    Advantages Advantages Durable, easy to clean, fun and educational

    For my twin boy's 1st birthday I was very keen on purchasing fun yet "educational" toys. As a first time parent I had been using the ELC catalogue as a toy guide so when searching for puzzles I decided to choose one from the ELC range which was the ELC My First Lift Out Puzzle. The puzzle is a wooden puzzle board with 12 lift out wooden puzzle shapes. Each shape has a small yellow handle to lift each piece from its place in the puzzle board.     Advantages Advantages Well made, durable, entertaining and educational

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Our pieces started to stick slightly but this was easily resolved

    It seems a long time ago now, but my oldest son received this First Lift Out Puzzle set as a gift from his Grandma on his first birthday. Over six years later, this puzzle looks as good as new and is enjoying a new lease of life with my youngest as this seems to be his favourite toy currently. The 'puzzle' is pretty basic but entirely suited to the target age group of 1-3 year olds. There are 12 separate pieces in the puzzle which all slot into their individual places, with the help of a single yellow peg in the middle.     The Early learning centre make my first lift out puzzle, at least that’s what they call it. I have one at work that I often put out for the children to do. This puzzle is suitable for a child aged over 12 months old would say it would be fine for a 2 year old a 3 year old might want something slightly more challenging. I work in a special needs school and we use it with our, 5 year olds. This is a rectangular wooden tray peg puzzle. There are 12 pieces each will fit into its own shaped hole.
