    Disadvantages Disadvantages DVDs are more expensive than some other online retailers.

    For those computer game addicts out there, I would like to point out that buying games via mail order or online is much cheaper than buying from a high street store such as WH Smiths or Electronics Boutique. Some people will still prefer the High Street but upon reading this opinion on www.gameplay.co.uk this may convince the sceptics that buying online is more advantageous. I recently used Gameplay for the first time when I wanted to order a few PC games. I found out that you must register before ordering anything.     I love playing games, and finding about information on all the latest gaming gossip, the latest consoles etc., High Street shops with online web sites do not offer such good quantity on games. Take argos they do not offer all the latest games to buy or the latest consoles.     Gameplay.co.uk Gameplay is an online Games\Films store. It has a huge array of products, for all the popular consoles. Just in case anyone is interested, they have PC, DVD, PS2, Xbox, gamecube, GB advance, Psone, Dreamcast, gameboy and N64 Products availiable, and all at pretty good prices. The store also features lots of specials, I belive at the moment they are doing free second class shipping and handling and 99p first class delivering as an offer, that nobody can deny is a good offer.     HISTORY: Many years ago, a website was owned by BT, going by the name of www.wireplay.com. This was a network that allowed gamers to download software, and then play games against each other, for a fee. This website then went free, and of course membership soared. There was a British only arena, and the slower (but strangely in some cases faster) any other country network.     My 15 year old son discovered Gameplay on the internet on Thursday evening and already we are becoming addicted to the General Knowledge, Football, Rugby quiz games. You have to get 12 questions right, each question offers you a coice of 4 multiple choice answers. You will find this very frustrating but totally addictive as you get 11 out of 12 answers correct. If you manage to get all 12 right you can win Cds or a team shirt. The graphics on the games are great and the advertising breaks give you a chance to rest.     I don't know about anyone else, but I don't buy that many games anymore. Time constraints, cash constraints(!), hardware constraints and sheer lack of brilliant games means that it's simply not worth buying that many games anymore.     Online shopping, as I've found to my disadvantage in the past, can be a dodgy business - high-street giants are often not the best companies to turn to when ordering on the web, and lesser known interent-only sites sometimes have a less than perfect track-record. Imagine my surprise, then, when I stumbled across the simply superb Gameplay.com. A UK site, it brims with enthusiasm for games, dvds and videos from the moment you enter.     After purchasing a game from this company before I thought I would get great customer service and speed of delivery, but when I went back to order Theme Park World for the PC 2 months ago, I never realised what I was in for. The initial ordering went okay, my money was taken out of my account and I was told the item was in stock and would be delivered within 7 working days, so I waited for the seventh day and no game, I gave them till the 10th day after the order incase it was the state of the Post Office and Train problems which were delaying it, before calling Gameplay.com I was told a ... more

    I have always used gameplay and will never shop else where, a very fast service and at reasonable prices. You can pre order games well in advance and you will receive them on the release date, no money will be deducted from your account until the game has been despatched. Gameplay receives all their games every Wednesday. Gameplay.co.uk has a very good laid out site; on their main page are four icons to click on, which are play, shop, magazine, and channels.
