    "Your on Hot or Not?" "Erm why?" Rapidly followed up by "and what's yer score then?" Were the choice words used by Assethound when I casually mentioned as you do that I'd uploaded my photo on to HotorNot.com. Now you could be forgiven into thinking I was vain and needed the admiration of all those anonymous 10 givers but the truth was it was a bit of a dare, with the girls over on Chuckleweb so in the end a few of us put our photo's up to see if the rest of the online world thought we were hotties.     Just when you think you’ve seen it all before, along comes a site with a bit of a twist. Some might consider this site to be a dark version of hotornot.com (formerly amihotornot.com) but the only darkness to be found at this site is simply in the web page colour. You can't get much darker than black as a background. As for site content, it’s perhaps a little mysterious, but not at all dark.     I don't do a lot of pointless and directionless surfing, as I don't really have the time, but I just revisited a site I used to visit when I was rich with free time - www.bored.com. And as I browsed through the sites posted, I happened upon a link to the site - hotornot.com. The chunk of text beneath the link simply said"Look at photos of men and women and rate them on a scale of one to ten, or submit your own picture to be rated by others."     Let's face facts - the Internet isn't there to make us feel better. The majority of sites, you will find, take a curious pleasure in making net users feel a whole lot worse. If the web was there to cheer us up, dooyoo wouldn't have included 'Not Useful', Amazon wouldn't charge for postage, flashy sites would cater for cranky PCs like mine, and NTL wouldn't exist. AmIHotorNot.com (often know as just 'HotorNot') is a fine example of the web community's 'cheering down' attitude.     hotornot.com is a web site dedicated to answering that very same question, am i hot or not? This site was formally known as www.amihotornot.com, but is now www.hotornot.com, so thats why the link you've been trying hasn't been working! The way it works is that you submit your photo to the site to be rated by other users. When someone views your photo they have a choice of rating it from 1-10 on good looks by using the rating meter above each photo.     I'm very attractive. I know this because people regulary stop in the street and and stare at me (sometimes pointing) and why else would they be looking? However some of you out there might not know whether you're attractive or not and if this is the case hortornot.com is the answer to your prayers.     OK, so you write on Ciao - some people like what you say, the subjects you write about, your writing style and the opinions you have, but others don't !! Does it hurt ? Well everyone likes the nice comments, the 'well dones' and the positive ratings and probably feel a little let down with the harsh put-downs and the negative ratings but it is after all just an opinion on our opinions.     For some reason, everyone seems to be talking about this site which gives you the opportunity to "rate" out of ten, photographs of people wanting to know what people generally think of their looks. Sounds like it might be a laugh, eh? Erm, well I have had first hand experience of it...
