    Advantages Advantages Plenty of products on-line, usually quite good info, and pictures, special offer prices seemed good value.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Stock levels are not accurate, probably out of stock on special offers.

    Fairly recently I came home to find that my PC monitor had died… So having used Insight when they had a warehouse shop in Worksop (which has sadly closed!). I decided to look at their web site from work, and order a monitor from them. The web site was pretty easy to access, and it showed a special offer on a 17 inch LG monitor for only £99, an excellent offer! Their on-line stock was in the hundreds… so I tried to order on-line, but the site became so slow that I resorted to ringing the order line and placing the order over the phone.     Although Insight is aimed mainly business customers it can benefit the average consumer to use it as well. I’ve shopped there twice now and despite my second shop being a long, painful and slow process I will be using them again. The website looks quite cluttered and it can be difficult to get the hang of navigating it. As with other similar e-tailors the search engine is not up to scratch. If you know the exact make and model of the particular product you are looking for you should be able to find it, after trawling through many products.     I had heard good things about Insight from friends who had ordered before they were bought by Insight in the US and were a small British company. I decided to order from them three components for my system, a video card, a tv card and a monitor. I used the web ordering system and the order went through and was accepted on 3 day delivery. 3 days later I had heard nothing. When i rang Insight to enquire what was going on, i received a very unhelpful and 'laddish' attitude from the other end.     Advantages Advantages Insight is Well established company that has been around for a long time. They have a big selection of products and you can find great bargains. Fast delivery

    Disadvantages Disadvantages On the other hand their site is outdated and in many cases you have to contact them by phone or email before you put an order through.

    Great Company, Great Prices, No So Great Site I first found out about Insight 3 years ago from a magazine. I used it myself a few times and I was very happy with the service. As an IT manager I now buy 80% of the items required by the company from there. The Website is not the best. In-fact the design hasn’t been changed for the last 3 years. It has direct links to product areas and it seems straightforward.     A friend asked me to purchase components to build him a system. Insight initially appeared to have everything he required at a fair price. When the order was made, the site said that I would need to wait 3-4 days for the free delivery. A couple of days later I got an email saying one of the parts was out of stock and would never be in stock again, I had to pay extra to get another component to do the same thing.     I've used Insight a few times now and have had mixed results. They are very competitive price wise and stock a wide range of products which are generally delivered for free within 3-4 days. They have a good order tracking system to let you see how far its got. If you order something & you get it and it works then you are fine. If you have to send something back you might have a problem. Try ringing technical support and you end up listening to Mozart for 15 minutes, then the support isn't much help. They don't seem to know what they are talking about, and they always try and fog you off by ... more

    I seem to have been the lucky one having read the other opinions on this company. My experience was a good one. I was looking for a new HDD to store all those illegal MP3's that Metallica generously donated to Napster (Napster good) and after a lot of searching Insight came up with the best price for a 30 Gb drive. I ordered the drive online and that was a relatively easy process. I then was given a number to track my order. That is something I find very useful at times when things go astray.     Disadvantages Disadvantages You need to know what you're looking for, bit pricey

    I have used a variety of online computer suppliers for home and business in the last 4 years, and although I don't use Insight very often it is reassuring that you can easily and quickly speak to someone in their sales dept, in case of query. Main advantages over other online suppliers : they have a good range of products, carry stock for most of them and have good account details online to go back on (eg copy invoices can be very useful in business). Main disadvantages : they are not the cheapest, delivery is not free (regardless of order size) and there is not much info about the products ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages slow, and you will just waste your time

    I had a hardware failure and desperately needed a new laptop. I order one from insight and after 3 days I had a message saying "we cant find your address!!!!" I called and they said that I have to fax them with 2 copies of my bank statement or utility bill. This is the first time in my life that one company requesting something like this. I'm a frequent internet buyer. Is just ridiculous..... I got very angry and I told them to cancel my order. I found the same laptop £50 cheaper elsewhere.     Advantages Advantages The navigation around the different products is good.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite a few products aren't listed, if so then they are over-priced.

    I used to purchase from this company many years ago, because of the good service and price, but now I don't think I would ever buy from insight, because their prices are not competitive. After an order, they sometimes phone you up and ask you why you have ordered two mice, and try to sell you something else that you really don't need. The delivery charge is a bit steep as well. I reckon that this store is best suited for the small to medium business. But when I ordered a piece of software for about £125 + shipping, I found out that you could buy the same product on the high street for about ... more
