Ask now and Ikea is bound to figure prominently for many people, especially for those of us fortunate to live not too far from one of their stores. Be careful when ordering multiple items for delivery. You will be asked to electronically sign for the delivery even if the delivery is incomplete. The electronic signature is made on a hand held device but no details of the order or delivery are viewable when you sign. No documentation will be produced by the delivery agent until you sign. As far as the delivery agent is concerned they have delivered the goods even if you refuse them as incomplete. On placing my order I was given an estimated delivery date 8 days from placing my order. Three days after paying for my goods (a few hundred pounds), DHL contacted me with an actual delievery date 26 days from the date I placed the order. This date was no good for me as I would be away on holiday then straight back to work afterwards so could not push the delivery back. On contacting Ikea customer services they said they have the goods in stock so it is not their fault if DHL are busy. So who's fault is it? Why do they use DHL for deliveries?
