Advantages: Getting something for nothing Disadvantages: time points take to credit
I know that there are a lot of iPoints reviews however most of them are years old and none seem to take into account the new points system. So here are some of my thoughts on iPoints. ~Overview~
Firstly I am a big fan of loyalty schemes and survey sites; I am a member of quite a number and have a dedicated email account so as not to block my normal one up with the dreaded SPAM. Basically iPoints is a reward scheme which gives you points for shopping ... ...be cashed in to claim almost any reward under the sun! (The same idea as Nectar points but on the net)
~Signing up~
It's very simple really. I have just had a look at the iPoints signing in page and it all is simple as pie. You have to complete a 5 step form; don't panic it's not as scary as it sounds there are all very short forms and it won't take longer than 10 minutes if it even takes that. The first form takes some basic information such as ...

Advantages: Free stuff, not time-consuming. Disadvantages: Bad customer service, temptation to spend and gamble unnecessarily, spam in your inbox.
I'm not really big on all those loyalty schemes y'know, I get bored of all those dutiful things you have to do: clicking on links; waiting for pages to load; thinking of new things to "search the web" for; signing up for interminable spammy newsletters; remembering which smelly email address I used for which scheme. But Michael, my husband, is big on them and he's got the kind of organised brain that remembers to do all the clicky things that have ... ...that jazz. And he does get quite a lot of vouchers and free things from the half hour long frenzy of clicks he does each morning. Still, it's not really for me. The only one I do "properly" is Ipoints. I'm sure you know them, but I shall bore the pants off you anyhow, because I think Ipoints is actually worth it.
SIGNING UP...
...is a breeze. Ish. You just need to enter your details - name, address, email, that's it - and choose a password. I'd ...

Advantages: Get stuff for free Disadvantages: Takes ages
So many of the pay-to-do-things sites have died their death recently. What do I mean? Let's look at the list shall we. First we had some big names going bust, including that ill fated clothing shop! Then came the downfall of the ad bar schemes, with Alladvantage leaving a lot of people bitter. Then came the whole acrecby scandal (who owe me £30), and not long after swapitshop closed their doors too. Next up was the reward scheme sites, with my favourite ... ...all this got to do with iPoints I hear you cry! Well, I got my iPoints from two such sources. Firstly I had around £10 in my Surfmiles account when they died (for about the third time I think, but this time there will be no resurection!). Funnily though, my £10 turned in to 35 iPoints. Great I thought, until I checked the iPoints site. A £10 voucher from iPoints cost 150 points, so somewhere along the line Surfmiles had pulled a fast one! Anyway, ...

Advantages: Free stuff!!! Disadvantages: Can take a little while for points to be added
I noticed that Ipoints.co.uk had got over 200 reviews in the past but hasn't got any in the past few years so I thought I would write a review that will be more up to date than those.
I really like Ipoints, for the pure fact that it's always great to feel like you're getting free stuff!!

For example, Amazon will pay you 1 point for every £2 spent. Marks and Spencer will pay you 3 points for every £10 spent. Advantages: Free stuff, really!! Disadvantages: Attracts junk mail, ipoints slow to be added at times
I have been a member of ipoints for about 6 months and in that time I have earned over 400 ipoints (which I will explain later) for doing not a lot!
I was very sceptical when I joined but you dont need to give many details when registering if you dont want to. I went the whole hog though and gave my name, address etc and also filled in a questionare listing my interests so they could email me relevant information. For this I was rewarded 20 ipoints. ... ...I have found is to use a hotmail address and not your home email address as it attracts plenty of junk mail!
Once I was registered I set about browsing the site. There are various ways you can earn points and the easiest way was click-throughs but there are no more of these at present. Superdrug were doing a scheme whereby every time you visited their site using the ipoints click-through you were rewarded with 4 ipoints per day, unfortunately this ...

