I used to be an avid fan of the gamestation chain but a recent experience with the company has left be cold. I went in to buy a wii fit which they claim to have in stock and for sale at £69.99.
Gamestation totally refuse to sell the wii fit by itself at the advertised £69.99, They insist you buy an additional £50 - £60 worth of additional "bundled" products.
The problem is the so called wii fit bundle consists of a non nintendo product, and 2 software ... ...This is tantamount to extortion. At this time of year when store supplies are short and people are desperately trying to fufil peopels christmas lists and money is short for a store to exploit customers like this is disgraceful.
When pressed on the issue a spokesman for the store summed it up with "we have them, and if you want one you buy what we want to sell it with or you dont get it" ...

Advantages: Reliable. Did what they said they would. Only paid RRP for Wii fit Disadvantages: Delivery company would only tell you which day they were coming, not what time
I recently bought a wii console and wii fit from gamestation. They only charged the RRP (unlike most sellers these days who are charging significantly more for the wii fit). I got emails when the order was despatched and it arrived as promised within a few days. The only problem I had was that the delivery people only informed you of the day of delivery but not the time (although it was possible to change it by text easily) so you potentially had ...

Advantages: Good Offers - But can they deliver? Disadvantages: Lies, Poor Delivery, Poor Communication etc
On Wednesday, 4th April 2007 11:09am I placed my order for a Nintendo Wii with Sonic the Hedgehog, Zelda, and Redsteel, at the time stated they were all in stock on the website. My card transaction went through smoothly and the order was accepted.
Following this, on the 4th April 2007 13:00pm I received an e-mail stating that my order was being processed. So far so good, everything was going as I'd hoped for an internet order and was hoping to receive ... ...this is where the service began to fail in my opinion, as I received another e-mail on the 10th April, 14:47pm (Six days after the Order Processing e-mail) Informing me that the item Redsteel was out of stock and I would have to contact them to arrange for an alternative game to be sent.
As I read this e-mail at 16:00pm I did as advised and phoned Gamestation and provided the necessary details to one of the members of staff to view my order. However ...

Like many people this year I have been trying, with not much sucess to get hold of Nintendo's Wii console for my kids for Christmas. I have found lots of sites charging well over the odds for the console. I was lucky enough to visit Gamestation's website when they actually had some in stock. I placed an order for a bundle deal with games and accessories about 9:30am. I got an email straight away confirming the order and the online section is easy ... ...half expected an email saying the order had been cancelled as I had already encountered this problem twice with two other online shops from the same large High Street Chain. Next morning I had had an email about 4am saying the order had been dispatched and later another with a tracking number and link so I could check its progress. It arrived just before 9am. Amazing service, why can't more stores be like this. Delivery in less than 24 hours on such ...

I was attracted to the site, like many others I assume, as they were offering great prices and value bundles. As they also have real shops I expected them to be a professionally run business.
They had a great value bundle for the Xbox 360 with two games, extra controller etc. I placed my order on 1st December. I did receive an immediate confirmation email followed by an email two days later.
The availability showed as "usually dispatched within ... ...my order i used the online form to ask for an update. After 2 days I had received no response so on the 15th I sent an email to the address in the order confirmation email. Again I received no response.
By now i was becoming concerned that it would not arrive. On the 18th i rang their helpline. Not an easy task but when i eventually got through i was told "don't worry we were waiting for stock but it has all arrived now so you will definitely have ...

Went into my local gamestation looking for a new nintendo DS and nintendogs game for my daughters Christmas. This was mid November so I was confident I had loads of time.
They had the DS but not the game, fair enough! When I asked when they would be getting the game they said they did not know - very usefull. They did have a geat deal on though; a DS and any game for only £109.99, so I thought I'd try the website.
The website looked good, was easy ... ...they said expected delivery in 1/2 days! Only slightly annoying thing was that there was a £4.95 delivery charge - but that was ok as it was still cheaper than the other shops and sites i'd visited.
Registered, ordered and got an email confirmation all on the 22nd of November. Congratulated myself on getting one pressy sorted in lots of time (for a change!).

Advantages: Competitive prices, cheap delivery and they sell cheap used games. Disadvantages: Sluggish service
I decided to buy from gamestation.co.uk last week because whenever I have bought from the high street stores I have never had a problem. I ordered a game which was not available elsewhere at the time. The site was very easy to navigate and I was guided through payment easily. There was 2 delivery options, 1.00 for standard delivery of 1-2 days or express for 4.00 which usually is dispatched same day. A order confirmation came through shortly after ... ...days which was great.
I have only just received the game a week after placing my order. I was happy to receive the game, but as I opened it up the map and booklet that came with the game were damaged and the game was obviously used as there were scratches on the disk. After paying around 7 pounds more to get the game new, I was disappointed.
I rang them up and they were very friendly and said I should just return the game to them and they'll send ...

I'd heard a lot of good things about Gamestation as a high street store, but had never actually used it. However, assuming their website would be of similar quality, I placed an order for a PS2 on it. This was, as I would find out, the wrong assumption to make.
I was sent an email confirming my order and assuring me it would be with me within 1-2 business days. However, after ten days they still hadn't so much as taken payment, and after several ... ...phone, only to find that they hadn't dispatched my PS2 yet at all. I told them not to, and asked to cancel my order. This was, incidentally the third time I had requested my order be cancelled, however I received no acknowledgement for either email.
The sales rep assured me he would cancel my order, and I went out and bought a PS2 at a high street store and forgot about it. However, some six weeks later, I received an email telling me that my bank ...

As a preliminary game-station is a site featuring new and pre-owned video games for different platforms it also features some DVD's and appears to have a large catalogue. It's prices are a mixed bag some new titles tend to be quite expensive, but there are some bargains to be had. ...games shops to compare prices. Gamestation.co.uk os a good website, because it doesn't only sell games, you can find out release dates and other gameing news.

Another feature which caught my attention is that you can preorder games before they are ... ...the release date. this saves disappointment when the game is out of stock.
My friend advised me that the site can be wrong when it says a game is in stock. Sometimes it says the game is in stock, but it actually is not. This is the reason why I go to the actual shop instead of the website. Because I know when I go to the shop, I can get the game straight away without any hassle.

...on the website called Gamestation.co.uk. Gamestation.co.uk is a website that sells games, accessories, strategy guides, DVD’s, consoles and lots lots more. GameStation, they opened a shop in Newark a few months ago, and guess where I spend most of my time, yes GameStation. So, what would you naturally do if you found a great shop? Look for their website. So I did. I thought "Wow! This looks good!" Advantages: Easy to navigate Disadvantages: Items claimed to be in stock are not. Many letdowns.
I enjoy shopping in my local Gamestation, but it doesn't always carry what I want in the pre-owned section. So I decided to have a search if they had an online site. Yes they did. I had a look. Lovely site, reasonable prices, simple to navigate and understand, and they also had just what I wanted, so I placed an order, item was in stock, and sat back to wait for Spongebob to arrive and delight the kids.
Next day, an email arrived to say the order ... ...was going smoothly.
Next day, went out, came back to find a message on the answer-machine asking me to ring Gamestation back because my order had been cancelled. So I did. At my expense.
