fsmail.net - free email
Review of freeserve.com by thespurs

Advantages: Free, well set out and well maintained
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little slow

...into it by going to freeserve.com and type in your e-mail address and change the ending box(eg. fsmail.net). Now, you simply go to fsmail.net and type in your address and password and you are logged in. Registration is very simple and easy, you just complete these simple stages - Stage 1 - You can create your own e-mail address, e.g. dooyoo@fsmail.net. However, if somebody else already has that name you will have to choose another one. You ... Read review

Mad I tell you
Review of freeserve.com by Bryn_Pearson

Advantages: used to be very good
Disadvantages: currently malfunctioning

I started using freeserve as soon as I went online. Here's a little saga that should help to enlighten you about this service provider. You can join up with freeserve through their website, and it isn't too tricky. For little effort you can set up a freeserve email account - whateveryouwant to be called @wherever you want to be. freeserve.co.uk or.fsnet.co.uk or similar. You can get outlook express to default to using this, so all your mail come ... Read review

With Freeserve you realy can be free... Updated
Review of freeserve.com by ia_young

Advantages: good for current freeserve users
Disadvantages: only offers e-mail

The reason why I chose to use Freeserve as my ISP is because it was the first disc that I could lay my hands on. The service has always been quite good, the connection speeds were resonable and in general the e-mail service that I used was quite good. For a long time I used hotmail.com, when I was at work or University as I wanted an e-mail account that I could access from anywhere. As hotmail.com is probably about the most well known web based ... Read review

Freeserve
Review of freeserve.com by mazzelsha

Advantages: free internet access
Disadvantages: ignore customer service values

This was a wonderful company until I changed my banking details. I emailed them to let them know - they ignored me. I rang them - they sent me an email telling me to ring their customer service line again. I was basically ignored until they tried to take a payment from my old bank account - which was obviously rejected. I then got cancellation orders via email, telling me to ring customer services. I did and got told that I would have to start ... Read review

Freeserve: the ISP review
Review of freeserve.com by Manx

Advantages: Free. Solid.
Disadvantages: Prone to being too busy

Freeserve was not the first free ISP. Freeserve was the first free ISP to make it big, it opened the flood gates that held the British public back from the Internet and for that we should thank it. Freeserve had two big advantages at the start; 1) The free Freeserve CD being handed out with every computer bought at a wide range of established computer retailers around the country. 2) The support and backing of a big company that eliminated the ... needs improvement
Review of freeserve.com by ramlo2

Advantages: cheaper than other services on the market
Disadvantages: Frequent dinconnections

I joined Freeserve a few months back as it was an offer one couln't refuse. However, the service gets disconnected very frequently, and it it is alomst impossible to get connected some evenings. Guess what happened the first time I was doing this report!!! I am sure FREESERVE can do better with BT help as it is joint venture. Our previous ISP BT CLICKFREE was inordinately expensive though very reliable. It is more frustrating to be cut off the internet ... Read review

The orginal freebie and the best
Review of freeserve.com by pgarbutt

Advantages: Free mail and all the info you'd ever want
Disadvantages: none

Even though people find it fashionable to slag off Freeserve, they still do a rather good job of giving you access to the web and mail for nothing. Remember - before this we had to pay through the nose for services (MSN anyone?). Installation of the software can be via CD or manually if you already have an ISP. This would be the best ISP/mail service for PC beginners, as each step of the way is dealt with at a suitable level of understanding. People ... Read review

Review of freeserve.com by Chuckie8766

Advantages: Fast page download time
Disadvantages: Hard to connect to its severs during off peak hours

Freeserve offers a number of new packages to people who want to sign up to the net with them. There is the easy pay as you go option where you just pay for the cost of your local call connection for the time you spend online to your telephone provider, the off peak version, the off peak version using BTs Surftime and the Freeserve Time Unlimited option. All packages seem like good value to me as the site itself is great for content and the connection ... Read review

FREE?
Review of freeserve.com by Ringo

Advantages: Free e-mail and internet access
Disadvantages: Congested server, junk mail

Freeserve broke through into the server provider market with a way of giving their customers free unlimited e-mail and Internet access. They also provided free UK content, featuring news, sport and entertainment as well as 15 megs of web space. However, Freeserve did not live up to this 'miraculous' offer, and members soon found out that the connection became congested, their e-mail was full of advertisements and there had to be banners all over the ... just right for everyone
Review of freeserve.com by somebodyrandom

Advantages: easy to install, good for beginners
Disadvantages: none

‘Freeserve is the UK’s first choice for the internet,’ claims the little blue CD cover that you pick up from any Curry’s or ‘The Link’ shop. And to be honest I agree. The CD is very simple to install- you simply place it into the drive on your computer and click on a few buttons and away you go. The CD contains Internet Explorer, Outlook Express and a help file. The CD will automatically enter the dial up number ... Read review

Freeserve by name but not by nature
Review of freeserve.com by anatomic68

Advantages: Unlimited internet access for fixed fee
Disadvantages: 2 hr cut off. bad tech support.

Until recently I was a user of freeserve anytime, i was with them from 2000 when I first bought a pC. At first they were good and offered a reasonable service. But as time went on i found the service was getting considerably worse. The service is 13.99, going up to 14.99 i have been told (they are always putting the prices up), and for that you get unlimited internet access day or night. But do you? apparently if they feel that you are a perpetrator ... Read review

The SERVE is missing from freeserve
Review of freeserve.com by jaritten

Advantages: NONE
Disadvantages: Poor customer satisfaction

I am from the US, and service is number one because if you can't or won't provide customer service then someone else will. I joined freeserve through there one month free sign-up promotional disc. To me...one month free means ONE MONTH FREE. I popped in their disc and continued through the process. I followed all the steps to join the anytime account. This gave me access to the internet. I then signed up for broadband service through the only provider ... Read review

fsmail.net
Review of freeserve.com by sharondyer

Advantages: Very User friendly
Disadvantages: None so far

I have many an email address collected over the last few months, many of which I do not use at all, but fsmail.net I have recently started to use quite a bit. I find it very easy to use and if you go away on holiday or not going to be around for a couple of days you can set up an Auto Reply system with your own choice of words. I als ofind their Customer Services very helpful although very expensive to phone at around 60 pence per minute, to compare ... Read review
