Advantages: Simple to navigate, search by area, may include specialist posts not advertised elsewhere Disadvantages: Don't disclose info on employer
As a wise man once said, "Every bag of shite has a spark of gold". My particular bag of shite, however, arose from the Job Bastards known as Roke Manor Research. Due to the "global downturn in technology industries", I was sacked from a job before I had begun. Now, having been a student for seven (count 'em) years, I've amassed a fair bit of debt owing to a piss-poor government system. In any case, the time has come for me to 'leave school' and join ... ...Initially, by acquainting myself with my best friend, the Internet, which may turn out to be the afore-mentionned spark of gold.
It's been a good pal of mine, seen me through good times and bad. There have been times when the Document Has Contained No Data, or sometimes the page I seek has packed its bags and gone without so much as a heart-wrenching goodbye! I was unsure of what to expect from online recruitment, but as yet I have been surprised.

Advantages: Good, simple search facility, can be sent job bulletins by email Disadvantages: Many ads appear to be trawling for CVs - vague, with no real job
Personally, I rate this site the best;
it is easy to use, you can easily set up a profile to search for jobs, and it doesn't have restrictive categorisation - that is to say, you don't have to select "Database management" before you can specify your key words. Particularly useful if you want to make sure you are covering the whole sector.
You can load your CV details onto the site, which is a little unwieldy, but no worse than other sites. Once ... ...them your CV. There is some standard text for expressing interest, though it is so basic I'd have thought it no bad idea to make more of a proper covering letter. From there on, you're really in the hands of the agency that posted the ad...
...and that's the one weak point. There doesn't seem to be *that* much quality control on the ads, with the result (at least with IT jobs) that there's plenty of the generic "looking for a trainer, £25k" type ...

...using your cv logged with gojobsite.co.uk or load on an alternate cv if you wish. There is also the option of adding a covering letter. It allows you to view all jobs applied for which saves time when you want to chase up any applications which you have had no reply to. The only downside is that a lot of the vacancies seem to be repeated or reloaded onto the system, which gives a false impression of the number of jobs. ...

Advantages: Easy to use, site stores your details for next time. Disadvantages: Don't seem to get many follow up calls.
In August last year my husband got made redundant from a 40k job in the city, later the next month he managed to chop half of his finger off. So he was off work for a while , this was when we found gojobsite. It was simple to register, choosing if you want e-mail updates or not. The site is very easy to navigate you choose an industry, then you can enter qualifications, experiance, if you want a contract/permanet job and what area you wish to work. ... ...jobs which are out side of your chosen area in check boxes which go up in 5 mile increments. You can choose to view jobs which have been posted in the last week,2 days or 24hrs, which is handy if you visit the site alot.
The option of having e-mails sent to you when jobs are advertised which suit your requirments is a good idea, especially if your too busy to check the site each day. If an e-mail comes to you with a job that your interested in, ...

I am a current subscriber to Gojobsite and have used the service for over eighteen months.
I have found the site very informative and user friendly.
I receive job adverts every day and though I have not been successful at obtaining a job through the site,I have felt that I have been given a wider choice in applying for job vacancies than any other medium available to job seekers.
I also receive career tips as well as personal development support ...

Advantages: You don't need to keep looking on the web all of the time for jobs as they are emailed to you direct. It helps you as much ass possible with applying Disadvantages: You have to have a wide range of search criteria and you do get quite a lot of junk jobs.
I like going on to go jobsite, I am actually registered with them. I find them quite helpful although, I do get a lot of junk emails with 'NO GOOD JOBS' I also get the jobs that will suit me and I think that they support you on line when applying for jobs and with your CV as much as they can. I first started to use gojobsite.co.uk about 3 years ago and I really think it is by far the best recruitment website.
The site is extremely easy to use and you can even access it from your mobile phone (WAP).