Advantages: Earn points for rewards Disadvantages: I've only earnt 34 points since January
I joined ipoints on 3rd January 2001 - and since then I've earnt a magnificent 34 points! WOW! Is it really worth it? As far I can see the answer's definitely "NO"!
The idea is similar to the Beenz concept, which went under recently.
Registration
------------
The registration process is quick and simple. You enter your details, indicate your preferences for 12 questions (saying if you're interested, not interested or indifferent) and then 18 ... ...expect to or will not). By doing these 2 parts you will earn a total of 20 points to start off your account.
Your Account
------------
As you'd expect you can update your details and see points in your account. BUT... the do seem to be VERY slow in processing pending points (i.e., those you've earnt but aren't yet available). On2nd August 2001 I joined Lightspeed, but it's now exactly 1 month later and they're STILL pending. I may write to them ...

Advantages: Yet another way to earn while you surf Disadvantages: Sometimes slow to credit your account
Ipoints is yet another internet site where you can receive rewards for online activity, but not in cash as at Ciao, but by points that you receive as a reward for participating at the site.
You can then use these points to buy various goods and services online. You earn points in a number of different ways.
First of all you are rewarded for registering. I joined up via the link here at Ciao, so that hopefully Ciao will also earn some extra kudos ... ...need give is your name and email address, that will in future be your username at the site. They also ask you for a password, and for your mother’s maiden name as a verification in case you ever forget it.
Once this info is given you have earned your first five ipoints, and by giving them a little more info like your address and phone number, your date of birth, and some basic details about your household, (this is optional) you can earn yourself ...

Advantages: huge range of offers and rewards Disadvantages: slow tracking time to receive points
iPoints is another cash back website, similar to Quidco, however, as the title may give away, instead of directly dealing in cash this site deals in iPoints. These are virtual credits that you acquire from shopping on the internet and signing up for offers, which can be redeemed for items off their website. To put these points into perspective you can buy a brand new Playstation 3 for 60,000 points whereas most DVD's cost around 1,000 points. Unless ... ...where the points count for more, roughly 100 points is the value of a pound. But the range of items you can purchase is very extensive so pretty much anything you ask for can be found.

Advantages: Get something for free Disadvantages: Doe's have its problems
Ipoints is another one of those web reward schemes that plenty of people seem to be quite wary of. They have a bad reputation of making you collect thousands of their points and then getting a mousemat or something from them as they are closing down or have gone bust. Beenz is one of these sites that’s having trouble at the moment. Webrewards is also another one of these sites that I have no experience of, but of the schemes I have used so ... ...rewards scheme apart from a couple of things that could be better in my opinion.
- OVERVIEW
Ipoints is a scheme like the supermarkets or boots use. I.e. when you buy something you are rewarded with a certain amount of points relevant to the amount of money you have spent. Those points can then be used to buy things that they offer for a certain amount of point. The more points you collect, the better the product you can redeem from them. That’s ...

I first joined iPoints in July 2001 when I was trying to purchase a mobile phone from Carphone Warehouse. At the bottom of the order page was a link to Web Rewards and I went and joined up there. About a week later I got an email from Web Rewards saying that they were merging with iPoints and that I could convert my Web Rewards to iPoints, which I did.

I joined the Ipoints scheme about nine months ago. I thought it a good idea at the time; I saw the promise of it and along with a lot of other things on the Net I somehow did not do very much with it. In fact as time went on I totally forgot all about Ipoints, even though I had added to my list of favourite web sites.

My total was just short of 80 Ipoints (I had earned some points for completing a survey). A quick visit to superdrug and a look at a paid advertiser and I had reached the magic 80 points. I thought ok lets see how long it takes to get to get a Marks and Spencer's voucher. Well it arrived inside a week. I am impressed so therefore I will tell you how good ipoints are. Plus some ways of earning more.
When you join ipoints you get a questionnaire ...

I-points has become one of the best known and most enduring reward programmes on the internet, and as such has many members and big name affiliate companies linked to it. I was very sceptical when I joined ipoints at the end of January. I believed that you never get something for nothing, how wrong could I have been. Yesterday I received £15 worth of Marks and Spencer’s vouchers that my Mum has now bought off me. I have already ordered my next £10 worth of vouchers and they should be with me next week. So in less than 2 months I have got £25 for nothing and it couldn’t have been easier.
