits to download each game, and these credits are accumulated by clicking on adverts on the site.     I went to the freeloader.com site after reading an article in Video Gamer about the PC game Jimmy Whites Cueball 2. The review gave the game a very respectable 8 out of 10, which was a recommendation on its own, but the reason for this magazine looking at this year old game was actually because they said you can currently download it for free at freeloader.com. The homepage gave me four country options to choose from, so I clicked on the UK link. Next I had to register to start freeloading as the site puts it.     They say the best things in life are free, and the case of freeloader.com it's absolutely true! This website offers top PC games to download, for no cost to you! And we are talking top games, even though some are old but it's none of your shareware rubbish! Star billing is the fantastic gangland getaway game GTA London 1969 (the original Grand Theft Auto is also available).Other big name games you can get for the asking include futuristic roadwar racer Hidden & Dangerous and that sublime sim Jimmy White's Cueball 2.     I read with regret that Freeloader had gone to the wall in an op by webreaper. I checked out Freeloader but it still seems to be functioning, so asked webreaper for more info which he duly provided. There seem to be a lot of rumours, but it still seems to be functioning properly. Anyway to the site. If you go to www.freeloader.com you get a choice of English , French , German or US sites.     Freeloader is a great site which lets you download full games, which they pay for with advertising. Membership is free and you do not have to give any personal details like your address or phone number. Basically, you click on advertising banners and get credits which you can use to download games like Grand Theft Auto or Spec Ops. Bigger games are split up into different episodes which are usually a couple of megabytes in size. At the moment there aren't that many games and most of them aren't that new.     The question here is, how much are you willing to put up with for a freebie? Freeloader.com offers games to download or play online for free. The only condition on this is that the user views advertisements to earn 'credits' which are then swapped for games. Each game is split into 'episodes' which are released periodically, and each episode costs roughly 15-25 credits. Freeloader.com give each new user 500 credits to use, and you can potentially earn 5 more for every advert you click on whilst logged in, so it's a really good deal.     Freeloader is exactly that...there's no catch! All you do is register, and then download the games on offer.It's that simple. There's the usual Shockwave games, that don't really amount to much; some "exclusive" games and (as yet)a few commercial games. (there are more promised). The commercial games are in some cases, best sellers...Grand Theft Auto; Hidden and Dangerous, Spec Ops etc. For absolutely no fee, these represent a great offer.     What an excellent idea for a site - you answer 3 questions - look at 3 adverts - and you get a free game. As well as this - it's legal!. I had been considering buying H+D - but now i can freeload it!. I have to say, i don't think the site design is that great - and they mix in some tacky rubbish in with the good games, but if you know what you're looking for - you'll love this site. You get credits - and you spend them on games. You have to earn them again by clicking on adverts etc. There is some quite good support - just make sure you read it before you start.     Freeload.com says that you get free games by downloading from their site (I don't have totally free ISP so I wouldn't say totally free of charge) All you need to do is view some ads and off you go. I have expirenced various problems with responce time of the site. I have a lot of misgivins of the right of the site to redistribute theses games, I have found no reassurance that you are legally downloading these games, as the games are not to my personal liking, so I would have to say "Stear clear of this site" ... more
