    Friends reunited is a website I came across well over two years ago now and it is one of those sites which is saved on my favourites list along with sites like Ciao as I visit it quite a lot. Why? Well the idea behind it is simple, your sat thinking wondering what Suzie the Floozy is upto and what she did when she finally left school but don't have the faintest idea where to start looking for her to track her down so what do you do?     Wooooooo, after a pretty groggy start to the day, I’ve just been cheered up no end by hearing from a close school chum that I’d lost touch with over 15 years ago. And it was all thanks to a website that I registered with just a few days ago! I had a notification from there to say that somebody from my old school wanted to get in touch, and now we’re emailing each other thick and fast and hoping to meet up as soon as we possibly can!     Friendsreunited.co.uk, not a website I purposely visited but strangely one late evening I ended up on their webpage. Friends reunited are an online organization that allows general individuals of the public to sign up and search for old friends you may have lost contact with after maybe leaving School, College or university? Or for any reason. I was hesitant when deciding to sign up, I knew that if my close friends found out that I had I would be in for some serious teasing! But decided to go ahead anyway.     Sceptical as always, I was very slow to look up the Friends reunited site. I always knew I would get around to it eventually and when my friends refused to shut up about it, I eventually took the plunge. Expecting to find maybe a handful of names I recognised, I was actually amazed at the amount of old school pals that had actually signed up for it. Not only that, but the site was still growing.     This site is another alumni scheme, like alumni.net, which is intended to help people who were at school together to get back in touch with each other, or alternatively to reminisce about memories of their time at the school/uni – either by talking about events (e.g. celebrations / commemorations) or by talking about their memories of teaching staff.     Friendsreunited.co.uk is an absolutely superb web resource, and whilst still young in concept, appears to be snowballing rapidly. It has recently been featured in the national press and on TV news. At the time of writing the site is the most searched for on MSN, and is getting 3 million hits a month. That is some good going for a site which is managed by only a few people and run from the founder's home. The idea of the site is that given the massive take up of the Internet over here, you can quickly and easily link up with old school and college friends that you are out of touch with.
