    Advantages Advantages Makes playing games on yahoo even more fun

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None that I can think of, apart from becoming addicted to playing!

    Do you enjoy playing card games like crib, gin and euchre, or pool and dominoes on line through the yahoo games web site? Fed up with people booting you from the games tables or refusing to play you because your rating is too low, then there is a solution, become a Monkey! No, it doesn’t mean that you have to grow a tail and develop fur all over your body to scare people into playing games with you, it is the name that members of a games league web site refer to themselves as, because the web site name is Monkey Royale (MR)!     As the internet expands to bursting point, it is becoming harder and harder to find interesting sites, original content, or entertaining sites. Yahoo have, again, excelled themselves. They have created a huge online gaming community based around some of the oldest and simplest games there are. There are too many games to mention each and every one, but suffice it to say that they have all of the old favourites. Card games include Poker, Blackjack, Canasta, Bridge and even Euchre.     If you like Scrabble, you will love Literati - the latest, highly addictive board game on the Yahoo! games site. It's streets ahead of Flipside's Wordox - and I thoroughly recommend Wordox as well! I needn't give a blow by blow description of how the game is played, since the "how to play" and "tips" links are lucid and extremely helpful. Suffice to say that you don't need to purchase any proprietary software, and the free download isn't disk space hungry.     Well this is my second article on yahoo, my last was on auctions (thanks for any feedback) and this is on the games, I am as addicted to this as I am to this website, there are so many titles to chose from such as pool (my favourite) reversi, bingo, solitaire, battleships and loads of others.     I'm not really much of a game player, either on or offline but a favourite since childhood has been Scrabble, the word game. Unfortunately I have yet to find a true online version of Scrabble ( at least one thats free to play ) but a friend introduced me to Literati at Yahoo.com and since I first played I have been hooked. Literati plays very similarly to Scrabble, with a board of 15 x 15 squares, of which some are special bonus squares, which either double / treble your letters value or double / treble the whole words score.     As you know there are many online gaming sites out there, all of them with different kinds of games, and some of dubious quality. However, a couple of years ago I signed up to Yahoo games. This was initially a good thing but Yahoo have spoiled the thriving gaming community they had by being greedy!!!     Advantages Advantages better than other gaming zones, lots of games

    Disadvantages Disadvantages server crashes, you freeze and get yahoo'd

    I have been playing games on Yahoo for about three years now (when I'm not here I'm there!) and compared to the other gaming zones I have tried it is excellent. However, I have noticed that just like Hotmail, every time there is an update the service gets worse instead of better. There are two expressions which you'd probably get to use daily, Yahell and yahoo'd. At the moment the service is particularly bad, the games server crahes a lot which is so annoying because it is easy to get addicted to the games and when you can't get on it's a real pain.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Can get difficult to play against high 'rated' players.

    Around two years ago, my Granddad taught me a classic card game … cribbage. I loved it; but unfortunately he soon tired of me pestering him to play and there was nobody else I knew that that could play this game. Then there was ‘Yahoo games’ the answer to my problem. Yahoo provides games you can play online, in a lot of cases against real people from all over the world. Hundreds of thousands of people are online practically all the time.     ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW WOW WOW!!!! THANK YOU YAHOO!! I have certainly been yahooed I love yahoo! Yahoo games are very addictive, especially literati. Literati is the Internet version of scrabble and like most people online I find Literati totally addictive! Its fab, funky and for all ages. Simple words, complex words all score points. Letter points range from 0-5, 0 being a wild letter and 5 being Z, J and Q. The more points you have the better. The board is 15 x 15 squares.     You hear so much about gaming on the Net these days - 'the biggest advance in gaming since 3D graphics'. And it is pretty good, if you neglect the effects lag and annoying people on the Net can cause you! But seriously, gaming on the Net is great, but people seem to think the only thing you can play on the Net is Quake and Unreal Tournament. What about the good old games? Chess? Dominoes? Othello?
